Same thing here, on Windows 7. I was able to update a few hours ago, but had to delete my minecraft folder to install a texture pack and now I can't even play single player lol :sad.gif:.

Since you are the host, all of your ports could be closed (not saying they are, but if they were I mean) and you could still get on. The only port that concerns you is 25565 but that is what my problem was, I could log in but others couldn't =/. Routers are never easy :sad.gif:.
have the server host type in the server thing "tp <player1> <player2>" without quotes and player 1 will be teleported to player 2, of course replace with names and no "< >'. As far as I know everything is invincible =/.
I purchased this game today, and I believe the process went through because I got a confirmation e-mail and when I click on Minecraft Alpha In-Browser it does not say "you must purchase the game". So I see it say "loading" for a split second and then just goes to a white screen. I updated my Java today, tried on the most recent version of Firefox and Internet Explorer. The internet bottom bar says "Done" so it is done loading. I tried downloading both of the links for the .exe and once again they load for a split second and goes to a black screen. If it makes a difference, I just started playing for the first time on yesterdays "free to play" weekend. Should I delete some folders or something?
