    Hey, does someone know why this isn't working? I have it set up so there's a 20% chance for zombies to drop a heart (red dye).

    posted a message on Hand/Armor Drop Chances? (1.9)

    For some reason, I can't get the new drop chance tags to work. Here are the commands I tried, taken from the minecraft wiki.

    /summon Zombie ~ ~1 ~ {HandDropChances:[1.0f,1.0f],HandItems:[{id:"minecraft:stone"},{id:"minecraft:cobblestone"}]}

    /summon Zombie ~ ~1 ~ {ArmorDropChances:[2.0f,2.0f,2.0f,2.0f],ArmorItems:[{id:"minecraft:leather_boots"},{id:"minecraft:leather_leggings"},{id:"minecraft:leather_chestplate"},{id:"minecraft:leather_helmet"}]}

    Nothing is dropping, and I have both mob loot and entity drops set to true. If there is something I'm missing here, it would be nice to know!

    posted a message on Command Block Idea- "ambient" syntax for /playsound
    Quote from RobertFrans»

    If you set the volume and minimumVolume both on for example 1.0, you can already hear the sound everywhere. You can even set the minimumVolume lower, so that players beyond the radius will hear the sound softer.

    To my knowledge the max volume is 1. Thereafter it just changes the range as I said.

    Both of these suggestions worked. Thanks for the help!

    Oh ok I'll try that! I think the max volume has a cap, but I bet that would help increase the range of the music.

    You should make a puzzle map. Get creative and take advantage of the scoreboard system. Have them do things like change their difficulty, leave the game, fall 100 meters, etc. :)

    posted a message on Waypoint Entities!
    Hi! I have a basic concept in mind that would be very helpful to mapmakers; it's a command that summons an invisible entity at a set of coordinates. The entity would have no size or shape, meaning no hitbox, but has command capabilities similar to an invisible armor stand. The only variables in summoning the waypoint are its location and custom display name. Summoning a waypoint would look like this:

    /summon Waypoint [x] [y] [z] [display name]

    You may be thinking that this is pointless to implement because its basically the same thing as an invisible armor stand, but it would be nice to have a command that has been made solely for this purpose. Also, I am putting together a Metroid-themed concept map and need a point of reference for each door. Not only is it a pain to have to work with armor stands, but projectiles bounce off of the entities.

    I'm glad you like the idea! I feel the same way.. not sure why they haven't added this already.

    Where do you see this enchantment being useful? I know the glow effect can be used to put outlines on invisible mobs and mobs behind walls, but that doesn't seem to be your purpose. It could have some potential, but it seems a little random.

    posted a message on Command Block Idea- "ambient" syntax for /playsound

    Introduction

    Hello! I'm new to the forums, and I have a suggestion for the playsound command that's been changed in 1.9. The update changed the formatting of the command which basically allows you to access all of the .ogg files in the game, including music discs. It would be cool to include these longer sounds in maps, but the problem is the sounds are fixed to a single location and fade away after 15 blocks or so. To solve this problem, I came up with the "ambient" syntax.

    Explanation

    The syntax would be put at the end of the existing command, like this: /playsound <sound> <player> [x] [y] [z] [volume] [pitch] [minimumVolume] [mode]. The sound would be audible to the selected players regardless of their position if the ambient tag is present. I imagine this being reasonably easy to implement, so I thought it would be a cool feature to add for mapmakers. Ideally, you could go all out and pair this command with a custom sound pack to have a full soundtrack for a map.
