    Hello Nuchaz,

As I was decorating my treehouse I realised something about the label and map frames that bothered me a little, they are treated as a block. Would it be possible to make them act like item frames, so you can have a gigant map and can directly put a table in front of it, or have a labeled chest and in front of it a carpet. I'm certain that somepeople use the map frames as a wall so maybe it could be a conficurable thing.

Lastly I wanted to note that this mod is already so cool that I cant imagine minecraft without it. Thanks.

I can't make them into an item entity like item frames, but perhaps at some point I could add the ability to "shift" them forward like fancy signs and bookcases can do. If they were aligned with the front of the block, you could place tables or whatever you want on the block in front of them and get the same effect your looking for.

It's the item cases, not the book cases. All other recipes seem fine. All vanilla woods work fine (oak, birch, spruce, jungle). All Bo'P woods do not (acacia, cherry, dark, magic, mangrove, palm, redwood, willow, pine, hellbark, jacaranda). Please see attached screenshots.

And thank you for trying to help.

Ah, I see. I did some checking and it looks like a derped up the recipes for those in that version. Instead of slabs, all the BoP cases use planks. opps. At least they are still craftable though.

We're using version 1.2.1.416 of Bo'P - the recommended version for 1.6.4 Minecraft.

Full list of mods currently on our server: backpack-1.28.37-1.6.x, BiblioCraft[v1.5.5], BiblioWoods[BiomesOPlenty][v1.3],BiomesOPlenty-universal-1.6.4-1.2.1.416, CustomMobSpawner 3.0.0, DrZharks MoCreatures Mod v6.1.0, mapwriter-1.6.4-2.0.17.

I just tried with BoP v1.2.1.416 and tried crafting an acacia bookcase and it crafted no problems. Was it perhaps just a particular wood that didn't craft? Do any of the other woods craft?

Thanks everyone, I'm real close to ready to release my next feature release. I had a couple of things that took longer than I expected, but I just about got it and hope to get it out there real soon. Ive also taken some measures to be more compatible with Archimedes Ships mod. All the BiblioCraft blocks should rotate properly on boats and such (so far they seem to with no problems in my test world). Anyway, stay tuned to www.bibliocraftmod.com for my annoucment, hopefully within the next couple days. ;)

    Dear author.

There is some feature with the display cases, i found discomforting. You could put it on the wall, on the floor or on the table, but when you putting them on the floor (half block height) - they are too low, and when you putting them on the table they are too high. (one and half block height). Is there any way to place them horizontally, to make upper side be just one block height? this position is perfect for observing items, displayed inside - just like in museum horizontal showcase.

Or is it an idea for separate item - glass showcases?)

Another idea are about something, that is good for nine by nine people))) I mean, sometimes architecture is pretty depended on symmetry, and there is no way to place a double bed - it looks ugly, when unsymmetrical to the whole room. What about a single-person WIDE BED? it will take three blocks wide, two blocks length, but in fact will take only half of block range at the each side of the middle. Wide bed could be nice for those who build something just little more pretentious then miner quarters.

I could probably look into adding some more positioning options to the display cases. Maybe after the update to Minecraft 1.8.x. I think that is going to be a good opportunity for me to make some back end changes and make it easier to do certain things.

Custom beds is something that was mentioned awhile back and some folks showed some interest. There was talk about some sort of bedding system that worked like the seats where you could connect them together however you like. I think something like that could be pretty interesting. I hadn't fully decided on all that, but I do have it written down in my notebook of ideas. ;)

Ah, there is a.. well, not a bug, but something unsuspected.

Well, potion shelves support the essentia jars from thaumcraft. That is awesome.

And here is problem: when those jars are labeled, it is become obvious, that they always directed with label to the same direction. So, if on the one wall labels are facing you, on the opposite wall jars face you with their backs.

    Is this fixable somehow???

I'll have to mess with this a bit. I actually didn't think the jars went on the potion shelves. I had to deal with the same label rotation issue on the regular shelves, so I'll likely have to do something similar here.

Hi! I get this client crash when using bibliocraft in an Cauldron server (mc 1.7.10, forge v.1207):

    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.mojang.authlib.GameProfile.(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;)V

    at jds.bibliocraft.rendering.TileEntityArmorStandRenderer.func_147500_a(TileEntityArmorStandRenderer.java:87)

    No errors in server's console.
    Some conflict? Is this bad?

This looks like something has messed with the abstract / fake player class. I see some folks above mention that Cauldren mod / bukkit thing doing that, if that is the case, it is out of my hands. There is a few cases with certain armors where I have to use a fake player to render the armor. So yeah, sorry, I don't think I can do anything about it, your only option is to avoid using the armor stand or switch to another type of server.

I just recently discovered this mod and am playing it on a server with some of my friends. We are also using Biomes o'Plenty, running a 1.6.4 game. Came across a glitch I'm hoping you can help me solve. Item cases. When you try to craft an item case using the Bo'P woods, you get no finished product, i.e. no case. I went into creative mode and was able to find them there. I hung one one the wall and it works just fine. Just can't craft them in survival. Regular (vanilla) wood models seem to be fine. Help?

Hmmm, this is quite odd. This is the first I've heard of any recipe issues with the 1.6.4 branch of BiblioWoods for BoP. It may be possible that BoP has updated to a point where it changed the API so my recipes are no longer being adding correctly. If that is the case, you will likely have to roll back your BoP version to something a little older. I really don't know what else could cause the issue unless you have a mod that messes with recipes in some weird way. My current 1.6.4 with bibliowoods and BoP still work fine, I just tested, but I am running an old version of BoP from the end of last year I believe, so, really old. (v 1.1.3.102).

Wow, thanks! My little sister was making a schoolhouse setting with your mod, and was wondering if there was a way to get the villagers to sit down on the seats.

Looks like everything is working pretty good, so I can say now this will for sure be a feature. The only downside seems to be that villagers don't seem to have a sitting posture so they just stand on the seats, Skeletons seem to sit nicely though. Other than that it seems to work good. The only rule I put in place is the entity has to be named with a name tag and it must be in a aprox 2 block radius around the seat then they will auto-sit.

Sorry about the website being down. I seem to be having some memory issue. I thought I had this fixed, but something is really giving me problem these last few days. Something is eating up all my memory. I just had to reboot the server again a few min ago, it didn't even seem to last an hour that time. That is the fastest it ever ran out of memory. I'll have to do some research and try to figure out why this is happening, hopefully it won't go down too much more before I can get it permanently fixed.

Thanks everyone, I've been working on getting the next feature release of BiblioCraft ready. If you have been following my twitter, you will see a few preview pics I put out. I'm getting pretty close to being done with what I wanted to do in this release. I really only have 1 last big thing to finish and I think I can get that done this week then I can start doing some local server testing and if all goes well I will be ready to release. I'll probably try to update the BiblioWoods with the new items after the release. then go from there. :)

Thanks Nuchaz. I am looking forward to new features like Atlas and multiple waypoints. I do hope you'll keep it realistic with no teleportations and similar overpowered functionalities. In the meantime there is a mod called ExplorerCraft, great for creating aligned maps and map walls. Sorry about the spoiler, with Bibliocraft it makes a nice tandem. Mysterious block hmmm can't wait to see it :) Regards.

I definitely have no interest in adding teleportation or anything like that. I try to consider balance of everything I add with the mechanics of vanilla minecraft. It will likely be sometime after the Minecraft 1.8.x update before I do add an Atlas, but it is something kind of high on my list. ExplorerCraft is very good. He has actually done some of the things I am interested in as far as an atlas goes. Definitely a great mod to use alongside BiblioCraft. :)

I just had a little thought: perhaps a little bonus for the Tinted Glasses, in addition to giving you the normal Biblio-Vision, they could work like Pumpkins in that Endermen won't notice you staring at them if you've got 'em on.

Hey that is a cool idea. I'll have to try to find where they make that happen in the vanilla code and figure out how that is done sometime. I might just implement this when I get a chance and figure out how it is done. ;)

    Hi there!

Your work is just simply fantastic! I have a vote on larges desks, and I'd like to ask some other things:

Chisel carpets. I saw that I can put carpets under the table, but this doesn't work with the Chisel mod carpets. Can you do something with it?
Or make you own carpets? :D

Can you make less "fancy" tables? They look cool, but a little bit off too, from the Minecraft really blocky feeling.
And last: can you make more chair-bases? More massive for example, because that full seatback on 3 thin legs looks funny. :D

    Thanks!

    Thanks :D

Larger desks is something I've thought about doing for quite some time. I probably will get around to adding those eventually.

I'll have to look into the chisel carpets thing. I likely couldn't add them very easily. Right now I basically just have my own model of carpet in with the model of the blocks it supports, so when you add carpet to the block, it goes into a slot and that enables the rendering of the carpet mesh.

More variety in tables and seat-bases could be good. Variety is always good. :) Maybe I'll think about adding some more variations in a future release.

I saw the latest screenshot of the clocks and grandfather clocks. They look fantastic! Are you planning to release those for 1.7.10, or will that be for a future 1.8 release? I'm hoping to start testing a 1.7.10 upgrade before long and just want to see what all I can package into the one update. Thanks!

Thanks :D They will be released for Minecraft v1.7.10. I am currently building on Forge v10.13.0.1180 (current 1.7.10 recommended). Hopefully within the next week or two even. I am quite anxious to finish what I have started on this update just so I can start playing a proper survival game with it myself. ;)

Bibliowoods forestry doesn't work with forestry. I have the latest version of bibliowoods for 1.7.2 and I have the forestry 1.7.2 dev build and the Bibliowoods blocks wont work with the forestry woods Please Help!

Edit: all im saying is the crafting is broken.

I'll have to take a look at this. I may just repost the older bibliowoods for forestry that does work with 1.7.2 for sure. I was sure that change I had to make for the newest version of Forestry would have been backward compatible, but perhaps I was wrong. I'll do some testing and see if that is the case and I will repost a link to a working version is so.

Well, if i post it here, that Sword Pedestals does not accept Tinkers Construct swords, and Toolracks does not accept Mattocks and excavator shovels (hammers and lumber axes are fine), so does author of this mod ever get this message?) (Thanx for this outstanding mod, by the way).

I'll take a look at that stuff when I get a chance and see about adding out-of-the-box support. I thought I had that stuff working, but maybe something changed somewhere. Some of that stuff can be configured / added manually too via the config file, but I feel the tinkers stuff is pretty important stuff, so Ill try to get default support in too.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I would love to see some sort of crossover between this mod and the Carpenter's Blocks mod, in that you construct the shelves and other items from carpenter's blocks, and then you get to customize the material(s) used to make the furnishings. I was thinking that while looking in NEI and seeing the chair models, and then thinking that if I could make a chair out of gold, it could be made into a throne.

Would make for a useful BiblioCraft addon imo, especially for those using it in a decorative context.

I've kind of thought about something like that before. That is quite a nice mechanic that Carpenter's blocks mod uses. Maybe I could consider an add on of some sorts in the future with a similar type of functionality. I think it would work best as just an add on. I guess the only thing I'm not sure about / would have to figure out is how to get the texture of a block from the block.

    1. As far as I know, there has never been a Witch added by Mo Creatures.

    2. Mojang asked Dr. Zhark to add Horses to vanilla for them, and he agreed, and they credited him. So not exactly ripping him off.

    3. Armor Stands are not a Nuchaz Original Idea. While his are awesome, armor stands were an idea in both real life and Minecraft long before Nuchaz made one; he just made a really good one. For example, BetterStorage also adds an armor stand.

    4. As far as I know, Nuchaz had no direct role in armor stands being added to vanilla (beyond people on /r/MinecraftSuggestions shouting "Add an armor stand like BiblioCraft's!") so he shouldn't really get credit for it.

    5. The way I see it, the two armor stands server different roles. Nuchaz's is for quick armor-swapping and fancy armor storage, while vanilla's is less functional and more aesthetic. It also has arms and can hold things, again an aesthetics feature.

That being said, do not remove your armor stand Nuchaz, as it is awesome.

No worries, the BiblioCraft armor stand isn't going anywhere. ;) I'm honestly more surprised it took this long for vanilla to add armor stands. It always seemed like a pretty obvious thing that minecraft would benefit from to me. I certainly couldn't take / wouldn't want any credit from mojang on it, I played no role in the creation of their armor stand. If I did in some way influence them, thats wonderful!, but I still don't deserve any credit for their original work. I actually wouldn't even mind if Mojang did copy something I did, in fact, I would be honored. :)

Reminds me of a similar story in my past. I used to create mods for GTA:Vice City back like 10-12 years ago and my most successful project was a motorcycle I made that I called "Hell Fire". You can still find versions that people have ported from GTA:VC to GTA:SA and GTAIV. It must have made enough of an impact in the community to catch the attention of RockStar because if anyone noticed in GTA IV, there was a bike called the "Hell Fury" that was somewhat modeled after my work so many years ago. I was never credited or anything for my influence, but I never really cared, I always just felt it was a huge honor just to be able to make that kind of impact in the world. Google the search words "hell fire nuchaz" if you want to see images. ;)

Ok, so villagers and other entities can ride minecarts, right? I was wondering if it was possible for them to sit on seats, because i have never been able to get them to do this.

You know, I've been wondering about that recently as well because I could use that feature for one of my new features I am adding. I hadn't even thought to look at the minecarts. I just pulled up the code to the minecarts and I think I see how to do it, how to make entities sit. I'll have to do some testing and see if I can get this to work like I want. I may add this for the next release if I can get it to work like I want. ;)
    Quote from LordEric»
Idea for a new block: a Stack block. This would take a full stack (or more) of a single item or block. If it's a normal block, you get a ~3-high heap of miniature versions of the block. If it's a flat (or flattenable) block like rails, glass or big flowers, or a tool or 2-D object, it would be a slightly uneven stack of them. If it was 1-D objects like torches or small flowers, it would be a little pyramid of them. If it's empty, it would look like a forklift pallet, and be crafted like one as well.

This is kind of a cool idea. I could see this mechanic kind of fitting well in a block that also allows stacking of ingots. That is something that has been brought up a number of times that I am kind of interesting in doing eventually. TerraFirmaCraft is the only mod that I know of that has done something like that. I might do something like that eventually, but I hadn't really made up my mind yet.

A little earlier tonight I tweeted a preview pic of a clock I am working on. I got one block I am working on that I don't think I've ever seen mentioned for minecraft, so I hope it will be as new and exciting for everyone else as it is for me. :D I'm not quite ready to reveal any details on that, I just wanted to leave that little teaser there, hehe. Would it be possible to have recipes for wire framed glasses, gold/silver(iron)?

And for the chair backs another one that I think would look good would be a combination of the 4th and 5th one, arms with the head rest (I know its not a head rest lol, but what else do you call it :-) ) .

And finally, thanks for taking the time to make such an amazing much needed mod, most appreciated.

When you say wire framed glasses, are you talking glass blocks? I think there is a number of mods that also add nice varieties of glass so I probably won't be making any kind of glass blocks.

I likely could add another variant or 2 of the seat backs. I have it setup so it is quite easy to add more in code, it is mostly just 3d modeling work to add more. Perhaps I will expand the varieties more in the future. :)

Yeah, as mentioned, that is intended. I just found the whole idea of a cookie jar with cookies hilarious, so I had to do it. Nuchaz,

Could you make a Waypoint Compass to be able to learn multiple (2 at least) waypoints? Right clicking Waypoint Compass would switch between waypoints and display the waypoint name and location. This would be more practical for adventuring.

    The mod is brilliant!

This is definitely something I've been interested in doing. I would like to eventually have an atlas that works along side the compass and map frames where you could connect multiple waypoints to create an "adventure" of sorts and the waypoint compass could run you from one waypoint to the next, maybe even having a round trip mode that brought you back home when the end point was reached.

I was going to work on the Atlas stuff for this update, but put it off after realizing the other blocks I definitely wanted to do for this update were going to take as much time as they are. I will likely dedicate one whole update cycle to the atlas, because it has to be awesome. ;)
    Quote from CallsignRabbit

Nuchaz, I'm wondering if you are intending to add TerraFirmaCraft compatibility?

If not, I think it would be rather nice to have it. . . Bibliocraft is one of my favorite mods, and I'm sure that it would go wonderfully with TFC.

Well, good job with making such an awesome mod, and have a good one.

Eventually, yeah, I I would like to add TFC support. I am waiting until after they officially update to 1.7.10 (and likely after I get out my next feature release and update/fix a couple bugs/changes that came up in the other BIblioWoods). I know it will be a little more of an undertaking than the other BiblioWoods too just because of the unique nature of TFC. Many vanilla items don't even exist and TFC has other ways to implement recipes. For example, I wouldn't mind making the waypoint compass on the anvil. So likely after they update to 1.7.10 and I start a new TFC survival game, I will go after getting BiblioCraft working with TFC and release a BiblioWoods package.

Small bug in the latest build. Seems if you sit on a seat and break it from beneath yourself you're stuck sitting in mid air. Pressing shift will release you though.

Perhaps that is a feature? ;) I left that in because since you don't get stuck, it is not a real issue, and it is kind of funny. When you sit, I actually spawn an invisible entity for you to sit on. The entity exists until about 2 seconds after you stand up at which point the entity dies. So when you break the chair, the entity still exists until you stand up.

With the overwhelming popularity of Baubles, have you considered a 'bauble rack', a block similar to the armour rack, but designed to hold a full set of baubles instead?

That looks like a neat mod idea, but that would be a pretty specialized block. I generally don't add anything to the base BiblioCraft that wouldn't work with only forge installed. That is why my BiblioWoods packages are separate, since they depend on other mods, it kind of separates the dependency from basic BiblioCraft so I am never waiting for another mod to update (other than forge) when minecraft updates roll around.

Hey Nuchaz, just letting you know that BoP has made some updates to their wood textures that breaks some of the Bibliowoods textures so that they display with the usual purple and black missing texture. Nothing too major, but Loftwood was replaced with Ethereal wood and Mahogany wood was added to the game. Oh and Sacred Oak wood got a texture of its own rather than just the vanilla oak texture. I think that's all of the changes. It'll be awesome to see what the new woods look like in Bibliocraft. Thanks!

I'll look into this and try to get this fixed up as soon as I can. It looks like they must have updated since I did my release.

I think that you should make it so desks will join together like tables and to add an option for the armor stand to hold an item.

I would kind of like to do connectable desks eventually, so that is something that has been on my list for some time. I'm not sure when I will get to it, but I am definitely interested in having bigger desks.
I've had a number of request for the armor stand to hold a sword or something too, I still haven't made up my mind on that one. I am pretty happy with where the armor stand is at right now, though on the other hand, adding an item would give me an extra little 1-up on the new vanilla armor stand coming.

The rest of you posters take advantage of the situation just to have somebody to rag on. Adf.ly is ok until you take it to extremes, then you are out of line, regardless.

Well let me just say this, I have never and will never multi-layer adfly ads. I think adfly will actually shut down a persons account for doing so. Hopefully you're not seeing my website as ad-obtrusive. If you don't like those ads, you are welcome to install Adblock Plus, it will block my website ads. I'm personally not a fan of ads either, but without them, I wouldn't be able to afford to have a website so I can easily present info about BiblioCraft and easily update that info and also host the actual files to download so you don't have to go out to a 3rd party, ad filled website like mediafire or whatever. I don't get a lot of revenue from the ads, but it is enough to pay for the website and a photoshop cc subscription so I can keep making awesome stuff for you to download for free. ;)

So, I have a problem with BiblioWoods: Natura Edition.

The chairs, the sword cases, &c., are all fine, but the bookshelves aren't rendering the pretty colors. The bookshelves just look like the ones made from vanilla wood (it seems assigned at random... Blood and Darkwood look like Oak, Ghostwood and Willow are Dark Oak, Amaranth is Acacia... and so on). It's not giving me an error message, so I can't even post a trace log, it just doesn't seem to realize that those bookshelves are supposed to be different colors.

Again, most of the other BiblioWoods items look exactly how they're supposed to, it's just the Shelves and Fancy Cases and one or two other things... which is a shame, since the Bookshelves are what I needed BiblioWoods for.

I'll look into this and try to work up a fix. I had it working with my initial release, but perhaps something changed on naturas end that I may need to tweak for.

RIP this mod Armor Stands are now in vanilla minecraft :o

No worries, the BiblioCraft armor stand isn't going anywhere. There won't be any compatibility issues either, the vanilla stand and mine can both exsist in harmony. They both have unique advantages the way I see it. The fact the vanilla ones are basically entities that abide by gravity and such I think will make for some real interesting projects, but it certainly doesn't reduce the value of the BiblioCraft stand for me since I have the shift-click quick armor change and redstone-shift-click-full-set-change features.

No matter what though, BiblioCraft isn't going anywhere. (except up to newer better versions!) ;)

Since I removed most of the things from regular bibliocraft through config, I don't want them to be in bibliowoods BoP Edition (ex. Chairs and Table I just don't like so I removed them, but BiblioWoods still adds them! Like configs?)

ohh, that is an issue for sure, I didn't even think of that one. I'll add checks on BiblioWoods to see if a block is disabled via regular biblio craft config and disable them if so. I'll try to work that in with the other fixes I need to address in a couple BiblioWoods addons.

BIblioWoods don't generate config files anymore though, since before they were only used for Block and Item ID's, which are now a thing of the past. So that is normal. I just derped and forgot to add the support to remove stuff.

Hello, I have a problem with big books - when typing, text does not automatically wrap onto the next line when the first line is full. I'm using Minecraft 1.7.10, Bibliocraft 1.7.5, and forge 10.13.0.1180. Tested with no other mods installed. Can anyone else confirm please?

Yeah, this is normal, since to do text the way I wanted (so you can go back and click and edit any text without deleting the whole page, like vanilla books) I had to make each line a separate text box. I added the ability to skip to the next line by hitting your "enter" key or by using the arrow keys.

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but BiblioWoods[BiomesOPlenty] has a bug. BOP renamed Loftwood to "enchanted oak" or some-such, and retextured the wood blue-green. Consequently, the recipes are broken, and display pink checkerboards in NEI or creative mode.

Yeah, this is the correct place, github and my website are equally correct. :) I will look into this and get a fix out as soon as I get some time. It looks like they have updated since I did the initial release.

So after Nuchaz made it clear for me that there would be no bibliowoods for extra trees, I got the idea for bibliowoods for 2 mods. Witchery and twilight forest. Witchery would be easy as it only countains 3 wood-types. Speaking of witchery, it would be cool if support to read witchery books in the writing desk was added.

    Sorry for disturbing.

I haven't completely ruled out extra trees for the future, just for the time being. I suspect after minecraft 1.8 is out and mods update to that it may get easier to get access to the blocks I would need for recipes due to the removal of meta data in favor of block states. I'm just speculating though, but that is what I hope happens.

I'll consider supporting the witchery woods though, It wouldn't be too bad it seems. I'll have to do some testing with the witchery books. Some books work good on the desk, others I've tried crashed. I think it all depends on the implementation of the GUI for the books. If it takes the same parameters as a vanilla book, usually stuff works fine.
    Quote from Auric245524

The Twilight Forest wood logs break down into vanilla planks. So there's no point for the Twilight Forest. Witchery support would be awesome though.

While we're on the topic of mod support... How about Botania as well? Last I knew the lexica botania can't be viewed when in a desk and it would be neat to have Bibliocraft blocks made of livingwood and dream wood planks.

I'll consider Botania as well. I just downloaded that mod and checked it out a little. I am quite intrigued by it and plan to play some survival mode with it sometime in the nearish future. I'll experiment with the lexica botania on the desk too. I'm quite impressed with the look and feel of the lexica.

    Hello.

I'm running Mindcrack from FTB, and I've loved the bookshelves and desks from Bibliocraft. Recently I checked out the Golden Lantern on the FTB site, but found that I couldn't make it on my Mindcrack server. Is this item missing from the modpack as I have it installed? Or is it disabled? Could I re-enable it in the config file?

Any help would be appreciated because the Golden Lantern is exactly what I've been looking for for my current project,

    Thanks.

The Mindcrack pack you are using, is that the one for Minecraft v1.4.7? That is the only one I can see in the FTB launcher. If that is the case, you may be out of luck because the lanterns weren't added until MC v1.5.x.

    Hey,

can u fix the lamps/lantern/ other lights.... to make it have a "shader support"..

i will explain.. when i use SEUS Ultra.. I was placing the lantern on a wall.. and the lantern with iron was shining too brightening.. so it is supposed to be only candle.. not iron... but Iron is glowing/shining... if u needed a picture.. let me know. i can provide u a screenshot.

i also asked the SEUS forum for the same problem.. and they said there is no way they can fix it by adjusting the codes in SEUS.. so they said that there is only one way that people who made mod can make it have "shader support".. so thats why i posted this to see if its possible that u can fix it or not.

I've noticed that issue before too when I was testing that mod for v1.7.2 awhile back. I would like to fix this. Do you, or anyone reading this, happen to know of any links to any documentation or anything that could give me clues on what I might need to do to add proper shader support? I really have no clue how I could go about fixing this. With vanilla / forge all I can really do is give a block a light value from 0 to 15 which I think the shaders see by default and then just add the glowing effect to the entire block / model.

I can't speak for the Forestry, Natura, and Highlands additions, but in 1.7.10 when using BiblioWoods for Biomes O' Plenty most of the seats when placed become oak seats.

I tested every other type of furniture in every type of wood and it seems this is limited to seats.

    Otherwise, everything seems solid.

That looks like it was a derp on my part. I already got a new version with the fix up on my website.

I also re-uploaded 2 version of BiblioCraft v1.7.5, one specifically for Minecraft v1.7.2 and another for v1.7.10. There was an issue with my cross-compatibility, so I had to actually compile each version separately due to some of the backend changes that were made of things I use. Everything should be good now though. :)

I just released BiblioCraft v1.7.5 and BiblioWoods packages for Biomes O Plenty (updated and fixed the tile entity saving issue), Forestry, Natura, and Highlands. Now also compatible with both Minecraft v1.7.2 AND Minecraft v1.7.10. I also fixed that issue with the potion sheves not showing text when wearing the reading glasses. Head on over to www.bibliocraftmod.com to grab the update. :)

Thanks Everyone. I've been working on getting the other BiblioWoods updated. After the BoP release, things got much easier and I was able to make much faster progressing doing Forestry, Natura, and Highlands in a batch. (Also partially updated EBXL bibliowoods so when EBXL is updated to 1.7.x I can easily finish updating that too). In the process I also managed to figure out how to make a version of BIblioCraft and all the BiblioWoods cross compatible on both 1.7.2 and 1.7.10, so I will release an update soon with full support for both minecraft versions.

Can you fix the duplicate enchantment id crash for 1.7.2 as you did for v1.7.4? :(

    I´m not ready for 1.7.10 :(

My next release will be cross compatible with 1.7.2 and 1.7.10 and will include everything in the most recent BiblioCraft v1.7.4 release plus a couple additional bugfixes.

Nuchaz, I love this mod SO much. I cannot play minecraft without it. I created this account just to say that.

But now that I have this account made, I was wondering what it would be like to include a book that could be used to look up the recipes of bibliocraft oriented items and blocks. If you know what I mean, a book that we can craft in-game but will look up the crafting recipes so that we don't need to come onto the website everytime. As for I am a new player to this mod, I would love if that were to be included. Thx.

+1 for Craftguide if you want a book full of all the recipes in the game. NEI is another option for viewing recipes in game, but is more of a menu that is always there. Both great mods, craftguide is more immersive with the minecraft experience, and NEI is more powerful.

You can save individual recipes to recipe books with the Fancy Workbench within BiblioCraft. You would just need to lookup / know each recipe when you laid out the recipe. Since recipe books can be saved / copied with the printing press, it would technically be possible for someone to make all the recipes in game in separate recipe books, save them with the typesetting table, then actually share the files in the "books" folder BiblioCraft creates when you save books. In singleplayer, the "books" folder is found in your config folder, in multiplayer, the folder will be saved inside the world folder.

This bug has probably been reported before, but in the latest version of FTB Monster, placing a Thaumometer on a Tool Rack (specifically a Natura Sakura Tool Rack, though I don't know if that's relevant) it renders about 1.5x the size it should render, and is also sideways, half inside the Tool Rack sticking out the front horizontally. Don't know how to post images, sorry.

This may even be fixed in a newer version. The version of BiblioCraft in the FTB monster pack is quite outdated. I have no plans to update BiblioCraft for 1.6.x or earlier.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

On a side note, I saw a great suggestion on the Thaumcraft forum which I think fits the scope of BiblioCraft. Allow for some kind of item to be made that depicts a crafting recipe which can be hung on a wall, like a painting or perhaps in your map frames.

That is kind of a neat idea. I already have a way to get a recipe and add it to an item with the Fancy Workbench and the Recipe books. I'll have to do some thinkin on this idea sometime. ;)

;O what if mirrors were added to this mod, and they actually protrayed a reflection of what is infront of them. That'd be pretty awesome!

Mirrors would be cool, but I think they are definitely too graphically intense. (That is if I could even figure out how to do something like that, I wouldn't have a clue where to start). Minecraft just doesn't have the backend tech to make this very feasible.
    Quote from VulpesVulpes42

I don't know if ideas belong to the minecraft forum or the bibliocraft forum. But anyway, here's an idea: What about a stationary clock? It would be like the portable clock from vanilla minecraft, showing time and all that, but it would be in block form and have a fancy block model. It would also be neat if, like the lamps, it had floor and wall models. I think it would be cool if the floor model was 2 blocks tall and played a ding sound at the morning, mid-day, evening and mid-night. The wall model would be only one block tall, and it would also play a sound at the same times as the floor model, but a cuckoo sound rather than ding sound.

    Sorry for this messy comment.

Clocks have been something I've been kind of thinking about ever sense grandfather clocks were mentioned awhile back. I haven't decided what I want to do there, but I would want some certain redstone functionality if I were to include a clock. So yeah, it is something I am considering, but haven't made up my mind yet.

Please make a bibliowoods for the forestry addon extra trees ^_^

I looked at doing extra tree awhile back, and aside from there being an insane amount of woods, the way he did the blocks is unconventional and I don't think I really have a way to even get the planks and slabs I need for recipes. Regular Forestry is coming back though quite soon. :)
    Quote from ate0ate

Not sure if this was mentioned already or not, but I didn't see anything about it after a quick look through; I noticed that when re-entering my world after exiting that the fancy crafting table doesn't seem to remember its rotation and switches alignment in SSP. Not sure about multiplayer. Using the most recent forge and bibliocraft for 1.7.10.

Would these Fancy Workbenches happen to be from a version from the BiblioWoods BoP edition I just released? I think I found a bug with tile entities saving in that which I am going to be updating real soon.

Concerning my earlier bug report, I think I know what's wrong. I was playing with Reliquary installed at the time. Tile.air.name (thanks to Reliquary) took 0 as its ID.

I am trying to work out why this has started happening more frequently so I can get it fixed. I put in a support ticket with my host to maybe get a little assistance in figuring out what's going on. So hopefully they will give me some ideas on what else I can do and I can get this resolved permanently. Alternatively, I am thinking I should setup a script to auto-restart the server when these problems occur. But yeah, I try to get my server back up and running the minute I find out its down when I can.

Are you planning on doing this for the 1.7.2 version as well? Or would you possibly consider doing it, maybe?? I was very excited to see this addition, as it's something I've wanted for AGES, but trying to use it in 1.7.2 just kept crashing :(

Not really planning on it, but if there was enough demand it wouldn't be hard to do I don't think. In my actual code there was only 1 error repeated in 24 different classes. The bigger inconvenience is I had to delete some stuff that broke my 1.7.2 development environment to get my 1.7.10 dev environment working so I'm not sure I can easily have both setups.

But really, is there any real reason not to update to MC 1.7.10? I expect most mods such update to 1.7.10 real soon if they haven't already and most mods should already just work. BiblioCraft was one of the exceptions to that because of the changes to bounding boxes and how I use them, so that is why the newest BiblioCraft release will crash if you try to use it in MC 1.7.2.

    Quote from emokid1999

and sadly, when 1.8 comes out, mods will possibly take as long as 1.7 did for mods to update..

This is unfortunately true. I'll likely stick out 1.7.10 for awhile after the 1.8 release with BiblioCraft for that reason. There was a lot of major backend changes in vanilla in 1.8 and I wouldn't expect worlds to be transferable from 1.7.10 to 1.8 (at least worlds with mod stuff). They could surprise us though so some fancy tricks, so we don't really know yet.

I do think some of what I have heard about the changes in 1.8, such as block states and such, are going to be really beneficial to developers like me. So in the long run, it should better the game for everyone.

Any word on Bibliowoods support for 1.7.x yet?

The BiomesOPlenty edition has come along really nice and is getting close. I still have a few little things to finish up and some testing to do, but then I should be able to get a release out for that sometime this next week. The only thing that might not be in the BoP release is recipes for the Mahogany wood stuff. BoP has no Mahogany slabs yet.

I'll start with Forestry, Natura, then Highlands after that. I don't think Highlands has a 1.7.10 version yet, but I'll have to test if the 1.7.2 version works in 1.7.10. I think EBXL hasn't updated yet, but I will get them soon after they make the move to 1.7.10.

I am working on getting my BIblioCraft addon, BiblioWoods Biomes O Plenty edition up and running for 1.7.10 and I noticed there weren't any slabs for the Mahogany. I use slabs in quite a few of my recipes so I'll need the slabs to have full support for recipes for Mahogany blocks. But yeah, I'm just curious if there is plans to add slabs at some point. :)

Yeah, I meant the "useTextureSheet", but that is only to force them to use the old texture sheets. To use standard planks from a resource pack, it needs to be set to "false", which is default now.

As far as the books, you would have to have a texture pack that supported those specifically since textures like that don't exist in vanilla.

This may be requested already, but here is an idea I am requesting: a Minecraftian Calender. My thinking is that it would have 8 days in a week (corresponding to phases of the moon), 8 weeks in a month, and 8 months in a year. The calender would keep track of the days so that, for instance, one could keep a journal using dates that make more sense, or maybe a hardcore player could keep track of how long he has been stuck in this hole. I don't know how hard this would be to implement, but I hope it would not be difficult.

I really like the mod, keep up the good work!

+1 for the Solstice mod. Hopefully that will be something that gets maintained and updated. It doesn't look like its actually been touched since the modjam like 2 months ago.

I do like the idea of having a calendar, but I feel like seasons and such are something that would really need to be added, like the Solstice mod is doing, or like TerraFirmaCraft, so make a calendar really useful. Seasons and changes like that are really outside the scope of BiblioCraft. I could see maybe keeping a day count for journals. Maybe I could add like a button in the big book that was a date and time stamp kind of thing that basically wrote the current day and time of (minecraft) day. Something like that seems reasonable. I'll have to think on that more sometime.

    Hey,

is it possible that i can use an option where i can use any resource pack which can change the block/items in bilbiocraft's appearance..

I mean if i use resource pack.. then the default texture pack of these item/block of bibliocraft will be changed to the resource pack i selected.. so is it possible that i can do that??? just asking? because there is no texture pack/resource pack support for this mod.. :( :'(

Actually, as of the 1.7.4 release that I just did yesterday, you can do this now. It doesn't work with the table or desk, but the other wood blocks all support it now. So make sure your on Minecraft v1.7.10 w/ 1.7.4 and any resource pack you load up that replaces the vanilla wood planks will also texture the BiblioCraft blocks. :)

This is on by default and it did change the look of some of the blocks slightly, but if you wanted to disable this feature and use the old texture maps (in the case maybe you could be using a texture pack that did my old blocks on texture sheets, which does give the artist more control) you can set "useTextureMaps" to true in the BiblioCraft.cfg config file. In the future I will take advantage of the in-game config editor that was just added to forge so this can be changed in game.

Indeed there is. :) If you check my twitter, I even tweeted a preview of all the bookcases from BiblioWoods BoP edition working in 1.7.10. I've made a bit more progress and got more stuff in, but still a bit to go. I am hoping I can get a BiblioWoods BoP edition release out by next week if all goes well. I think Natura has a 1.7.10 version out too, or at least a beta, which I'll likely look into that after the BoiP edition release. I plan to do one at a time and release them as I go and as the other mods get updated to 1.7.10.
