Oct 17, 2013The grass block is "officially" iconic because it kinda serves as a logo for the game. Then the creeper is more of a fan icon, being the most popular and well recognized mob/characterPosted in: Discussion
The rose has never been something that symbolized Minecraft, it just wasn't.

(pics inside)Hey I checked out the latest stuff and it all looks incredible! I especially like that new ice biome, it looks just like Antarctica! Anyways, you know I have been following your progress on this project since the very beginning and I'd definitely like to help test. Here's my infoPosted in: Discussion
2. Starting high school senior year this Fall
3. I know web design (html, css, js) and will be learning Java at school this coming year in AP CS. I've never made a mod but I've been playing Minecraft since since alpha and have experimented with mods several times.
4. Been moderator on a few servers here and there, I also am I mod on a forum/chatroom
Excited to finally see these biomes myself!

Before I go on to swamplands, I wanted to give everyone a screenshot view of the new taiga biome. It is relatively flat, but contains very dense fields of pine trees. The usual animals and monsters spawn, and there are now frozen ice lakes that can be found if you explore within the biome:
A view from the air:
From the forest floor:
I will work on the swamplands shortly.
P.S. -- I had an idea for ice caves, where a cave contains ice and snow like you'd find in some biomes -- only except its also dark. It might be doable and added at a later time. What do you all think?
Awesome! Couple things though, all of the trees look exactly the same, maybe a bit variation would be nice. Also, it might just be the pics you're taking but it looks like there is a lot of water and not much land.
I like the ice cave idea too.
Anyways it's looking good! Can't wait to get my hands on this

I found a way to make the mountains more smoother, and easier for players to get to the top of it:
Cool, but don't make them too easy, I liked the idea of a challenge of getting up a cliff face. You can't easily walk up real mountains.
keep up the good work.

I have never heard anyone call gold 'budder' in real life or minecraft, but I think this whole argument is hilarious! Let's keep it going, shall we?
In Hindu tradition, cows (butter producers) are highly respected.
In Hindu tradition, the earth (gold producer) is highly respected.
It's easy to see how butter and gold could be confused in southeast asia.
