Also, try using Wolfram Alpha for asking questions, because that's pretty much what it's designed for.

The concept of logic gates was around long before Apple existed.

So did our genes, but THAT went out the window pretty easily.

posted a message on Why is the Human Body Almost Perfect?
22,000,000 years of evolution in our family (Hominidae) alone.

While there are many theories concerning Homo Sapiens' early evolution, a suggestion for our intelligence that's getting more traction is that humans developed from a semi-aquatic primate.

Really, it's too complex of a topic to talk about without doing a lot of research to back what I say. I'd much rather bring about the point that the human body is FAR from perfect. As of right now in our species' history, we're reaching the very limit of our physical and mental abilities (And some studies show that we're beginning new evolutionary paths intellectually, such as AS becoming more prevalent.). The very tallest a human being can possibly grow while remaining stable is just over seven feet, and the highest possible IQ is in the range of around 200, mental conditions/disorders notwithstanding. This being said, humans are incredibly frail; if we fall over the right way, we die. We can't run in excess of fifty mph, we can't hold our breath for hours, we can't jump eight feet into the air, we can't lift two hundred times our body weight. The only things we have going for us are our immune systems and our intellect.

He's one of the smartest, if not the smartest, people on the planet, so if the device fails, I would just talk to him :P

I don't think that you quite grasp this. It's like asking a stand-up comedian off of Comedy Central to do your five-year-old's birthday party. Yeah, it's the same basic thing, but the circumstances are pretty different. Instead of bringing along a theoretical physicist to build you a boat, why not bring a carpenter and an engineer?

no, because they would help me build something to get off the island.

I would take Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, and various other smart people/inventors to help me get off the island.
