1. Slender Man is impossible to create, as he would require a custom mesh for his height and tentacles.
2. Slender Man is neither monster nor myth, he was created on (4chan? SA? I don't remember) as a 'create a supernatural photo' contest entry.

Jan 11, 2010Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single PlayerQuote from DragoonEnRegalia »http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douche (Quotes from the article.)
"Douche" - "A douche is a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons, or the stream of water itself." The word "douche" comes from the French language, in which its principal meaning is a shower."
Quote from DragoonEnRegalia »The word "douche" comes from the French language, in which its principal meaning is a shower."

Quote from DragoonEnRegalia »meaning is a shower."
Quote from DragoonEnRegalia »shower."
Not 'put something out', 'put a liquid on/in something'.
EDIT: The word you're thinking of for 'put something out' is, as was said above, 'douse'.
Nov 16, 2009OmegaX123 posted a message on On the subject of hacks and griefing (yes, I know, another one)Posted in: DiscussionQuote from Arzock »Hacks don't cause griefers, WoM does though.
How do you figure?
Nov 15, 2009Posted in: SkinsQuote from A.I. »Despite the digression here, it can be summed up with, "It currently can't be done anyway."
I've heard (and seen, though not in my own experience) that transparency does work in singleplayer, so not quite 'can't be done', considering the original request was 'invisible skin', not 'invisible skin for multiplayer'.
Nov 15, 2009Posted in: SkinsQuote from Levex »Whatif we only enable it for OPs? So that OPs can spy on newcomers. :laugh.gif:
That would be a good suggestion, imho as an op, but I don't know if that's possible, or if Notch would agree that it's a good idea.
EDIT: Good idea because of griefers and such, not 'spying' or 'newcomers'.
Nov 14, 2009Posted in: Classic - Survival ModeQuote from Suckade »Also - what's with people making a coffin of indestructible blocks around the spawn point?! lol - It's SO annoying!
Do you mean on servers, or in singleplayer maps? If the former, that's to prevent/reduce/limit griefers.
Nov 6, 2009Posted in: SuggestionsQuote from Chrstfer »quite a nice idea. it seems somewhat influenced by my idea.... maybe.... irdc... just remember creds are nice!
Not everything with the name "God" in it has anything to do with your idea. In fact, this idea appears to me to be a single-player (or multiplayer once Survival goes MP) idea, script-enforced rather than rule-enforced. Basically, it sounds more like "Black & White" (old PC game) than your idea.
Nov 5, 2009EDIT: Sorry, I was stupid, should've created my own thread for the Doctor at least. But still, here's the preview of my edits to the gasmask skin, since it's appropriate to the thread and was done both in appreciation for the thread/skin and as a Doctor Who fan.Posted in: Skins
(original post, with the extraneous stuff stripped out)
I re-tooled it (for personal use, of course) to a certain "empty child" themed concept. "Are you my mummy?"
EDIT The Second: The base skin I used is my own personal edit of underd0g's 'emo' skin, which I created (late to the party, as I only just bought the game) as several people on his server were doing "underd0g cosplay' skins.
Oct 28, 2009I like the idea, myself, speaking as both a player and an op, PROVIDED the sport is kept within arena boundaries. The name could use work (spleef isn't a 'nonsense word', it has its basis in the word 'grief', which the game itself is a controlled/confined version of, so why should other minecraft sports not follow suit?), however.Posted in: Discussion
Oct 28, 2009/agree w/Vladimire. Also, best to make SURE it's confined to an arena, as it's been apparently recommended to ud to that he consider pushing as griefing (with possible exceptions similarly to the way there are for "spleef").Posted in: Discussion
Oct 28, 2009Posted in: Alpha - Minecraft ServersQuote from ZalgoHeComes »So, I was kicked but rejoined to try to ask an OP about why hacking out of prison isn't allowed, even if I had already been let out and accidentally hit R and put myself back in.
Rules are rules, no exceptions (unless pre-approved).
Quote from ZalgoHeComes »He wouldn't even try to explain why its a rule, he just kept calling me annoying and threatening me.
A warning is not a threat. I wasn't there, but if an op says (which I assume he said) 'if you do that again you'll be kicked/banned', it's an official warning, not a threat.
Quote from ZalgoHeComes »A bit later, while I'm still in the jail (He wouldn't let me out), 2 more people join.
I spilled my drink on my lap as the OP let us all out, and as I looked up at the game I saw him close it back up and laugh at me.
Laugh at you? Doubtful, our ops are, in my experience, accommodating to players unless the server's closed at the time, for repairs or similar.
Quote from ZalgoHeComes »Then he wouldn't open it up again, so I said "Since I would have been out anyway.... Poof!" and noclipped out and stood by him.
Again, rules are rules, no exceptions.

May 28, 2012Why Europe... I'd have more chance of going if it was in North America, *anywhere* in North America, than I do if it's in Europe... Although if it's in the UK, I do have family there... but the travel expenses...Posted in: News
Nov 24, 2011@all the people quoting Yogscast's "We didn't get paid" and saying they're demanding payment/whining about lack of payment (whether you're on the side who thinks they should or shouldn't have gotten paid): You're missing one little thing: They said "we didn't get paid and we didn't demand payment. Notch claimed they 'demanded he pay them', they're just refuting that, saying they didn't.Posted in: News
Nov 23, 2011Posted in: Newswth does ddo stand for
Distributed Denial Of Service.
And both most people here and the Yogscast got one thing wrong: Notch never said they "crossed out his autograph and said '**** you' to the kid", he said they "said they should cross out his autograph and write '**** you' instead". Which I believe never happened, because as has been said, the only time the Yogscast saw Notch was during the interview, so Notch probably got the information second-hand, and we all know that for every Yogscast fan there's between 0.5 and 2 Yogscast haters (and millions who haven't even heard of them), and many of these haters know how prone to cursing they (Yogscast) can get in their videos.

So if we dont come on minecon we wont get 1.9?
Have notch gone crazy?!?!?!?!? It cost like 10000 dollars to goto vegas only cause of an UPDATE?!?!?!? Am i going crazy tooo?????
No one is getting 1.9 ever! At Minecon he's releasing Minecraft 1.0 (without the Alpha or Beta label, the first full release), and 'at Minecon it's being released' does NOT mean 'got to Minecon to get it', all it means is 'he's pulling the metaphorical switch that releases the code into the wild while he's at Minecon'.
Also (moved from the post below, apologies for doubleposting):
Quote from RickCrafter
quote from one other poster, and a quote from the OP, referring to the definition of a 'code freeze' and the misguided idea that it means 'no more modding' - snipped
The code freeze is more 'they're limiting themselves by choice' than 'they're changing the code in such a way that it can't be altered no matter what'.
EDIT: And by 'limiting themselves by choice' I mean 'deciding that, no matter what awesome idea they come up with, they won't change any code other than to fix bugs and polish existing features'.

Oct 18, 2011It's a TEMPORARY freeze, people. Minecraft 1.0 (not Alpha, not Beta, just Minecraft) is coming in a month, and Notch and his team have said from the beginning that they plan on continuing to update long after live release. Why else do you think there was that whole kerfuffle over "Alpha buyers get all future updates free, but Beta buyers are only guaranteed bugfix and necessary/required updates free"?Posted in: News
Oct 6, 2011Posted in: NewsLeveling up,
Mandatory, but not necessarily a 'bad thing' or an 'rpg thing' (there are even some fps games where you 'level up')
Minecraft is about choice. You can choose to enchant/brew, or you can choose not to.
I think that the glass pillars are the debug pillars for the strongholds jeb tweeted about.
Pretty much confirmed pages back.
Oct 3, 2011Posted in: Newsmeh, not very realistic.
1: zombies burn in daylight
2: tnt cannon without redstone? you wish... or rather, you mod.
3: hollow stone aswell, you would never find it in vanilla minecraft. ever.
4: and the creeper, nobody saw no creeper behind him, or a good creepers spawn place. they can't teleport (unless it's an endercreeper)
apart from those nerd-rages, pretty good.
All good points I didn't consider at first. Nonetheless, still good, as you said. They captured the 'feel' of getting caught in a creeper ambush, at least.
Oct 3, 2011Not so much a 'twist' (you expect one thing, then BOOM, something completely different happens) as a 'surprise ending' (you don't know what to expect, then something happens). Good vid though. Always love it when 'IRL games' gets pulled off properly.Posted in: News
Sep 30, 2011OmegaX123 posted a message on 1.9 Updates: Possible Potions, Exciting Enchantmentsour idea sounds cool, but AS WELL AS, rather than instead of, the magic system. Give people a choice, to go the techie route or the occultist route. It's a sandbox game, which by definition, is all about choice.Posted in: News
PS: Mr. 'Moral Compass' up at the top of this page (in article view, don't know where that post is in thread view from the forum link): I have a very strong moral compass, and I love the magic additions. Magic isn't necessarily evil, and besides, we're talking about VIRTUAL magic in a VIRTUAL world.

That said: **** move, Bethesda. You don't own the word 'scrolls' any more than I own the word 'computer'. Just because I use it (the thing and the word) all the time, doesn't give me any right to sue other people for using it, same goes for you.
My thoughts: This is just an attempt to scare an 'infant' development house, shake them down for lunch money. That's right, I may love Bethesda, but I say they're becoming just another playground bully.
