    posted a message on how much people actually care about the achievements? (3 polls)

    Maybe it's just me, but I love the feeling of getting achievements. It's very nice to open up the menu and see a list of achievements you've gathered and say, "Yeah, I did that."

    It will break backwards compatibility of worlds, but everything else is just spiffydandy.

    1.8 will already do that, as they are removing ID's completely. 1.7 saw a switch from ID's to names, but they left in basic ID functionality. It's for the mod API, as tweeted by dinnerbone multiple times to different people :P

    It still has an equally likely chance of not being put in the game. If you're looking for a reason why not I think it's because of the massive amounts of programming that'd be needed. Plus they'd probably have to do away with the anvil system which allowed them that current 250 something block height.

    While you are correct, i dont agree with your reasoning. Mojang might not want to incorporate it because to the public it looks like they are incredibly lazy, since 1.6 was community code (mo creatures) too.
    On the other hand, bartesx (im pretty sure im spelling that wrong) is making it a proof of concept so all mojang has to do is add it, which makes sense if we want them to be more likely to add it.

    Speaking of the server, I (and others) have a small problem. No one seems able to use a VoxelSniper brush size larger than five. I can understand not giving it to anyone, but shouldn't the mods have it? The specific thing I want to use it for is to help a member of the server build a mountain that will reach the height limit so it can show off one of the possibilities of Cubic Chunks.

    We are reallly getting off topic, start a different thread for the server.

    posted a message on Robinton's Cubic Chunks for 1.6.1?
    Quote from Friedrichxxl

    The possibility to have infinite height(or atleast greater world height) is a thing I've waited for since I first played minecraft and even more since Robinton was the first one to achieve this.. So I'd love to see his work continued..

    There's another Modder who tries the same atm:
    http://www.minecraft...ad-updated-faq/

    Barteks your screenshot already looks promising, maybe you could offer a helping hand there, I dont think there are reasons for doing certain tasks twice :D

    The guy above me posted a link to someone who was less a mod maker, and more a planner. And to the guy supposedly updating the mod, Good luck, and we are all counting on you. Seriously, this could majorly reduce lag with current Terrain Generation.

    The link he posted is to a popular page requesting Mojang themselves both update the mod and add it into vanilla minecraft. The guy on that page is simply the head of a group of people, not a mod-maker. This brings me to the second topic:
    Quote from Barteks2x

    I'm working on it. My results on Minecraft 1.5.2 (Buggy terrain generator, no lighting, no world saving/loading, liquids not working):

    I am so impressed right now. I would love to see it updated and it would be great if it ran on a new version BECAUSE then we could give Mojang proof this mod really does great things, and they would be more likely to add it into minecraft.

    If you need help, PM me and tell me how you got the source, because I would like to look at the code and see if I could help any (i am a modder, but I haven't dealt with chunks and world loading/saving other than NBT tags.)

    I will be gone from tomorrow to next monday though, so I can't respond to anything during that time.

    	 case 0: generateSurface(world, random, chunkX*16, chunkZ*16);

    private void generateSurface(World world, Random rand, int chunkX, int chunkZ) {
    WorldGenerator thing = new WorldGenThing();
    BiomeGenBase biome = world.getBiomeGenForCoords(chunkX, chunkZ);

    {
    if (rand.nextInt(5) == 1)
    {
    for(int a = 0; a < 1; a++)
    {
    	 int randPosX = chunkX + rand.nextInt(16);
    	 int randPosZ = chunkZ + rand.nextInt(16);
    	 int randPosY = world.getHeightValue(randPosX, randPosZ);
    	 thing.generate(world, rand, randPosX, randPosY, randPosZ);
    }
    }
    }
    The actual structure code should be the same through all versions of Minecraft and Forge.
    I

    I tried using my code like so, but I feel it's less realistic than trying to mimic the code vanilla minecraft uses. Is there a way to use MapGenXXX and add it to the existing generation method for the overworld and superflat?
