Check this out! So a while ago I started making a guide for the Super Hostile Series.(Asked permission to vechs of course) feel free to check it out if you want. I only have the first few dungeons of SOF II done and the Victory Monument so uh.. Tell me what you guys think so far :smile.gif:
They do the same damage as wood 2 hearts for non crit and 4 for crit hits. Only difference obviously is amount of hits and the ability to procure the materials. Gold would be difficult because it would either have to be given to you which is possible or mined via iron. I said wood because that's much easier to balance for vechs. He doesn't have to be extremely accurate about what he gives you once you get to the point of unlimited wood.
Also about the critical hits since critical hits makes the game easier having iron would make it twice as easy because iron swords can do 7 hearts of damage and have much better durability.
Good point. Also, thanks for clearing tht up for me. Didn't exactly know that. So, you're talking about a map were your "stuck" with wooden supplies for awhile? Then its gonna be a pain finding those ores.
I just think a map where you're forced to use a wooden sword would actually be super challenging and would make a map truly rom hack hard.
While the wooden sword does have less durability, there is still the crappily designed "jump and strike" critical hit system which makes fighting alot easier. Maybe golden swords instead? They seem like crap.
It would be kinda funny to have a "hostile" version of hills of moo wouldn't it? (think of the "Amazing Pig Room from labyrinth) Basically, the cows spawn and knock you off the edge. Just an idea :wink.gif:
Is it wrong that I read the signs in Glados' voice?
HA! I cracked a smile at that one! remember when vechs imitated GLaDOS's first line in portal 2? it went something like this: I've been really busy making maps. You know for people to play them. YOU MONSTER. Lololol!!
If something takes "an eternity" to finish, some players and LPers might be discouraged, so make sure you can actually beat it. Also, remember the more areas there are, the bigger the file size. Considering yours will have several monuments, the size could easily go over 250MB+.
Yes, you In fact make a very good point. I already have 2 levels done and the tutorial starting area which only takes up 3 MB. More like 3.5 to be exact. Well the first area is composed of a giant stone cube with the levels inside it. This area is simple because it is the first area. However, the next "Parts" are ALOT more complex. So I'm thinking the file size to be around 40 or so. A map smaller than Legendary basically. So yeah, I'm not worrying too much about the file size as the map will probally have about 15 levels, small medium large sorted into like 5 parts so yeah. If theres any messed up words sorry I'm typing this on my Android. freshman reportcards come out In a week so I'll "permanently" have my laptop back with internet. :dry.gif:
