To all those who rudely answered my question about the Advanced and Extended drawbridges, including mDiyo, my question was a legitimate one. I do use NEI, NEI only shows how to craft it, it does not tell you what it does! So pointing out NEI to me as an answer was totally pointless!

mDiyo, you suggested I just place the block and find out. Very poor response :/ I, like many others, play in survival mode. I would have to use up precious resources to make one. I would like to know what it does exactly before I commit resources to make it! I am sure I am not the only person who thinks the same way.

I am a fan of this mod but am sadly very disappointed at your attitude towards a legitimate question.
Write proper documentation for all the blocks you provide and you would not get questions like mine that obviously you are intolerable towards!

So, instead of spending a few minutes in creative mode to try it out and see what it does, you felt that writing three paragraphs to complain about it was a better use of your time?

It's a drawbridge. If you can't figure it out inside 5 minutes, then you have more serious problems to deal with.

But all that legalese is irrelevant, since, despite the claim of a copyright for optifine by sp614x, there exists no copyright in the US for optifine, nor do there exist any copyrights in the US held by sp614x. I am willing to bet that there are similarly no copyrights for optifine by sp614x in any other government's copyright office, and that's my point: people misuse the word "copyright," which is a legal term with a specific meaning. Including the copyright symbol at the bottom of a page does not magically confer the legal privilege of copyright for this mod, any more so than it did for folks in the 90's pasting them at the bottom of their AOL homepage profiles. Those homepage profiles were not copyrighted, and this mod is not copyrighted. That's the entirety of my point: that the copyright paragraph is entirely false.

I usually don't get involved in these types of things, but I just had to in this instance. Virtually everything you've said in this thread is categorically false, incorrect, misguided, and for the most part just flat-out wrong. You've yet to state a single correct fact, which is itself an amazing feat of grandmastery. Kudos for that.

In the United States, and in virtually all countries that honor the Berne Convention, copyright is a well established set of principles. And you managed to misunderstand all of them.

FACT: If you create an original work, then you own the copyright to that work. Period. You do not need to register said copyright for it to apply. You do not need to include a copyright mark. Creation alone confers copyright. Now, copyright registration gives you greater enforcement powers, but the laws of copyright apply to anything a person creates.

    Relevant law: 17 U.S.C. § 102a
"Copyright protection subsists, in accordance with this title, in original works of authorship fixed in any tangible medium of expression, now known or later developed, from which they can be perceived, reproduced, or otherwise communicated, either directly or with the aid of a machine or device."

FACT: If you base your created work on another work, then you have created a "derivative work".

    Relevant law: 17 U.S.C. § 101
"A “derivative work” is a work based upon one or more preexisting works, such as a translation, musical arrangement, dramatization, fictionalization, motion picture version, sound recording, art reproduction, abridgment, condensation, or any other form in which a work may be recast, transformed, or adapted."

FACT: Only the copyright holder of a work has the right to create derivative works based on it, or to authorize others to do so:

    Relevant law: 17 U.S.C. § 106
"Subject to sections 107 through 122, the owner of copyright under this title has the exclusive rights to do and to authorize any of the following: ... (2) to prepare derivative works based upon the copyrighted work;"

FACT: The creator of a derivative work holds the copyright for that work, not the creator of the original work.

    Relevant law: 17 U.S.C. § 103b
"The copyright in a compilation or derivative work extends only to the material contributed by the author of such work, as distinguished from the preexisting material employed in the work, and does not imply any exclusive right in the preexisting material. The copyright in such work is independent of, and does not affect or enlarge the scope, duration, ownership, or subsistence of, any copyright protection in the preexisting material."

    So, upshot time:
    • Mojang has said that it's okay to create and distribute mods (thus, they "authorized" the creation of derivative works by others).
    • If somebody creates such a derivative work, they hold the copyright to that work. Mojang does not.

You can argue otherwise until you're blue in the face. But you're wrong, and you will continue to be wrong.

To get it to work with MagicLauncher, I used Forge. Here's how:

    1. Grab the latest version of Forge. I used minecraftforge-universal-4.0.0.239.zip.

    2. Load up Magic Launcher and do the setup and add Forge.

    3. Run MC once, it should create the /mods folder.

    4. Close, drop [1.3.2]ReiMinimap_v3.2_05.zip in the mods folder. Relaunch Magic Launcher and now the minimap should show up as an internal mod in the setup screen.

    5. Launch and it works. Forge includes the stuff to make ModLoader mods work, and it will load the minimap just fine.

If you're having problems climbing ladders with B3 Ultra, upgrade the copy of Minecraft Forge.

I'm using MagicLauncher with Forge, Optifine, and Rei's Minimap. Found that after I upgraded to B3 Ultra, I couldn't climb ladders, and would fall down them, taking no damage.

I upgraded Forge to the latest build (which is #239 as of this writing) and the problem went away.

Latest Forge can be found here: http://jenkins.minecraftforge.net:7070/job/forge/

http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Upcoming_features says that this will be fixed in 1.2.4.

Therefore I recommend making all the circle stone you can ASAP, if you play on servers where this still works.

Btw, I found out dogs don't follow you(teleport) over an ocean. I befriended 2 wolves and 20km across they weren't there, they only came to me when I got back.

Dogs (and now cats) have the same teleport logic. If you leave land (water or flying), then they stop and stay where they are until you get close to land again, then teleport to you.

However, if you leave land and go far enough away that the chunk the dog/cat is waiting in is unloaded, then they are unloaded with it. They won't teleport to you until that chunk gets reloaded and the dog/cat re-exists in the world.

Probably you'll be able to get water from them. They are, after all, wells.
