To everyone with Mountain Lion and problems installing or running WorldPainter: I have done some investigation, and apparently in Mountain Lion every installer now has to be digitally signed, which mine are not. But you can turn off this requirement by following the instructions on http://onsoftware.en...-mountain-lion.

I'm not sure it will help, since the error message seems to be different, but could everyone having these problems please try these instructions and let me know if it allowed you to install and/or run WorldPainter?
It worked!! I put the installerless app in my app folder opened it and it worked! :D So excited to start making some awesome maps!

Could both of you try the installerless archive version? You should be able to open it and drag the application to your Applications folder. Note that I don't own a Mac or use Mac OS X, so I don't know the details and can't do much to help, unfortunately.

I know that Apple is making it progressively more difficult to run Java software on their operating systems. I googled around a bit and found a few things you could try if it still won't work: open the "Java Preferences" applet, or launch /Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences.app, or install the latest Java update from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1515.

Let me know if you get it to work, and if so, what made it work!
I too am using Mountain Lion and can't get WorldPainter to work. I updated my Java and tried doing the installerless archive version but it doesn't work. It gives me an error "'WorldPainter' is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash." Is there anything else I can do to try and get it to work?
