    Yeah, the voxel sprites used for items don't support higher resolution textures. It's most unfortunate.

    I don't like the idea of banning custom textures, because quite frankly I dislike the default textures, and would play multiplayer far less often if I was forced to use them. What Notch could lock would be the alpha channel on all block textures in the textures.png. He can already determine if a block can have partial transparency (ice) or if it's limited to being fully opaque or fully transparent (everything else), so I don't see how it's that much of a stretch to make everything but glass and leaves opaque only.

    Yeah, I'd prefer the arms to rotate at a slight angle with the torso, rather than completely vertically. The new animation is still better than the old one, though.

    Hmmm. Something went wrong, then. Those problems shouldn't be there. (Except for the rail, I think that might have been that way for a while. Thanks.) I'll fix them.

    Edit: The splash particles are there. I wonder if Notch removed partial transparency from them, so they're completely transparent.

    Edit #2: Ahh, Notch switched to new, smaller particles. I hadn't realized.

    Edit #3: Fixed, I believe.

    Of course. I like the 16x16 textures.

    Updated to support all the recent game additions.

    Doesn't work too well, as you can see. The voxel sprites don't support anything above the default item resolution. I am not pleased.

    Apparently ambient cave noises will play even if my head is directly next to a torch, so it would seem lighting an area won't help. This annoys me.

    I'd like just the capability to use partial transparency on glass blocks, rather than either fully transparent or fully opaque. I'd like to make just a hint of a pane. Doesn't need to be the default in the game.

    I was excited when I saw that ice used partial transparency, then disappointed when I found that it doesn't work on glass blocks. New version coming soon, with snowy areas galore.

    I'm debating going up to 32*32. I want to retain the pixel art style, but I must admit 32*32 does look good.

    Nope. After I'd killed about a dozen assorted enemies, I switched to peaceful and checked the area. It was just a patch of shadow.

    I think Notch turned up the monster spawns on hard. I loaded my game, and was suddenly trapped in a dead-end mine by a constant flow of all four types of monsters, because I left one small area unlit. I had to barricade myself off, but I couldn't kill them faster than they were spawning. I love the zombie sounds, though. Very creepy.

    I really like this idea. Would add an interesting mechanic to defensive versus offensive warfare, and scouts would have more of a role. Also, you people are forgetting there's already maille in the files - perhaps that could be the second-tier light armor?

    I'll personally call it visium. My Latin isn't great, but from the various online dictionaries, it would seem vis means (among other things) power or energy. The name's also pretty short and easy to remember.
