Oh my GOD, are people honestly complaining about the sorting in the crative inventory!?
How goddamn braindead do you have to be? Seriously? I try to avoid flaming here but sweet jegus how thick must you be to dislike having things sorted? It's inconvenient for maybe the first 5, 10 minutes of using it, until you learn where everything is, then it's WAY faster and more efficient. Plus there's not an easy way to access survival inventory and there's the search box now!

Exalm; multiplayer was originally a secondary add-on to the game. Thus when it was first added it was basically a hack and incredibly buggy. They fused MP and SP because it's not effective to troubleshoot both at once. Backporting everything they've done to the 1.25 codebase is idiotic and would be way, way more work, would delay the release and the bulk of the work Mojang has done would be a complete waste. I think they're working in the right direction. They seem to be fixing a lot of backend stuff and that's great. And yeah the new fused SP/MP code is messy now, it's still pretty new, it needs time to be patched and improved and streamlined. If you don't like it, nobody is forcing you to play.
If you don't like it fine, that's your choice, but don't demand that Mojang do what YOU want, because it's their game and they'll handle it how they bloody well please.
Also: anyone who's having worse performance, that is just a side effect of performance tweaks; there's so much variety in hardware and drivers that code which works amazingly for one user might not work at all for another. Usually it's not that drastic but some combinations of hardware and software just don't play nice. Anyone who has ever used Second Life probably knows this all to painfully well.
am i like, the only person who has never wanted to use textures or mods? :?
some people, judging from the stuff they post here it seems like all they do in minecraft is try out new mods and textures... meanwhile I jsut play the damn game.

At any rate: a nether portal could only naturally occur if the world generator was reprogrammed to randomly spawn them. End of story.
