(( Since I can't post as often as I'd like, I'll put more effort into this post. I hope it'll leave you guys off with a few questions, perhaps leave someone lost in thought. Anyways, here goes nothing. ))

    [Fiora]

The time that I had been swept away with the Thief and the time I had recovered were clearly not the same. My entire body was sore, fatigue my quality, drowsiness encompassing me. I could hardly move, as if my muscles were reluctant to obey my commands. Slowly my eyes began processing the environment around me. The walls were made of grey bricks seeming ing to be carved from boulders. The edges were grounded down, the space between bricks being cemented. The ground, however, appeared to be a single slab, the surface being cold in my bare hands and feet. There were no windows, not even one leading to another room. A tall, metal panel — which I assumed functioned as a door — was fit well into the center of one of the walls.

My clothing. I was wearing something very different from prior my encounter with the Thief. Instead of my usual cropped hoodie and t-shirt, I was wearing a thin, almost rag-like top. The sleeves were nonexistent and the sides had been worn down; just wearing the thing gave me a bit of anxiety if someone were to view my attire from the side. The tan material was beginning to tear in a couple places, with several holes already existing at about stomach level. The pants weren't much better, if they could be called pants. There existed men's underwear larger than those shorts. The shorts were a light grey, the length of them being ridiculously small. They barely passed the groin region, but the bottoms (furthest part down, not the rear area, mind you) were thinning out, with loose strings already apparent. Whoever was holding me here clearly wasn't showing much respect.

"Ah," a disembodied, male voice said, breaking the eerie silence of the chamber, "our princess awakens. I'd let Matthew know of this, but he's, ah, busy, at the moment." With a soft creaking sound, the door opened and a man stepped through. He was tall, well over six feet at least, with his most notable feature being his attire. He was adorned in a black suit, the jacket making his chest seem much more powerful than I figured it would look without it. A white, button-up shirt was underneath, slightly covered by a crisp red tie. His shoes were impeccable, the black gloss shining in even the dim light of the chamber. His hair was brown and gelled backwards, a fairly refined look adding everything together. "Any who, it's time to begin. I can assure you that you're completely safe. We took the liberty of moving you out of Central due to future circumstances, those highly involving the oncoming Taint swarm. By Christmas, the city will be leveled.

"My organization is one with special abilities, each of us being far superior than your average Fallen Angel." He said with a surprisingly calm tone. To emphasize his point, he rephrased his previous words. "Yes, we are stronger than weakened Gods. I am David Liath, the second strongest in our, how to say, troupe. I have been assigned the code name 'Pride'. Now, enough about me. I want to hear about you."

My brain was struggling to process the informant provided, not only by him but by my surroundings. While he was speaking, there were three times in which I attempted to summon lightning and shock this man, but not even a spark had appeared. Was this room acting like a Magic Suppressant, just like the Thief's magic?

"My name is Fiora Dawn." I started, introductions being key. "I'm vegetarian, I use Storm and Arcane magic, and I hate being dressed like a peasant from the medieval era." My snide remark toward the end was filled with aggressive sarcasm, but this 'David' guy took it as a joke. He laughed a bit, then motioned with his hand to keep going. "Two days ago, I descended from Aer. I landed near a village close to Central and they were more than happy to give me a lift. I encountered a suspicious man and pursued him, which brought me here. Happy now?"

David, as he called himself, gave me a stern glare, then looked at the wall to my right for a couple seconds. His thoughts processed as the moments went by, sighing once he figured out his answer. "No, I need more information. Tell me about Aer, tell me about your family, something! Tell me a secret that nobody else knows." He said, relaxing into a chair that wasn't there a couple seconds ago. Had he summoned it?

A secret. One which nobody knows. Perfect. "Well, if you're really curious, I can tell you a secret about my family." I announced with a shrug. Leaning in for a bit of dramatic effect, I figured that now was as good a time as any to get this off my chest. "I'm not the only child of A'thery and Kirisha. I've got an older brother who is far stronger than I am. While I'm pretty good at magic, he was a genius. He looked after me when I was little, back when my parents had 'responsibilities' that were apparently more important than family. His hair was a beautiful black, the highlights in it dazzling like blue stars in the night sky. His eyes were a powerful yet relaxing blue. Unlike me, who prefers to use a blunt weapon, he carried a Katana handle. He could generate the blade by energizing the air and literally forming a sword made of lightning.

"Four years ago, he wanted to descend to Earth; not to help the Humans nor the Tainted, but to live independently. My stupid older brother argued for hours with my father, and only when that happened did I notice it. His magic energy was spiking, at some points even surpassing Father's, albeit Father wasn't at maximum capacity." I continued, acknowledging that lying or hiding the truth in any way would be of no help. "Finally, he decided that he would leave on his own, regardless of Father's opinion. A'thery clearly wasn't going to allow that to happen, so he pulled brother back by the right hand.

"Without a second thought, that idiot cut his arm off." I said, feeling tears beginning to form, remembering losing my brother. "He left Aer, but never became a Fallen Angel. He didn't make the contract to lose his power and immortality. He ripped a way down as a god descended to Earth."

Apparently, my story had satisfied this 'Pride' character. His mouth remained closed as he turned around and left. The chair he had sat on disappeared while within my blind spot, which I found quite odd. Several minutes later, David returned holding a stack of cloth. Still silent, the tall figure tossed the pile onto the ground before me. There was a purple t-shirt, the size being a bit too small, decorated with a pink, sleek heart design in the bottom left corner on the front. I didn't appreciate how poorly it fit, as it seemed to emphasize what shouldn't be too highlighted on a classy woman's northern hemisphere. Instead of pants, where was a skirt, which thankfully was a bit more loose. The skirt was pleated and had a color gradient starting with black at the bottom toward the waist. As soon as I got out of here, I'd have to change out of this absurd clothing. They didn't bother to bring shoes or anything else for that matter, but the door had been left open.

I took this opportunity to attempt to escape. A quick inspection of the hallway revealed there to be nobody immediately near the door, so I was in the clear. Of course, this is right about when everything went south. The hall was fake, a mere illusion to give me hope just so my captors could crush it. Instead of leading anywhere, the doorway was nothing but a clever facade for a rift. The other side was inside of a much smaller, more cliché cell. Metal slab floor and roof a couple feet in length and width, bars running vertically, the cage seemed to be what you would hide inside when swimming with sharks.

"Told you she'd try to run." Someone said, who turned out to be the Thief from before. "If you guys'll respect the bet, I get the honor of torturing her later."

"Shut it, Greed." David said. "Fiora, what else can you tell us about your brother? We're trying to find more information about what will be happening to Central City in a few days." Wait, were they not the cause of the issue? Were they not leading the whole fiasco? With every word, more questions popped into my mind, like a hero foolishly cutting off a Hydra's heads.

"His name. I-I'll tell you his name." I said, stuttering a bit. I managed to get the next sentence out without stuttering, but I did leave a pause as my mind processed everything. "His name was,

    "Tobias."

(( Sorry for my absense again. Anyways, onto Administrating stuff. Ronin, approved. Kumquat, I am hesitant to approve simply because Bloodhound isn't there, but I guess I'll let it slide.

Arch, I am sorry to say that I'm denying that application. The Age was understandable given his race, but the Appearance was disappointing, the Bio was hugely underwhelming, and I'm finding holes that I could drive a metaphorical tractor through. The Magic category would create a character that is far overpowered for being "mortal". You failed to read the rules thoroughly, heck, judging by your Bio, I doubt you truly understood the deity system. If these errors are corrected, I can't help but notice the poor grammar. I found it rather boring to read and would regret to have this quality of posts throughout the Roleplay. Sorry.

Derpy, you were not accepted. GeorgeNinja helped to point out the flaws in your application, so I would suggest flipping back a page and reading what he and I had to say. With improvements, I think you might be able to make a passing application. ))

(( I don't mean bland by normal standards. It doesn't appear that he works as a banker with an everyday job or anything. It's just that, compared to others, he seems a bit boring so far. I don't mean it in a negative way. Think of it more along the lines of canvases. Other applications are shown to have been painted wonderfully on their canvases, having many cool qualities. In your case, it feels like you have not (yet) utilized your canvas. I'm not saying that you CAN'T or WON'T do anything impressive. Anyways, this is just my two cents. ))

I didn't really know what to expect. In an instant, someone appeared beside me, questioning my humanity. At the same instant, some man clutching a sword that had obviously been through plenty of battles entered the scene. My captor was fairly calm about the whole situation, which I found odd considering he was a simple thief. Was he hiding more about himself? Had he already prepared for combat?

"Ethereal Creation is an advanced Creation-style magic found in few textbooks." The Thief said, not looking too worried about the situation. His accent faded out of his voice, meaning it was more than likely a facade. "Whereas it's 'sister magic', Energy Manipulation, is easily permeable, simply controlled, and utterly appears to be very similar. Ethereal Creation uses a matter than disintegrates at a regular rate, so it needs to be repaired by giving it more of my magical energy. This means that I can replace it's qualities on the fly. The tendency to explode is a viable quality." His explanation ended, leaving a bitter taste in the air.

Explode? If he were to detonate his magic, I'd have wasted my trip down to Earth. There would have been no purpose in throwing away my life in paradise, only to die at the hands of some meager thief. If only I still had my immortality, I'd be able to survive the explosion. Worse off, what would happen to these two people? One of them was clearly a killer, the other possessing an aura of inhumanity. That's about when it questioned my existence. 'Why do you feel so Inhuman, Human?', it had asked. Even if I could answer, what I responded with would likely put a bounty on my head in this city.

"Matt, time's nearly up. Grab what you can and get ready. I'll make a rift when you're ready." A voice said, coming from seemingly nowhere. The thief, who's name was apparently Matt, pulled out a small, yellow, cleanly cut jewel about the size of his palm. The gem seemed to be the source of the previous voice. "The Boss says that we've got a new target. Reports of a Fallen Angel came from nearby. Female, black and blue hair."

"Heh, so you're a Goddess, are you?" Matt said, still completely unfazed at the arrival of the two others. The psycho looked terrifying, especially with his sword glowing, so I'd expect for him to be a little bit more worried, but he kept his calm expression quite well. "Make the rift sticky. Anything I'm in direct contact with, I want to take." Finally, the thief acknowledged the two guests. He quickly darted his eyes to their distinct features, examining them thoroughly. "How about this: you folk can have at this flat; heck, you can have the whole building. This prize, however, is mine." With his final words said, a bl

ack circle appeared on the ground beneath him. As he began dissipating, he grabbed my wrist.

    All I saw was black.

(( For those of you who know what company I work for, this'll make more sense to you. The main reason I'm not super active during the day is fairly simple: work. I recently got a huge promotion and my salary has nearly doubled. This is great because I can live life a bit easier without really having to worry about finances. Unfortunately, this comes with the added stress of two to three times the usual work I've got to do between projects, presentations, and all sorts of things. I appreciate the patience everybody is showing while I'm getting adjusted to this busy life. ))

I had received some seriously negative vibes coming from the informant, so I followed him for a couple blocks. He had, initially, gone the opposite way of the man he discussed the "upcoming Taint invasion" with, but his path brought the two of us a little ways off from the man. The informant stalked him, like a predator, watching his prey's every movement. I could tell that the sneaky informant wasn't a Tainted One, so was a bit odd why he would be following someone this intently. The target entered a tall building, then exited about twenty minutes later with some other people, all of which toting luggage. The small group entered a vehicle, then drove off. Right about then was when the Informant made his move. Slowly, he strolled through the doors of the building, with me just a couple steps behind, and made his way up to what I suspected was the man's apartment. The stalker's right hand glowed gold softly as he clutched the doorknob, a quiet click breaking the silence.

"What do you think you're doing?" I asked coldly, realizing this man was nothing less than a greedy thief. The puzzle pieces fit perfectly and I was outraged at having not figured it out earlier. Getting someone and their family out of the area for several days was the ideal goal for a thief. No bodies to hide, plus he probably had a decent excuse in case things went south.

The thief looked at me, his eyes filled with a furious passion. "Run along, miss, preten' you didn't see anyfin. I don't want a lass like yous to get hurt." All things considered, the best plan would be to try and alert other people that this guy was a present danger, but as soon as I attempted to speak, I discovered that my mouth was covered up by some sort of magical substance. A cloth composed of a golden energy muted me. A blast of energy slammed into my stomach, sending me against the wall behind where I was standing. I started to slide down the wall from the impact, but chains made of a much stiffer version of the mystic cloth appeared around my wrists, hoisting me a couple inches off the ground.

"Looky here, lass. I use a magic called Ethereal Creation. It's pretty strong compear'd (compared) to other types of magic. Ethereal matter is able to take on whatever qualties (qualities) I need it to have. That ethereal matter you probly (probably) noticed sa'presses (suppresses) magic energy. Here's what we'll do: you hang aroun' here for a few minutes an' I'll go in, take what I want, den da two of us can skip town." He explained in quite a bit of detail. I attempted to summon a ball of lightning in my hand, but all that appeared were a couple of sparks and small bolts, not even enough to stun someone. "Ah, so yous is a lightnin' uza (user). I'll be sure to make da ethereal matter absorb 'lectricity (electricity). I wasn't lyin' about da Taint'd swarmin' town. It'd be a shame to let you, a 'dorable (adorable) sorceress, go to waste, so I'll bring ya wif (with) me when I eitha (either) leave or head to the inna (inner) parts of da city."

I silently cursed myself for being so weak. I figured, being a former Goddess, I'd be able to surpass most magicians, but I had been caught off guard and useless by some thief. If only I had figured out his intentions sooner I could have beaten him. For now, I could only go with the flow, but it started to weigh heavy in my mind. Tainted inside of the Humans' most secure city? What would happen if my captor had figured out my origins?

The car slowed to a stop in the midst of a city, quite a large one in fact. This was, according to what I had heard, the capital of the Central District. It had no official name, apparently, but was frequently called Central due to it's vast area and how it was positioned at the center of the country. The car door swung open easily, so I took the chance to step out. Those who had driven me here were some citizens from a nearby town and they seemed to look at me strangely. Of course, I never expected equal treatment, but the way they stared at me, their eyes filled with scornful disapproval, it terrified me. Perhaps this was my punishment for being a former Goddess.

Deciding to go on a tour of the city, I began to wander around, getting a decent lay of the land. Almost every building was a tour, a large amount of such being skyscrapers. The glittering metal was uniquely beautiful, the silver glare making the whole city look like a pile of treasure. From what I saw, there were few temples in this city, most of those remaining looking like they had been ransacked. Was the worship of the Gods outlawed here?

"Oi, mate." Someone said from a little ways off. The guy was wearing a gray hoodie and a black set of cargo pants. He wasn't that tall, but he was a bit taller than myself. For a second, I thought he was referring to me, but closer inspection revealed that he was talking to someone else. "You 'ear (hear) da rumors? People sayin' (saying) that there's a ton of them Taint'd (Tainted) folk near Central. Numbas (Numbers) say there's a hunnit (hundred) or so, but ma (my) source begs to diffa (differ). He says they's got (they have) least a thousan' (thousand) or so." The man this informant was talking to was quiet for a bit, but began to talk

"Seriously?" The man getting informed questioned, his voice filled with concern. He mumbled something, but I couldn't hear what. "I don't know if it's true, but even so, I'll grab my family and go to the center of the city for a few days. With Christmas coming up, I really don't want to deal with so much grief. The inner city should be safe."

The informant nodded in agreement. "If ya (you) give me ya (your) address, I'll keep tabs on ya (your) flat. I've got methods a' (of) getting in and out of the different neighborhoods. I'd sagest (suggest) tellin' ya (your) neighbors. Beta (Better) safe den (then) sorry." I could have sworn that, when the man stopped talking, he gave a quick smirk. Something about the informant didn't seem right to me, but it was most likely just me getting adjusted to being around Humans. The man being informed ran away, probably back to his house. The informant gave a sly grin, then walked down the sidewalk in my direction. I'd have to remember his face in case he came up later.
