Oct 23, 2014OnlyThePie posted a message on 1.8.1 Pre-Release 3 Ready For Testing! No, but they should just release 1.8.1 as a bugfix update, and when more are found, fix it. That's what they've always done, no reason to change it. That's the whole point of adding the X.X.1 or X.X.2Posted in: News

Jun 17, 2014OnlyThePie posted a message on EULA Revisited: an Updated Q&A From MojangI'd think this is a wonderful idea, if it weren't for the fact that they're allowing people to charge for access to the server. I feel like a lot of greedy jerks are going to charge for access, restricting those of us who refuse to pay more for a game we already paid for.Posted in: News

The idea is a survival mcmmo server, that runs in a feudal hierarchy system. Most players are peasants, just common players who work and build to live their lives; no special perks, no extravagant wealth. But, they are ruled by Lords, Noblemen of the world. There'd be maybe 4 or 5 Lords per kingdom. Players can choose which Lord they reside under. The Lords are given the ability to tax their peasants to a certain amount (say, 15% max) of their money (which they can get by selling things at a shop), and Lords also have a special shop with slight discounts on some items (to simulate their wealth). Above the Lords is a King, there would be maybe 3 Kings across the server, they have a similar function to Lords, but tax the Lords, and their special shop has even better deals. Failure to pay taxes results in Demotion for Lords, and Slavery for Peasants. Slavery would function similar to a prison server. Players are sent to an island, and work until they have enough money to pay off their debt. The interesting part is players can challenge their direct superior to take their role. A Peasant can challenge a Lord (Any lord, not just their own) to combat, the winner gets the Lord's position, the loser becomes a Peasant. Lords can challenge Kings, in a similar manner. There would be restrictions on how often a player can be challenged.

Your age: 16
Name of proposed server: Dominion
How much RAM you want: Probably 1 GB max to start out with.
How many player slots?: 20-30
Preferred server location?: North America, Eastern Coast is best.
Describe your server idea: The idea is a survival mcmmo server, that runs in a feudal hierarchy system.
Why you want this server: Because I think it's a good idea, and I think it would be nice to have a survival server that caters to regular players, and those seeking more of a challenge.
On a scale of 1-10, how badly do you want the server?: 7
Proposed Plugins: Something for permissions for sure, possibly World Edit, NoCheat, and a Shop plugin (there are several I would use)
How do you plan to generate money?: Seeing as EULA restricts game-changers, players could buy Titles, Nicknames, maybe Tax Get-out-of-jail-free (we'd personally pay the Lord/King, but I don't know if that's EULA fair).
Do you already have a community? If so, how many active players? If not, how will you be getting players?: I don't have a community yet, I figure forum and website advertising is the best way, I have a few friends who may be interested too.
What makes your server special? Why should I join your server instead of that other server?: I feel the idea is unique and fun. I looked into it, and found no servers even close to similar to this one.
Is there a reason why you can't pay for this server?: I'm in debt to my parents, so all the money I'm making (which isn't much, because of my age) goes to them right now.
What is your preferred method of contact? Skype? PM?: Skype me at Thomas.Silton, or post on this thread.
What you will do for the company in return: I only need a sponsorship of probably 3-6 months until I can get a steady inflow of Donations. Once I get that inflow, you will recieve 25% of all Excess donations (along with what we pay you for the server of course), and for each month you sponsored us, you get one month of 50% excess (EX. if I need the sponsorship for 4 months, for 4 months after I get steady, you get 50% excess instead of 25)
Thank you, and have a great day!
