The answer was not "No, it's not going to happen"
The answer was "It's not possible at this time," which sounds to me like they're working on it.
I don't even think that is considered a response really.. I'm still waiting on a more official one.
If it's not possible, it's not possible. Stop throwing a tantrum. Pretty much every game in the world forbids changing your account name, and there's a reason for it. It's an incredibly complex thing to do. The fact that Notch is even considering it is astounding.
Firstly, insulting the customers is only further reinforcing what I said about pathetic excuses for customer service. If a customer is unhappy with a service, calling them "a tantrum" is grossly unprofessional.
Pretty much every game forbids account name change? Have you ever played Steam? You know, the biggest online game distributor.. yeah, it does this service for you, and it's really easy. So please stop trying to edify Notch for this sorry customer service.
That's a sorry response and doesn't resolve any issue at all. The fact is people are asking for a name change.
~
And the response is "We can't do that, you won't be able to play."
So no, it's not possible.
Like I said, that's a sorry response for something so menial and yet demanded by so many. Simply saying, "No, it's not going to happen" is an undeniably pathetic excuse for customer service, regardless of size or status of the company.
This thread has the most views in the current support forum and yet no response. I have been trying to reach Notch and crew since the beginning of September and not even a remote response.

Session Ident: Notch
[06] <GreyVulpine> Notch - Are you able to change people's nicknames? I've been helping out in #MineCraftHelp, and have had that issue come up a few times. I just pointed them to [email protected].
[06] <Notch> unfortunately not right now.. We lose track of the purchase information when we do, and that's gotten us into trouble a few times
[06] <GreyVulpine> Ah, thank you. I'll pass that along if it comes up again.
[06] <Notch> thank you

Looks like a response to me.

You don't see me bashing any of the "it's amazing" threads.
And for the people that say they love the game, they will love it no matter what is wrong with it.
Game could be crashing 100% of the time during login and one person will come in here and say its still amazing so those poll numbers are skewed.
Why is this update amazing compared to the previous version?
You do realize that there are people who will also hate an update, no matter what is good with it, right?
Your arguments to try and say that the update is lousy is analogous to trying to **** on someones birthday cake and say, "You're gonna die someday, so stfu *Slit wrists, slit wrists*"
Get something worth while to complain about, and in the meantime, relax by playing Minecraft.
By the way, if you want a bug ridden game, play Fallout.
Holy ****, people complain way too much about **** that doesn't matter or is completely ubiquitous anyway. You guys are lucky to have a direct line with the creator of the game and instead of thanking and praising him for his attempt to include himself in a community, you get assholes trying to tell him what to do.
While, on the other hand, companies like Obsidian and Betheseda are completely saying, "**** you, solve your own ****ing bugs" and the community reaction isn't even a fraction of the whiney bitches on this forum.
Seriously kids, shut the hell up and enjoy the game. Got a problem? Take some preperation H and then look at games with real problems. Final Fantasy XIV Online anyone? Oh how about APB?
**** off and lock this piece of **** because mother ****ers are going to attention ***** as best as they can.

Noob.
String, feathers, and arrows.
Yes; people have said having issues fighting mobs - do you read?
Yes; people who are not pansies, like you, fight mobs and like it instead of hiding or putting the game on peaceful.
I would not have made the video if people had not asked for it dumbass.

Just a quick question... How did you get your inventory GUI, icons, and textures?
I'm using a mix of SMP's texture pack with my own work on some of the select items. Though, mostly SMP texture pack.
Why would we need a video of this? There's no science involved, just run up to a / / , hit it multiple times, rinse and repeat. Besides, it's not required to kill mods by any means. You could literally play for weeks on end and not have to fight a zombie a single time.

I wasn't even responding to you, dude.
It was a general indirect response.
My god you're an angry person.
I didn't even read your last comment after the first quote response (and passively noticing the last quote response), honestly, but something tells me I'm not missing much.
You're just hell-bent on fighting with me, aren't you?
Don't call me an asshole while you're trying to start a fight, it's unbecoming :smile.gif:
How is that pretentious?
I'm not trollin'.
I just thought it was obvious from watching them.
But apparently everyone else lacks the capability to discern the truth except you. Did I ever even say that they were fake or real?
Sitcoms don't pretend to be real, so the suspension of disbelief is inherent, wouldn't you agree?
Sitcoms DO pretend to be real, that's why it is called acting.
You of course then have reality TV shows that claim to be actually real whereas several are scripted. These ones are still inherently humorous regardless of their authenticity.
I didn't really intend to debate the merits of fictional verisimilitude (I think thats the first time I've ever gotten to use that word), I was just trying to be informative.
No one cared for the information. It was a joke and did not require any confirmation from your pretentious ass over whether or not they were real.
Haters gonna hate, eh?
Right. Insinuate others are stupid and gullible but then claim to be the victim. Typical of an asshole.

Yeah perhaps you're right.
I just made this video because of the popularity of an older thread on the things I talked about within.
