You know, sometimes when I read about changes in future minecraft versions, it just feels like minecraft is still in beta...

This mod adds minimalist parts for expanding vanilla redstone automation, and many other things.
Command small robots!
Build terracotta armies!
Spinning blades of death!
Twist the very fabric of reality!
Giant killer robots!
1. Download and run the Minecraft Forge Installer. The version of Forge that I'm using is given by the download link. Anything newer will usually work, and sometimes older versions will work as well.
2. Check that the forge install worked by running the client (or the server). Forge information should be on the title screen (or in the server's logs). Close Minecraft.
3. Put Factorization.jar into the mods folder.
First, you must discover the Lost Treasure Map. It was last seen near diamond ore. Treasure maps are very rare and very fragile, so treat it gently. Right-click the map once, and follow it to find a well-guarded stash somewhere on the surface. This stash will contain a Logic Matrix Programmer, and occasionally a few other useful materials.
The Logic Matrix Programmer can then be used in the recipe below to create the Factorization Manual, which can teach you everything worth knowing!
Or here's an outside-of-Minecraft copy of the manual.
The license is now MIT. Feel free to use it in ALL the modpacks.
Dropbox broke.
Here's FZ for 1.7.10 (err, I think?)
And for 1.8 (I do not recommend using it. The port was incomplete.)
Here's a big fat list of every version ever.
Please report bugs! But for faster customer service, report them to me in #factorization on irc.esper.net; I don't make a habit of reading this thread.
If something seems like it should be easier than it is, let me know; I tend to have a bit of a heavy hand with these things. Small/simple/tiny feature requests may be welcomed, but Ideas are not.
You can use FZ in your modpacks.

Hammer (or FZDS, for FactoriZation Dimensional Slices) is a WIP engine upgrade for Minecraft that gives it the ability to move and rotate chunks arbitrarily. It is used to implement the Colossi and the Twisting Block, with more things to come. Unfortunately there are some bugs that happen with Optifine & bukkit/spigot/cauldron right now, and I'm not really able to fix them. However there will also be bugs with other mods, so please let me know about them. Hammer can be disabled by editing hammerChannels.cfg.
If you're having problems with a colossus or anything else that uses Hammer, you can use the "/fzds +" select and "/fzds remove" to kill them. Or it can be disabled from hammerChannels.cfg.

ExplorerCraft provides map recipes and items to make it easier to explore and to manage maps. ExplorerCraft provides an Atlas that can hold up to 36 maps, updating all of them as you travel and displaying the best it can find for you at any time. You can create new maps perfectly aligned to existing maps without having to go to the center of the mapped region, either beforehand at a workbench or as you travel with an Atlas. It allows you to copy overlapping regions between existing maps - no more wasted exploration! It provides a new way to expand maps which is easier than the vanilla mechanics *and* keeps the information already on the smaller map. Finally, it provides a marker system with 16 different colored markers. These can be placed or removed on maps in the field, and once placed, appear on map in atlases, in your hand, and on item frames.
Vanilla map recipes still work as before if you prefer them.
Now available for 1.8.9: ExplorerCraft for 1.8.9 Requires ZenoTechnology for 1.8.9to run.
ExplorerCraft sometimes has to use map numbers before actually making the maps, for technical reasons. If the map is not actually made, the number will be temporarily skipped. ExplorerCraft remembers these numbers and will use them later when possible.
1.8 download link: ExplorerCraft for 1.8(SSP, SMP, and LAN MP) Requires ZenoTechnology 1.1 to run
1.7.2 and 1.7.10 Download link: ExplorerCraft 0.9.8 for 1.7.2 and 1.7.10 (single-player, LAN MP, or server/client)

Requires Forge 804+ for Minecraft 1.6.4 and 1.6.2, Forge 737+ for Minecraft 1.5.2, Forge 1060+ for Minecraft 1.7.2, Forge 1450 for Minecraft 1.8. Tested with Forge 1722 for Minecraft 1.8.9; may work with earlier or later versions.
Installation:
0.9.3 and above: Now simplified!: Place zipped folder in mods file.
0.9.2 and below: Unzip and place in mods Folder. MUST BE UNZIPPED TO WORK!
Features and Recipes:
Hope you find this as useful as I have.

Getting started in AM2 is quite simple to do.
First, you need to find a pool of liquid etherium:
Place an item frame within a few blocks of the pool, and put a book into the item frame, and watch the show.
This will give you the Arcane Compendium, which has everything you need to continue using the mod, from guides, to structures, to items, to bosses.
The Compendium by default is staged to unlock as you go - this can be turned off via config.
Keep in mind, the compendium doesn't limit progress, so even if something is locked, you can still craft and use it. Using and crafting items/blocks that you haven't yet unlocked will unlock them, as well as other items directly related to them.

I have a question... (bug reporting instructions too)
I'm having trouble with Optifine...
AM2 supports Optifine only in the main mods directory. It will not work if optifine is in a subdirectory. Move optifine there and it should work.
Note that disabling optifine by changing the extension to .disabled currently will not work - you need to move it out of the folder completely.
When is the next update?
When it's ready.

Hello. I'm having some problems with the bookcases. Any sort of book from any mod can be put into it, but, strangely enough, the normal vanilla book can not. O_o
Mods that add book(-related) items (which can all be put into it) that I have installed are: Mystcraft, Buttefly Mania, MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod, Progression and Hardcore Ender Expansion.
There is a Bibliocraft configuration setting to allow blank books to be placed in Bibliocraft bookshelves. You can also add specific keywords to the list of accepted keywords that will be allowed, such as Rites to allow the Thaumcraft Crimson Rites book to be placed in bookshelves.
Example:
# Should blank books be allowed on Bookcases? (true or false)
B:AllowEmptyBooks=true
# These are the keywords that are compared against the item names to determine if the item can be placed on a Bookcase. Add more keywords if needed.
S:AllowedBooks=book, map, journal, plan, thaumonomicon, necronomicon, lexicon, print, notes, rites, spell, library, tome, encyclopedia

(regarding rendering issue)
Don't worry about it, it's solved. It was another mod's fault. Routers Reborn was inadvertently turning off GL transparency testing where it shouldn't have been doing so, but for some reason the effect didn't immediately show up after the relevant update. (Or maybe I just didn't spot it right away.)

I just updated BiblioCraft with a few more crash fixes as well as fixes for enchantments on books not correctly showing up with the reading glasses and the reading enchantment not working when put on a helmet.

May 23rd: Updated with fixes for a number of crashes and added a feature to allow fancy signs to retain their data when broken and placed.
June 21st: Updated with fixes for more crashes that have been effecting people. Also fixed some issues with the reading enchantment and reading glasses.
Now supports Minecraft v1.12.2!

If I can get enough support on patreon, I will post the BiblioCraft source code on GitHub with some sort of limited or open use licence.
My second update spotlight where I explain the changes in v1.11.0
My first update spotlight I've done myself that explains the changes in v1.10.0:
Thanks to my good friend ShabbyQ who made this video that shows off the new features in 1.9.0! Check it out!

Also check out my Redstone I/O peripheral mod for ComputerCraft! It adds a peripheral that is meant to connect to lan networks with a lan modem and can easily output or read redstone signals of any strength. Works great for reading the redstone output values of the bookcases with redstone books.

I just release and update. BiblioCraft is updated to v2.4.4 for Minecraft v1.12.2. I've fixed about a half dozen crashes that kept coming up. Some of them had me stumped for a long time, but I had a burst of success this last week and solved a bunch of problems. I also added a new feature to allow signs to retain their data when they are broken and placed back down.
As far as the issue with mobs and chairs, I've been putting some thought into that and I think I might add a GUI to the seat and give you the option to enable/disable mob sitting. Maybe even have it disabled by default. I am planning to do a feature update sometime this summer and maybe I'll work it into that update.

I just updated BiblioCraft to v2.4.0 for Minecraft v1.12.0! Everything has been updated to the new json recipe format. I explained it a bit in a post on my website, www.bibliocraftmod.com. Enjoy!

I just released an update for BiblioCraft. I got versions for MC 1.9.4, 1.10.2, and 1.11.2. This should fix that rendering crash that keeps coming up.
Grab it at www.bibliocraftmod.com

Yeah, this issue should have been resolved in a recent update.
Yup, that is correct, you could safely remove BiblioWoods with no damage. The blocks will still remain and function properly since they are just regular BiblioCraft blocks.
3
I brought BiblioWoods back so we could have the recipes and creative tabs. That is actually all it adds. I left them as separate mods so they are optional, I wont force you to "pollute" your crafting recipes list. ;). Yeah, it is true you can still accomplish the same effect without the BiblioWoods, its just an additional option for the convenience of having the recipes. I also frequently get requests to bring back BiblioWoods and with how I did it, they are actually using the same tech the furniture panelers use and the blocks you get when you craft the recipes in the BiblioWoods are just framed blocks. This also means the BiblioWoods addons are much simpler for me to make.

BiblioWoods is back! I just released 3 new versions of BiblioWoods for BiblioCraft v2.3.1 and Minecraft v1.11.2. I have versions supporting Biomes O Plenty, Forestry, and Natura. Also I just updated BiblioCraft with some fixes (including the tables not connecting in newest versions) for Minecraft versions 1.11.2, 1.10.2, and 1.9.4.

I just updated BiblioCraft with a version for Minecraft 1.11.2 and 3 other versions for older versions of Minecraft (1.7.10, 1.9.4, and 1.10.2). I fixed a lot of bugs and exploits. Hopefully most of the bugs mentioned here should be taken care of. There was a lot of rendering issues in the 1.10.2 version that I tried to solve.
Anyway, for more details and downloads and all that, head on over to my website, www.bibliocraftmod.com
@CearMaster I'll have a look at doing something about the carpets on tables in the next update.

I just updated BIblioCraft and tried to fix the render slowdown issue with JEI and item rendering. I built a model cache system and it seems to be about 10x faster. It was an issue for me too, the performance hit was pretty dramatic. I did a couple other fixes and started work tword a version for Minecraft v1.11.x as well and that is going pretty smooth. No estimate when that will be ready, but I don't expect any major issues like I had moving to 1.9+.
