    posted a message on 1.12 - JSON Text Component (for /tellraw, /title, books, signs)

    Thanks,i missed that, but it still doesn't work. The first time i put

    {Text1:"{text:\"Hello\",color:blue}",Text2:"there"}

    through the converter to get

    {"Text1":"{text:\"Hello\",color:blue}","Text2":"there"}

    Using the command

    /setblock ~ ~1 ~ minecraft:wall_sign 0 replace {"Text1":"{text:\"Hello\",color:blue}","Text2":"there"}

    caused me to crash with a malformed JSON error. I then put the converted code through the validator and it said that it was correct JSON, returning

    {
        "Text1": "{text:\"Hello\",color:blue}",
        "Text2": "there"
    }

    I replaced the current JSON with this validated version in the command block and re-ran it. This time, a sign was generated but without any text. My only explanation might be that it now contained the correct spacing and newlines, although it was still blank. Any other suggestions? Could you please provide me with a working copy of code so that I might test/work from that? Thanks a bunch.

    This is a fantastic resource but I can't for the life of me get a single JSON sign working - even when I directly copy/paste from the correct/working examples. I am playing in snapshot 16w02a so that may be the cause of it but could you please help me out if it's not? JSON books work just fine... :)

    No problem. If you're messing with scoreboards then I would always recommend a thorough look through the commands/scoreboard section of the wiki first. There's always a bunch of stuff you didn't know that you didn't know as well as some handy examples for things you thought you knew or knew you didn't. :P

    This command does work, the error you get might be from other item entities in your world but the item you want to give the score to is given the score anyway, you can check that by looking at the scoreboard sidebar display

    /scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar Item

    I already checked that. Nothing is getting appended to the objective Item.

    Sorry! never mind, I had a typo... :-/

    posted a message on Kill specific items on ground.

    Okay, so I've been trying to kill an endermite spawn egg with the name "QuickTravel" if it has been dropped on the ground. I found this on another post.

    The scoreboard

    /scoreboard objective add Item dummy Item

    Set the score for dirt and stone item entity

    /scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] Item 1 {Item:{id:dirt,Count:1}}

    /scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] Item 1 {Item:{id:stone,Count:1}}

    Kill the items

    /kill @e[type=Item,score_Item_min=1]

    Reset the scoreboard

    scoreboard players reset * Item

    First tried out my own command based on this

    /scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] Item 1 {Item:{id:"minecraft:spawn_egg",Damage:67s,tag:{display:{Name:"QuickTravel"}}}}

    But when that didn't work I slowly removed parts of it to see what I was typing wrong. Eventually I resorted to the original command

    /scoreboard players set @e[type=Item] Item 1 {Item:{id:dirt,Count:1}}

    and that still didn't work. Can someone please help me out by telling me where I/this command is going wrong?

    Most of the errors look like this: [23:05:01] The dataTag does not match for ff7b2356-fe86-4708-b0b0-3e182586a42f

    which means very little to me. Thanks :)

    What is your Minecraft username:

    How old are you:
    17

    How long have you been playing Minecraft:
    Since about 1.6 beta

    Do you accept our rules:
    I wouldn't have it any other way! :P

    What type of player are you:
    I am an avid programmer, though I don't know many languages yet, so I have spent the past few months setting up command block systems that mimic plugins and magic spells etc. though I doubt that you would allow me to do that here as that would require OP and creative mode, however I would gleefully research and advise commands and redstone placement in single player if you ever want to implement such systems into your server - even if its as simple as seeing other player's health above their heads or hearts next to their name when tab is pressed. Other than that, I *think* I have above average skill/understanding of redstone and like to make semi/automatic contraptions. Mostly, I like to build but i get bored of my projects easily or when i'm finished, something terrible (like a map reset or griefing) happens days later and i generally quit the server. I really suck at fighting, but have recently gotten better at PvE so I (hopefully) won't be dying too often.

    What can you offer to our community:
    My plans this time are to build a base of epic proportions and start a shop. I picked this server because it was advertising a good community and a good community = a good economy... most of the time. Obviously, plenty of redstone contraptions will also be present! :)

    Any questions or clarification:
    How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

    Dude, get essentials for your server, you can do /home instead of using coordinates

    The /spawn command is a plugin, but you can alternatively use /tp @p [coordinates]

    Yeah, i know but i was interested in doing everything we could do back with server plugins with a vanilla server :P (because the latest version of bukkit had not yet been released)

    Okay this one WILL work in the place of the first command:

    /testfor @p {SelectedItem:{id:minecraft:rabbit_stew,tag:{display:{Name:"Eternal Rabbit Stew"}}}}

    I have tested it this time.

    What is it that you are unsure about with the second command?

    Sorry the SelectedSlotItem:0 means that it'll only work if the item is in the far left of the hotbar. I thought it was if an item is selected in the hotbar...

    posted a message on Player health detector/Item removal

    You could use a piston to create a pulse much like how you get a pulse from a lever e.g. repeater feeds into a sand block with a piston below it and then a repeater feeds out. The only problem then would be if you want it to trigger again the command will first need to fail before it can succeed again. So i propose the system I devised in this picture:

    2015-05-02_16.23.16

    If the command has been successful, the piston will be raised thus allowing the pulse through.

    Well the problem with number 2 is that it has a space. /testfor is one word.
