These shaders are soooo good but I have one problem that really bothers me: All the Maps I put onto walls indoors turn black! Can anyone help me?

Finally someone reported this bug. It's in the High, Ultra and Extreme versions, like the enchanted items glitchy black texture. I'm using Medium because of this this.

posted a message on Climbing, crawling. [$50 bounty or $100 if made as Spigot plugin]

I'm looking for a replacement for the abandoned Smart Moving mod. I can't play without climbing anymore, it makes life so much easier! And is realistic. And just feels good.

The Smart Moving mod was bloated with useless features and settings (and bugs), it's no wonder to me that it got abandonned, it must have been too much work to update. So I suggest something more simple (no custom animations) and light.

    - Climbing: While airborne (i.e., after jumping or in free fall), moving forward against a solid block (fences/stone wall included) with air above makes the player move up, as if they were pulling to climb that block.

    - Charged jump: Pressing crouch key + jump key for a couple seconds charges a power jump up to 2.5 blocks high. (With climbing, it lets you climb up to 4 blocks.)

    - Alternative if charged jump is too complicated: Double jump.

    - (Optional) Grabbing a ledge: While airborne, pressing space (crouching) while against a ledge stops your vertical movement, as if you stayed hanging on the ledge.

    - (Optional) Crawling: double tap the crouch key to crawl. Lets you move through 1 block holes. Use the flying animation horizontally? Release crouch key to stop crawling.

I'm offering $50 via FreedomSponsors to the first person who implements the above features correctly (I'll provide detailed feedback and bug reports).

And $50 more if it's made as a Spigot/Bukkit plugin.

The code *must* be released under open source licence though.

    Offer link: https://freedomsponsors.org/issue/799/minecraft-climbing-crawling-mod

Using that site to get your payment is not mandatory, I can pay you directly.

But others can join me and throw in a few bucks there if you want to help fund it. :)

This mod looks kind of abandoned. I hope someone will make a new one, simpler and easier to manage and update. Climbing and crawling were the only really useful features of the mod (and useful they damn were!), the other things were nice but superfluous.

    posted a message on [1.14] Chocapic13's Shaders

    Issues spotted in v6.2 beta:

    • Items on frames are rendered black or green at most viewing angles
    • Sun sometimes appearing on block edges when underground
    • Hand held map getting incorrect lighting/shadowing
    • (Perhaps cause of bullet point 2) Shadows are slightly offset. It's clearly visible at the base of tall grass when the sun is low, and makes the grass look like it's floating a bit.

Fix will be up shortly. Along with a shiny new feature, because I feel bad for disappearing for a month.

Excellent, and thanks! But please don't feel bad for anything, you have zero obligations. Feeling culprit isn't a good source of motivation, trust me.

About Ender teleporters, do they work across dimensions created with Forge Essentials' multiworld?

And, umm, if they are better than regular teleporters, shouldn't their recipe be more expensive and not less? :)

Edit:: Self-answer to my first question: Forge Essentials' multiworld is broken, but Simple Dimensions work with the Ender teleporters. Neat!

Has anyone else been getting a crash on servers while using the 1.8 version of this mod? It works when I am playing the single player game but my server crashes when I try to load it. I was using Forge 11.14.4.1563 and the 1.4.5 version of this mod. The 1.4.2 version of the mod works on both server and single player in Forge 11.14.4.1563.

Yes, crashing too here, on a fresh Forge server v11.14.4.1563 with just this mod, v1.4.5 or 1.4.6
    Crash report here

    1.4.2 works fine indeed.

posted a message on Minecraft Beta Customized Terrain Generator Preset "Neo-Beta" (Glacier seed comparison pictures inside.)

Revisiting old seeds is so cool ! Even if strange, with the new biomes on top.
Sadly with this preset, biomes are too messed up, oceans are all hills/mountains and structures have less chance to generate.

But but but! with some fiddling with the settings, I've found that all that is needed to have some interesting and good-looking terrain again is to keep the default settings and just reduce the biome size to 1 or 2. You probably get as many crazy mountains as with the beta terrain and landscapes are very varied, with beautiful lakes, rivers and biomes' features are respected.

Here's the "Glacier" seed with biome size 2 (after spawning, go to world origin with the command "/tp 0 75 0")

And some flying through biome size 1 of Glacier:

Just seen the new look of the first post, I like it. :)
The download section should be at the top though, that's what everyone is interested in.

    Released builds:
    3.2.1 for 1.5.1
"Build" is for software only (and shouldn't be used on non-tech environment). Use "version" instead.

Forwarding a comment from my planetminecraft page, this one is for you Redemptionists ;) :

This texture pack is so ing awesome.. especially the random textures decorative stuff has.. like dead bushes, tall grass..

I placed a dead bush.. and it was bones sticking out of the sand.. XD EPICNESS IS EPIC!

Not to mention the random textures of basic blocks like Grass blocks.. walking in a forest and there are actual leaves on the ground.. even more epic. Sometimes when im walking through the desert there are random things on the ground.. like a little pebble, or a purple flower..

    Ok, take three!

Just in time, lunch break is over @.@
Ah, better! Are you happier with it too?
Well there's still room for improvement. The reflections would look more like reflections if they were much larger and (even) more subtle. I'd prefer the center dot if it was bigger. And what about this blurry, disconnected south end of the arrow? What about making it a sharp empty circle, like in one of your reference photos? Hm, the red end looks a bit random too. I liked your fleur-de-lys idea for it.

I'm not sure what you mean by having the shine convey 'round'. The glass itself should be flat, shouldn't it? I don't think I've seen a bubbled glass compass before *head-scratch* or am I thinking the wrong thing?
iiii guess I'm the one thinking wrong. Your ref pictures are great. And as you can see, the reflections are rather subtle.
I've no opinion about your dot in the center you're thinking about adding.

I was afraid of bad opinion about my textures... But, when you told me what is wrong, actually i liked it a little bit more that appreciation! lol

(maybe because you're professional and author of this pack)
thanks, Ovo, i'll better go now remastering
You're welcome. Giving negative feedback isn't really a pleasing thing to do, because I know well that most people don't really like receiving it. So I'm glad your taking it well eventually.

And I'm not so professional... Nor am I *the* author of the pack anymore. Let's say I'm the lead designer, alright? :)

    Quote from apachey
btw, what textures i should start remaster first?
Hm.. play for a bit, look at the textures and try to get the feeling yourself for which ones aren't good enough and need your master skills to make them shine. ;)

So... As Ovo said... And many others...

I think i shouldn't make any new textures untill I'll gain a lot more experience or just take creating new textures as seriously as Ovo do. No, i don't saying that i'm just like factory of low-quality of textures, i just not so great artist, if people talking about bad quality of continuation, because there is many textures used in current .zip. But there is thing that i'm trying to keep up updates in time, but you can't be fast and make high quality textures at same time.

I'm waiting of your thought about that, community, and, especiailly, your feedback, Ovo.
From that moment - NO FAST UPDATES. Even more, we can late on that amount of snapshots\releases which will allow us to do VERY, very qualitatively work.
We'll better be late, than mixing and turning Ovo's original work into another, simple and common texture pack.
If you can do better quality, then definitely go for it! I like your textures but they always lack a lot of polish, they're always below my acceptable level of quality. You need to work more on shadowing, your stuff looks often too flat. Don't leave any blurry parts and some things need more little details. The skeleton is a a good example of combining all these issues.

I would spent money for this pack! :) But if I do this, there is one thing I'd ask for. I loved the darker style of the TP and I spent quite a bit of time to collect all the darker textures and darken the others a bit to fit my whishes.

If you do some Textures Ovo, please do darker ones aswell. I know you changed your style a while ago, but to me it was more "rustic" when it was darker.
I know many people prefered the darker version, I'm sorry, I thought everyone would agree that it was abnormally dark. But in the process I probably made everything a little more saturated. Maybe what you don't like is mostly the difference in saturation? Could you send me your current dark version so I can see the difference?
I really don't feel like managing two versions myself but if you provide me with a place like Pythro's vault where I can drop darkened versions of the textures I do and let you organize it, I certainly can do this.

    Quote from Serrinatta

Ok all, how is this for compass?

I added a small hint of a 3rd dimension (lol)
    Brightened it, like I intended
Added some four directionals to it (not labeled for North South East West, but still helps to know when it's pointing at a true 90 degrees)
    Thoughts? Comments?

If I don't get feedback to fix anything then I'm going to presume it's good enough to start making all the steps for the rotation of the arrow.
Could you post in-game shots? The reflections on the glass are bad. They're a lot too heavy, and they should convey a round aspect, at least on the edges. The glass should pop out a bit, see what I mean? To help with this, 1px of the metal around must be darkened and a bit of shadow cast on the low part, since the compass is held vertically (sic). The needle is equally bad, it would look better with the usual shape (large in the middle, pointy at the ends), and a sharp separation of color between the two halves, or the same color but a different shape, but not this red/white gradient. The metal decoration is nice. Could be a little more contrasted around the red spots, which could be a little darker, I don't know.

Serrinatta and Apachey, thanks for your anwsers!
So what about the fact that I'm asking to get paid for something that people get or do for free?
Well, it's no secret that some people get paid for making games and graphics for games. Sometimes what you get for free is enough for you, sometimes not. In the second case, someone has to be paid to get the extra work done, otherwise it's not done.
Maybe there is a handful of people here who specifically want more of my style and are willing to pay for that because they can't find what they like anywhere else by anyone else. And that's what I'm trying to find out here.

If you're are interested, please let me know, here or by PM. If I see there is a bit of interest I'll start this crowdfunding campaign and if it works I'll have a big pack of new textures to share with everyone some time later. That's about it. All the reasoning is given in my last post, if you haven't read, or if you have forgotten. ;)

As for giving advice to you guys who make textures... if you ask for picky feedback on your work, no problem I can provide :) , but I'm not going to pester everyone to get what I would like. This time would be better spent doing the job myself.
