These creations are simply amazing, they all blow me away ;O I wish I could build like this., But these are just awesome, no not awesome, Legendary. Most of you deserve to be gods of Minecraft Creations
When I started playing this game I was amazed at how well people built, and never thought that so many people would end up enjoying my own work. Seeing a comment like this is what makes it all worth it, and I(and I'm sure everyone else) appreciate it more than you'll ever know!
As the title states, I'll be starting another build in a more nordic(at least I hope) theme. I've been following Jamziboy's whaling town, and playing Skyrim so...it was only a matter of time.
I'm still experimenting with designs, but I built a watchtower last night that turned out well I think. I only have this screenshot as of now(actually found out the sun sets perfectly between the mountains as I was building ), so enjoy:
I also have this video which gives a brief overview of the land it will be built on if you're curious:
THIS IS AMAZING!!!! IF YOU HAVE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL I WOULD SUBSCRIBE RIGHT AWAY!
nevermind that last post...
Lol.
For all the people wanting a mountain.. If you want to delete the buildings I really don't mind. I'll probably be making a tutorial in the future on how I made my mountain, so for now that should work!
it's quite ironic that you are ''a proud member of The Voxel Box'' and still use world edit brush instead of voxelsiper but overall, an epic build you have there, that medieval style looks amazing,i tried several times to make medieval builds but i suck at it
I guess that is ironic, but I've used World Edit for so long now that I haven't really bothered to learn VoxelSniper. I also tend to make my builds in single player so that I know they're safe and I have multiple backups. Too often have my builds on other's servers had something happen to them! From what I've used of voxel it is amazing...I just need to learn the commands and such.
I was experimenting tonight with a couple renders.. First time messing with stuff like this, so any tips would be much appreciated!
I am about 90% done with this build now. I can't decide if i want to put interiors in all the houses or leave them for people to put what they want in them.. Here's a teaser screenshot of where the town sits:
Wow! This is impressive on every level, from the mountains you built and how you situated the castle on them, through the visual interest of the major architectural elements, to the fine details. (As fine details go, I think the grave marker crosses made of squares and the snow layer as pillows for the bed are particularly clever.)
Where did you get the inspiration for your castle design, or did you just make it up on your own?
What originally made me want to even build a castle on the side of a mountain was Neuschwanstein Castle.
The bigger building of the castle has elements taken from Neuschwanstein Castle, and influence from Dragonsreach.
The smaller building of the castle is influenced by and similar to a barracks from Warcraft. I liked the design, but wanted to make mine look non barracks-ish.
For the towers, I built 2-3 different types and went with the one I liked best.
I built a general shape for the wall, and added/subtracted blocks until I landed on something I liked.
Well, looking at the first picture of just the mountain, I couldn't stop myself from, truly out loud, blurting "What the hell?!" Beautiful, beautiful mountain there. And excellent work to go along with it.
I'm very happy to hear that. My goal was to make a landscape that would amaze people as much(if not more) than the buildings that went with it.

This is my first timelapse.. I sketched up a quick draft of how I wanted the city to be roughly, and then went to work

After that I made Tephra Castle, and the town of Noxshire.

I've been rather busy with work, so I haven't really done much. I made the exterior of the Great Hall, but that's it. A quick update!

The clearing of trees on the right side will be where more houses are going(I think):
I'm currently uploading the 3rd video of the series now, so I'll add that here after it's finished!

I started with this:
Then I learned how to add a texture pack

I'll be releasing this map after I'm finished building, so you could build on the other side if you really wanted
I don't have a save of the mountain alone, so I'd have to make another if enough people wanted it..
