This muro picture looks smoother and less scaley than the one I remember from a year or so ago when I last participated in these things.. So maybe.

Explain how I am evil.. If anyone is evil is the child bent on mass genocide that challenges me. I even warn the kid not to step over a line or else they will have a bad time. Not my fault they want to kill everyone and everything. I have to protect the king.
On topic: Variks is good fallen, yessss? So good. Except for his whole prison thing., That is kinda iffy. But otherwise good.

Hey, puns are my Job. I, Sans, can easily make a skele-ton of puns that will be far more amusing than yours Go back to helping Petra and actually do your job as a warden in the Prison of Elders please.
HOW DARE YOU!! I am fighting for a worthy cause... I am the last hope to save the king from a genocidal human bent on killing every single monster in the Underground..

I am currently 16 years old, but I will be 17 in a few months..I hope that does not matter.. I am currently looking to get back into minecraft and I think a chill server with other people might help me a bit. I used to be a huge minecraft player but other games caught my attention and my friends stopped playing.
My PSn is ONECOOLDUDE123

Hi! I am a 16 year old high school student who is also taking college classes. I am looking to try and get back into minecraft after year and a half to two year long hiatus that I took to play other games. I am generally a lone player but I enjoy being on servers and interacting with others while playing, and I am really peaceful when playing except when I feel like messing around with people.

Do you have a mic? Yes
What is your age? 16, will be 17 this summer
How long have you played Minecraft? Probably close to 3 years, but the past year or so I have not played due to other games such as Destiny and Call of Duty taking up my time.
Have you had any experiences with SMP (survival multiplayer) servers? On PC, yes. I used to play with friends all the time on ps3 as well, but have not played minecraft since I got a ps4 in december 2015. I have played on pc servers a few times since then though.
Do you know what an iron farm is (Its alright if you don't)? Ones with villagers that spawn iron golems constantly? Yes, I am familar with those, but I have never built one
Building skills (Pictures would be nice but not required)? Do not have pictures because I previously played on ps3, and any pictures from my pc experience are gone because I had gotten a new computera year and a half ago, losing most of my screenshots from my pc builds. I am a pretty decent builder, but am likely very rusty as I have not played in a while. I am just looking to get back into minecraft (and I am choosing ps4 because my PC is garbage and can barely get 30 fps with OptiFine on a single player world with medium render distance and low graphics quality
Interesting things about me: I am currently in high school but I am taking college classes (Which are also free since I am in high school and the credits count for high school and college. At the rate I am going, one semester after high school is all I will need to get my 2 year degree finished!). I am going to study to become a computer hardware engineer. I play a variety of different games.

Sorry. Ugly, eyesore user interfaces are a personal pet peeve of mine, mostly because all the websites and computer programs are jumping on that particular bandwagon nowadays, and refusing to listen to feedback on the matter. When it's still something that only one person has done, it's just annoying, but when it becomes an ongoing trend, I start to get a bit more irritable in that area.
I like surprises better when I have reason to believe they'll be pleasant.
personally i think the new layout is far from an eyesore ..its actually more pleasant than this (as of today) current layout

big servers and small servers go pay to play
only very few survive
eventually the payers leave and quit minecraft
those servers die
there are no more public servers
servers are now private and home hosted to avoid pricy fees

Well... here is my opinion which i think no one really cares for anyway in this mess^^
This is actually a really good thing to me. It is sad that the gaming industries got stuck into this kind of monetarisation. What i'm talking about is this whole DLC on disk, day one patch and pay 2 win stuff that is commonly found these days. Especially companies like Capcom and EA are very experienced in it which is why this "worse than EA stuff" is the complete opposite of the reality. Stating that perks and stuff has to be there for anyone is exactly the opposite of it.
"But they do it to promote their realms": Yeah, because the small business of Mojang completely relies on these sparse realms and not on the many sells of their games for the various platforms. I don't know where people got this from. I like the theory that Nintendo goes down because they had a loss of money for their very first time on this year. Maybe these are the same people, i don't know...
I actually play on 2 different big servers that exist for quite some time and already for about more than a year. (Hypixel and shotbow)
It is incredible how the server owners defend their postion without any kind of shame. They tell people having "some aspects of pay to win" which is sort of amusing. The tactics that are used are the same as many f2play games that offer anyone the access to a game with the following argument: "Everyone can achieve the same status. We just offer donors a way to make it easier" and "we offer kits to give a different but fair gameplay". While both are often not true we know that accelerating things is a term that can be stretched. If a non donor needs about 5 times as long to get to the same status as a donor then something is really not right. This is no advantage but just covered pay to win and then even badly.
Some perks even destroy the sense of a game. I played mineZ for some time and donors have the access to an item that allows them to escape easily or catch up to someone with ease which negotiates the whole survival aspects as they can just get out of any sticky situation and i don't have to mention the starter kits that are pretty overpowered at the beginning. The good thing on the mineZ server: Ranks are time limited which makes these donors pretty rare. Hypixel has a permanent system which is why normal players are getting rare and you find youself playing against overpowered VIPs all the time.
It's not that i'm frustrated. I play, as i said, for over a year on these servers. While shotbow is still fine, Hypixel got more and more into this cheap pay2win stuff. I would have donated earlier but as soon as some updates were released i didn't wanted to support a Capcom like system.
And i don't have to mention other ("vanilla") servers that give people insane kits to make stealing stuff from others even easier.
This is why i like these changes of the EULA. It is designed to give everyone the same chances. This is why server owners have to create a good atmosphere on a server because satisfied people tend to donate more. I actually donated on the vanilla server i'm playing on because of the friendly staff and community. I don't have any advantages in gameplay and that is fine. With the sum i donated i would receive good perks on other servers.
The people raging about this mostly payed for their rank a lot of money or are server owners themselves. I can fully understand Mojang when things are getting out of control. The server owners use an engine of a game that is not their own but property of a company. If they mess things up Mojang gets the penalty for something they didn't do. This is why the only way to see it is simple: Minecraft is a big game. It is not possible to let customers handle administrative parts that in fact do not exist. Server owners live in a pretty carefree zone as they can always pull back when problems arise. The ones dealing with the consequences is Mojang and as the company is still pretty small it is really hard to handle all the problems.
also a note for ou, there are 3 ranks on shotbow/minez that arent time related, as they are permanent
emerald (i think its 250 or 500 dollars in total donations since you joined? )
obsidian (either 500 or 100 i believe ) but htese are all permanent

Ah, ok I see where you are coming from. Unfortunately your case is not the same for all servers, if all servers were like that, there may never have even been an issue.
However some servers, such as a few I have played on, offer undeniably op perks. On a faction server take "donor chests" for example. These are chests that noone but the person who payed can get access to, giving that person an unraidable stash. Even this really isn't to big of a deal I guess, because the non-paying player can simply build an "unraidable" base.
The issue is when you have servers charging for things like /fly, armor that is enchanted to ridiculously op values that no normal player can get except by raiding the player with its base (oh wait, they would just stash it in their donor chest) and extra /sethomes. So no, in these cases you cannot in any way gain equality with the player who donates, and there is no limit on how far this inequality could be taken.
That's really my issue with the way things currently are, it causes the richest to always be on top and in some cases becomes less a contest of effort and ingenuity, and more a contest of who spends more money.
On a side note, do you know of any faction servers that do make what you have said possible? (ie, everything you donate for is attainable through effort as well).
True, I agree its bad parenting, still, I don't think it is ethical to put kids in such desperate situations (or so the kids think) that they would do this in the first place. While we cannot protect other parents kids from everything, in this case kids that get addicted to servers can become unreasonably desperate. That's why we have TV ratings, to give parents a chance to stop their kid from watching something above their age.
This point is really a debate on weather we should protect other parents kids, or leave that to the parents, and I don't want to get into that here, there are other places for that.
lol, well if a discussion is kept civil (at least ours seems civil to me), I guess this can be the result
instead of an unraidable base...theres somehing even better...
ender chest which is the free version of donor chest
also, things like /fly are good, only when there are rules and stuff as to how and where you can use it, as well as plugins to stop using it and disable it in pvp ..aka one sevrer i used to play on..I
do agree with the armor thing though

Are we arguing about rape here?
Not once did I say anything like "All laws are ridiculous."
I don't know if that's how you read my comment, but that's not what I was trying to say.
The bold part is kind of what I meant by my comment. It was probably not the nicest way to attempt to say that though, so for that I apologize to anyone who cares. I don't think GoldK saw it, but I can't be sure.
yea, i read that wrong. i was tired when i typed that lol

Let me point out another problem with pay to play: it will drive away even more potential players than you would think. Surely everyone here has bought some kind of game or product that was advertised to be amazing, but when you opened it up it turned out to be terrible. Less people are going to want to invest in a server if they can't try it out first. After all, the server owner can put anything they want on the forum post.
and from this, i can many people scamming young kids, even more than before.
*fake example MC forum post*
Join our awesome server!
we have many fun things such as
Our own version of Shotbow's Annihilation
a call of duty zombies replica!
Hide and seek/ block hunt
10 new parkour maps
ranks obtainable without cash!
And best of all, a reallly great kid friendly community!
This server will cost you $200 USD a month to join. AAnd dont worry, thats a normal cost!
*End fake MCV forum post*
Now the kid steals parents credit card, pays the fee to enter , only to find out the IP is fake and it was a scam. Mojang gets angry letters from parents, the cycle continues as before the EULA changes / uprising

If they are trying to make a living on something that was never intended to be the case in the first place, all I can say is, I'm sorry.
If server admins would take the time to think, they might even have to scale down a little, this change could happen with minimum strain.
But all they see is the large profit $$$ signs. Bottom line.
I get my own entertainment from my server, and my friends server, we offer that entertainment free of charge to other players. They bought the game, that is the only charge they need in my opinion. I will also say, that when they request something, more chances then none, they get it, and without a fee.
I don't see any of them as just a number, I see them as "friends".
There is nothing left to discuss between us, because we aren't really getting anywhere, and I don't want things going too far.
mind telling us how big your server is and how much it costs monthly? or let me gues..you run it from home for free on your computer?
servers like hypixel.shotbow, Mineplex, The Hive; they cant live on solid donations alone...they cost like over $1,000 ..sometimes closer to $5-$10K to run in some places... Id like to see you pay that with no outside help while still working your job, paying utility bills at home, feeding your family etc
Jun 20, 2014Posted in: NewsQuote from _Keldt_
I'd expect some sort of "Well it's illegal, therefore it is wrong" response from this.
and to add to that:
rape is illegal and wrong?
Do some people still do it?
with this whole debacle here, im neutral, able to see both sides, but if i had to pick one, it would be against
Jun 20, 2014Posted in: News
Definitely not. That's like saying pay to enter server is pay to win but mojang obviously do not forbid that kind of server. You get the same features everyone has in-game but paying members get to play anytime they want. Gamplay fairness and server accessibilty are two completely different things.
I never assumed we are in a perfect world. If anything, it is the anti EULA people who live in a perfect world where you get to make money off someone else's game for a small cost (or no cost for cracked servers). All I am saying is you must adapt as a server owner to the size of your server in response to the projected decrease in paying players. Does it make a difference if the kid spends his money for perks or server maintenance? You speak as if the parents are getting something if the kid pays for perks. Only young adults or children would think that way about parents.
=its not even that. Some parents (like mine) would view that as a waste, heck, they even view the old 'donating' or better called purchasing, as a waste. They think everything that requires credit cards online is a scam for identity theft unless its something like netflix....Sure other parents are like this
Some parents dont want kids paying for the game twice.
So kids will steal credit cards like before
Mojang will get mre emails from parents about it
half the problem was never solved.
Sure, p2w is gone, replaced by p2p
and those who dont go pay to play will have to rely on donations, since technically "priorty access model" is not cosmetic, it does affect gameplay.
so either way, kids will need to pay, even if prioty access is allowed.
so that means parents will say no
credit cards stolen from parents
Jun 20, 2014Posted in: NewsQuote from ColErr
Who do you think pays for those online CoD servers? Most of the time (on computer versions) the players pay for them. You just don't see the cost because other games don't allow monetization of their game. There are plenty of server owners that will continue allowing you to play on their server for free because they enjoy running it.
Theres a difference between hosting a 12 player TDM lobby on Call of DUty compare to hosting a 5000 player server loaded with mods on minecraft
Jun 20, 2014Posted in: News
Yes and I prefer small and private server because some people enjoy playing with a small group of friends. If you find Minecraft boring with smaller servers, then you are free to stop playing it. You have already given your $27 to mojang and it doesn't matter at this point if you quit playing or not. There are still tons of new potential customers coming in who finds the game fresh and willing to drop that $27 to mojang's pocket. So no. Minecraft multiplayer will not die as long as there are people who are contented playing in a small and private server and new players willing to play it vanilla. Minecraft dying is just an empty threat of greedy server owners hell bent on getting back their source of income.
Then it only means the community doesn't want these servers to exist. All they care about is showing superiority. Why cater to a community that doesn't care about your server? Also, parents are smart enough to know servers are not free and need money to keep going.
Get your head out of a perfect world dude..society itself is greedy and has a "hi, my name is jimmy, whatcha gonna gimme" mindset ..
Sure, maybe a few whole hearted people will do so. but remember a good majority of the community is kids.
Kid: hey can i donate 20 dollars for the server?
mom: what wilol you get for it?
kid: nothing, just the sever needs cash to keep running
mom: its a waste, obviously the sevrer will die anyways if it needs real donations. So no.
then some parents dont want to pay twice for a game.
Jun 20, 2014Posted in: News
No matter which one will happen, it's still minecraft. That's all what matters here. As long as mojang continues to update minecraft, give us ways to customize it through mods and allows us to set a free server, no monetization changes will kill it.
Who said you need to charge upon entry? Why not use priority access model where paying members have the ability to join full servers by filling reserved slots or kicking out a non paying member? It's hilarious how people are conspiring about Mojang being greedy when they can't see the greed of server owners luring and selling digital power to make tons of money out of a game they just bought for $27 or even for nothing if we are talking about cracked servers.
But wait, isnt that something that gives paying members an advantage and is more than cosmetic?
Jun 19, 2014Posted in: NewsQuote from nxsupert
Easy to get around. Just add some NBT data to the item meaning that the person in question can never touch it.
ok, sure , there may be NBT data on it, but what if say theres an x% chance it will drop a diamond with that data. what if user2 gets nine of those after user 1 throws a ton of bombs. User 2 then crafts it into a diamond block, then back into 9 diamonds, which are new diamonds free of NBT data? same for iron, gold, redstone, coal, and lapis. and what if it drops diamond swords, user 2 wears one out a tiny bit, then repairs it in the crafting table giving a new sword?
Jun 19, 2014Posted in: NewsQuote from nxsupert
I have one question about a part of this EULA to do with
Would it be okay to lets say make it so that a person could buy a sort of "Bomb" that when exploded dropped a bunch of items , possible gameplay-affecting items , that everyone but the person who brought the said "Bomb" could pick up?
super easy to exploit
*user 1 throws bomb*
*user 2 who is a friend of user 1 picks stuff up*
*user 2 puts it in chest for user 1*
*user 1 grabs items from chest*
exploited in less than 1 minute

80% of italian servers are like that ( cracked with cracked launcher ). There is a big fuss going on in the italian comunity about going against the eula "all at once" serving the original jar but modified to serve your own authentication sistem, many servers owners are stating that if they do it in the many mojang will not be able to pursue them all, while I'm really against it I've been called "a stup1d old m0r0n not able to make money with games" and muted/banned on many comunities ( not the 2 nation wide one but only the "per server" communities).
I hope one day there will be a law forbidding under 18 to play online games.
that would be impossible to check..
10 year olds play call of duty\
and the ESRB says "Online Interactions Not Rated" on ALL online games.
hw will you check if someone is over 18 on a game? credit cards? Kids will steal them from their parents like they do with minecraft
