posted a message on Grand Creeper

Not sure if anyone has ever thought about there being a new kind of Creeper in the game, but it would be an idea that I'm thinking would be good.

I had three different names that came to mind. Either Grand Creeper, Adult Creeper and Ancient Creeper.

This new Creeper (whatever it's name) is much more dangerous. It is has been Creeping around for a very long time and has become stronger and even quieter and can move faster than a regular Creeper.

It is also bigger in size physically, taller than the players character. It's colour is slightly deeper green and with a different pattern on it, indicating evolution into this new older type.

It has much more health than a regular Creeper and is immune to arrows because of it's thicker armour. Hitting it with a close-range weapon will hurt it but hitting it when it tries to explode will hurt the player, but will still prevent it from exploding temporarily.

When this Grand Creeper explodes, it is a much more massive explosion and has more force that can send the player and any mob nearby a great distance, including high into the air. The explosion can be deadly to anything nearby without proper protection from armour or strong walls. The blast can penetrate through 2 layers of stone.

Thanks for reading. Any questions or additions, please post :)

    It sounds out-of-place for Minecraft.

But considering the variants of skeletons and zombies that there are so far, perhaps this could be a swamp biome variant of the skeleton? It could rise from the bogwater, covered in moss and able to poison the player.

This is starting to sound like my Boggle idea. It would be be cool to have a hostile swamp mob :)

Boggle - New mob that dwells in swamps. Has chameleon-like colour that makes it almost invisible to the naked eye, blending with the greens and browns of the swamp biome. Hides behind and under vine trees. It's natural colour is a dark greenish-brown.

It's stature is very thin and short, not quite as tall as the players character. So thin, it's bone structure can be seen. Has reptile-like eyes and has protruding fangs from it's mouth and just has slits for it's nose. Small Pointed ears and no hair. Is biped and has hard crocodile like skin.

When one is nearby, the player can hear a clicking sound. The Boggle is using this noise to signal other Boggles to join it for an attack. Its footsteps can also be heard.

This mob will attack and retreat, guerrilla style. Very deadly if more than one is attacking. It uses claw attacks from its four fingers on its hands. Can also bite with it's fangs, causing poisoning over time. It is very fast and will circle the player before an attack. Its weakness is fire and will retreat away from it. If hit by fire, will cause it severe damage.

Any questions or additions, please ask and mention :)

I like the idea of the zipline! Too bad it would be limited by the render distance. The glider idea is basically the Elytra, sorry your comment confused me as you can use the Elytra in the Overworld or anywhere else. For parachutes, we have Slow Fall potions. It's not the same, but the effect is similar.

The teleportal.... there's an idea with merit. It is common to make a Nether portal network, but if that dimension could be skipped entirely... I would like that. This would help with people not wanting to go 'too far' from each other, as a simple portal jump would bring you to their spot. Good thought!

Ooh, further thought on the teleportal: involve a nametag during creation, so the linked portals are named. This would guarantee the two portals would always 'know' each other.

Yes, there would be a problem with the render distance with simulation. If added, they would need to include an exclusion for the zipline with it's render distance. Not sure whether this would cause instability with the engine though or cause severe performance drops with multiple ziplines lol.

Yeah I forgot about that potion, but like you said, similar but different. Plus if it's easier to aquire than the potion, could be of use for dangerous terrain or just fun base-jumping activities :)

The Glyder I added as it can take a while to get an Elytra, but I suppose some like that you have to grind for it. Myself, I thought it would be fun to start with something similar earlier in the game.

Yes, name-tagging the Teleportal's would be very useful for discerning which pair is which and easier for navigation :)

I concur with this idea too. More exploration and gives the ability to gather different crafting materials for future craftable items. Also makes sense to have a type of Heaven when there is already a type of Hell :)

I like these ideas, both equally. For the shark idea, could be different types of shark for different biomes / water types. Maybe different difficulty levels for battling certain types of sharks.

posted a message on Easier To Traverse Terrain

I would like to see a few new things added for crafting in the overworld and nether to make it easier to get about the world. Here are a few ideas that I came up with recently. Feel free to add more ideas and items if you feel they would benefit the game.

    - Zip Line: You would need a crafting recipe to make string into rope / line. Hooks for it could be crafted using a tripwire hook and a stick. You would place side of the line at a height then and have physically go to where the other end would be and place it at a lower point. The lower it is, the faster the decent. Useful if using that route regularly.

    - Glyder: Similar to the Elytra, but for the overworld. Make it easier to traverse mountains. It would be fun and give new ways to see & traverse difficult terrain earlier in our worlds. The crafting recipe could be 3 sticks, 2 feathers and 1 phantom membrane.

    - Parachute: Pretty simple this one, but could be fun and give the players the opportunity for base-jumping. Could also give you a sense of security when building high up or when climbing unknown mountainous regions. Crafting recipe could be 3 wool, 2 string. The wool's colour would change the colour of the parachute.

    - Teleportal: A new type of portal, similar to a nether portal, that when walked through, sends the player to another one constructed elsewhere in the overworld by the player, effectively teleporting them across the world. A type of advanced technology that would be acquired a little later in the game for getting around the world. Cannot be used in the Nether. There could be 4 pairs of these portals or one main portal and 4 exit portals at different locations. A Redstone Repeater could be used to switch to which portal you would teleport to with the exiting portal having another repeater on that selected switch number. The Teleportal crafting recipe could be 4 Diamond blocks (corners), 6 Quartz blocks (sides) and 4 Obsidian blocks (top & bottom). Built in the same shape as a full Nether Portal. Activated with flint and steel but instead of a purple portal glow, it is blue like Diamond.

If you have any questions or suggestions about my ideas, that's cool. And again, If you have your own ideas for new traversal items, lets hear them :)

I would like to see more customization within the "Create New World" menu. Specifically, it would be nice to be able to choose such options as:

    - How Much Ore Is Found In Each Vein

    - Height In Terrain & Location Of Where Rare Ores Are Found

    - How Many Forts Are Scattered Throughout The World

    - How Often You Would Find Villages, Mansions and Temples

    - Biome & River Size

    - Customizable Difficulty Settings (Health Taken / Damage Given / Mob Group Spawn Count)

    - Permadeath Option

Thanks for thinking about These additions and reading of my ideas.

Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else was having trouble installing Optifine and has had no previous problem doing so until now.

I discovered my issue was a corruption in Java itself and using a small program called Jarfix ultimately cured my problem. After running this little program I could then install Optifine 1.14.4 - Hope this helps anyone with the same issue.

Hope you are right and it will be sooner than we all thought. I would really like to see something added back to at least choose resource quantities. Sorry for not responding, been busy lol. Thanks for info :)

You really stopped playing because of a change they made in an update when you can just keep playing an older version (and use mods to add anything you want from later versions)? If I did that I would have stopped playing over 5 years ago.

It is possible to mod certain things from 1.13 to older versions, but not everything. I have modded various textures myself for personal use (I hated diorite lol) but some things under the hood cannot. I do use Optifine for a smoother performance and use of AA.

Maybe I will go back to it at some point, but just hope for ease of use, they add customized worlds back in - even if it's an ini file we have to tweak. ATM I am playing other games anyway, but I do hope they give us some info soon :)

I an not happy with the fact that customized worlds was not included in 1.13. I know they said it would be back, but we need to know when. I used it every time I created a new world...

Since I like to create a new world every time a new update is released, I always would make resources easier to find as I like mining but like building with what I find much more. So it is essential I have the ability to change ore generation in my worlds at the beginning. I now cannot... I have since stopped playing because of this which is really not what I wanted.

Please re-add this feature soon and please let us know when that could be. I await this features return...

Thanks in advance for any info on this.
