Amazing mod from what I've seen but i can't seem to get it working this is all i see when i load up with the mod and the only effect that works is the falling leaves and also i am using shaders and optifine for other mods.

You're using an old version of Optifine. I get the same issue with HD_U_A4. Update to HD_U_B5, and it will go away.

    Version 1.0.7:
    • Fixed color issue on certain modded grass blocks
Just a minor fix. Solves the issue with Aether mod, as an additional bonus fixes the same issue for a few BOP grasses too (which I've added to the block types).

@FisherOfWhen: what Bamboo Mod are you having problems with? Can you provide a DL link? The one I found had no sakura leaves.

I'll look into the color issues of course - Aether and Bamboo both.

    Hey @OctarineNoise!
I was wondering if it would be possible to reshape the watermelons and make them look non-cubic?
I think it would look amazing xD

I'm still thinking about how to solve the fallout from rounded logs, and they're only chamfered along 4 of 12 edges. Give me a break :P
    Quote from Cineminecraft»

Pretty sure they were in the old better trees and leaves mod but Octarine decided to abandon those, I might be wrong.

I think BG&L didn't have those. You might be thinking of Wild Caves.

The thing with stalactites & stalagmites is, they require more complicated placement algorithms than the stuff I have, or they would look bad. Even the method I use for reeds & coral would be too simplistic. Since BF is visual only, I'd have to perform those calculations every time the world renders. That's a crazy performance hit.

I believe such things are best solved with worldgen, and actual blocks (just like Wild Caves). Something I decided early on that Better Foliage will not have.

So, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and make the transition to CurseForge. You can check out the project page here. I've spent half the day writing and re-writing text, making and re-making screenshots... And still not ready. But it's a start.

Also, since CurseForge supports having multiple pages per project (kind of like a wiki), I'm planning to put all the resourcepack how-to information in order.

I hope Better Foliage can reach a wider audience this way. CartLivery got 350 downloads in 8 days on CurseForge. Before that, 1880 in 8 months. You do the math...

Don't worry, I won't stop checking this thread, of course.

    thanks for the work
also some aether trees dont have grass under the logs

Aether adds its own grass and dirt, and it's not recognized. If you'll notice, you don't have short grass either.

Put this in your grass whitelist: net.aetherteam.aether.blocks.natural.BlockAetherGrass
and this in your dirt whitelist: net.aetherteam.aether.blocks.natural.BlockAetherDirt
so BetterFoliage features will work correctly.

I'll add it to the defaults in the next version.

Hello, how do i get the locomotive from the front page picture the mini steam engine i figured it would be with the furnace cart or something that's one of the main reasons i really want this for lol :D

    Thanks.

That's the steam locomotive from Railcraft (see 3 posts above yours).

If you want to play with minecarts, I highly recommend using it, and not just because of the locomotives. There's a ton of cool features in there.

Yes. The mod is purely client-side, aesthetic only.

It does one thing on a server, and one thing only: doesn't crash it :)
