Working hard on an update.
I took more then i than i can handle, started working on the windows 10 version, started working on higiher resolution versions, probably atleast a week more of work then 1.12 will be released. Untill now you can use 1.11, but missing some textures.

I have been playing on my world for a good 5 years, and im still not done with it.
I have multiple bases in multiple biomes, all connected with underground railways. Mob farms, automatic plant farms, nether entrance, end entrance, nether farms, castles, builds, all in survival.
You always have stuff do to, it just depends on how much effort you are willing to put into your world. If you give up every time something is hard to get or hard to find, then you are better off downloading some adventure maps or something like that, rather then going full survival.
Everyone has their own play style, you just gotta find yours.
Try and getting some friends, play with them on a server or make a server of your own, just for the few of you, multiplayer CAN change this game and make it 1000 times more fun!

Did you change some settings in your firewall or anything related to your internet connection?
This looks like an issue with your firewall not allowing minecraft to connect online.

It will be a dlc or something for consoles and win10 i think. For us java users, you can use optifine and existing shader mods to get the same effect without paying a dime

I still play on my 1st world.
If i dont like something i dont build there.
I have a underground rail station connecting all my biomes and bases.
And if i spawn somewhere i dont like, i explore and find a good place, make a hut and put a bed in it.

You can get that on PC without a problem also
The good thing about consoles is that its much easier, you know the configuration wount change, you know that everyone has the same hardware, so you can optimize the hell out of it

As soon as optifine releases for 1.12, i will begin working on affinity, at this point im just fixing stuff, not adding anything new yet, since i dont follow pre releases.

Sorry for the delay, i am moving apartments and cant upload anything atm. The old version still works on MC 1.11, it just gives out a warning and is missing some textures.
I cant do anything for now. Waiting on the internet company.

And im guessing you have like 200GB of ram to run that 6Mx6M world?
Anyway, anything can be coded in a mod, if you know how to.
Problem is this requires playing around with the world generator that not 2many people like doing. So its gonna be hard to find anyone to do it for free.
