    Welcome to the Zone, STALKER.

After the initial Chernobyl disaster attempts were made to contain the fallout. Scientists and military personnel operated in the area for twenty years attempting to fix the event. Eventually the Russian government would begin secret tests in the area, believing it to be safe from prying eyes. A chemical called C-Consciousness was created in the Chernobyl ruins. A second event would happen as the testing facility violently detonated, sending another wave of rolling chemicals into the Chernobyl area. Now a large area of Russia is considered a No-Go-Zone, or simply The Zone.

Today people travel to the Zone under the nose of the Russian government. The Zone is full of danger: Inhabited by mutants, irradiated areas, and deadly radioactive phenomena. The promise is too strong however, the promise of artifacts. These are objects infused by the C-Consciousness chemical and altered by radiation, giving them strange and powerful effects. The value of these artifacts ranges from one American dollar to millions depending on the effects. These hunters are called STALKERs, in the traditional sense of the name.

You've been lured to The Zone by the promise of money and adventure. The man responsible for bringing you here is known as Jackie Ernsholm. To your knowledge he is an incredibly wealthy trader in The Zone, wanted by the Russian Government for smuggling and trespassing.

Hello, I my name is Brian. I am 19 and have been around the Minecraft community since it's first creation. I've watched this game change with the years and I have run many servers. This however is my latest attempt to make something that will stick and I hope you will help me do that!

This server is intended to be a light RP server, which means players will be required to stay in character but not everything needs to be text and talking out of character is not a horrible offense (As long as it's labeled correctly.) My hope is to create a unique experience in a custom apocalyptic world. There will be a lot of interesting events (Most pertaining to powerful artifacts, the military getting involved, or Jackie) and a lot to keep people busy. However, in order to create this world I need you!

    Needed Positions

    Admin - 1 slot

This person will be my right hand. Expected to know at least a little of everything - how to play the game, running servers, plugins, and writing/RP skills. This person will be important to me as they will help plan and organize everything as well as give me suggestions and tell me when I'm taking an idea too far.

    Name (Real Life):

    Age (Real Life, 18+ Required):

    Administrative Experience:

    Skills:

    Describe your personality:

Would you describe yourself as stern, lenient, or somewhere in between:

Would you describe yourself as impartial, caring, or somewhere in between:

How much free time do you have/What are your best hours:

    Game Moderator - 4 Slots

This role is intended to help manage the game. These people will be allowed on server before it's release as testers because their main purpose will not be possible until the server is open. The Game Moderator will wander the world as real players but with the ability to issue warnings and enforce rules. As a Game Moderator you will be my sword.

    Name:

    Age (Optional):

    Moderator Experience:

Are you willing to spend time knowing the rules front to back?:

Are you willing to make tough executive decisions, even against friends?:

Are you aware that you, yourself, are suspect to these rules?:

    Describe yourself:

What is the MOST important quality you look for in people:

    Builder - 10 Slots

The Builder position will be responsible for helping construct the server. Being a builder does not guarentee a position on staff after opening, but does assure that you will be given a head start and items for assisting. You may even be allowed to play important characters (Such as military personnel or employee's of Jackie Ernsholm.)

    Name:

    Age (Optional):

    Examples of Work:

    Time playing Minecraft (Rough estimate):

    Previous work:

Are there any people I can contact about your building ability? If so please leave their forum names or email:

Best building style (Keep in mind the server has an apocalyptic theme involving little color and lots of metal/modern buildings):

posted a message on Instability [Running Tech World 2]

Welcome to Instability! This is not a normal server.

Here we host a custom game we've invented. We call it Instability. A mod in Techworld 2 allows you to create your own dimensions - mystcraft. Very ore heavy worlds tend to be unstable, with their worlds being taken over by decay or simply falling apart.

We thought of a cool game mode where everyone spawns in a decaying world with tons of powerful resources - spires of diamond ore, nether quartz in abundance. The people are then tasked with surviving as long as possible. The last person to die wins.

Since the world is decaying you'll be forced to act quickly and try your best. PVP is encouraged, however, everyone gets a 2 minute grace at the beginning. Within two minutes of the beginning of the game, killing someone gets you disqualified. So don't do it.

Interested in being in our first run?

Fill out this little whitelist application. We are ready to let in ten people for testing.

    rules:

    1. This world is already decaying. Griefing is allowed - don't make anything you're really fond of because it won't last.

    2. If you are logged off the server for more than thirty minutes then we will consider your character dead. The game shouldn't last more than a couple hours.

    3. DO NOT CREATE OTHER WORLDS. I know you can do it easily in Mystcraft. Until I figure out how to disable everyone else using it I cannot stop you other than threatening a ban. I will know if you do it - the console will warn me. I will ban you forever and destroy it. Don't do it.

Why do you want to join:

Are you experienced with Tech World 2?:

    Have you read the rules?:

posted a message on [Builders and Staff needed] The Heaven [Roleplay] [Tech World 2 FTB]

Hello everyone! I'm Zack, your humble server admin. I've recently had a spur of ideas for a RP server using a mod pack - something I don't see much of. I'm unsure of if it'll actually go anywhere but I'm willing to try.

The Heaven is essentially another post apocalyptic setting server. The difference will end up being my events and my staff, which will play the part of a militarized government which will probably control most of the resources. Players will be encouraged to survive any way possible and to do whatever they wish.

I do not plan to have rules against PVP or griefing - I plan to use a map called Tazader City (I'll make sure to credit them and put links in the actual topic) as a base with which do our building. As such the world won't have any of the mod packs ores in it - no uranium, copper, tin, et cetera. Meaning that in order for someone to actually obtain and use a Nuke I'll have to have allowed the resources in distribution first.

The staff, which will primarily run this military organization, will not be invulnerable. I want players to be able to do what they wish. If you can manage to actually get enough people to destroy the staff primary base (Which will probably have lots of weapons and resources in it) then I want the players to do so. If you can capture one of the higher staff members and want to use them as barter, then do it.

The Heaven will win when one of my preset game enders happens. Either every player pledges allegiance to the military (Which by the way will be quite mean, I doubt this will happen), the players succeed in a rebellion, or somehow the map is griefed beyond use (Yes this is an actual end game thing. To me it's considered a nobody wins option.) After this, if everyone wishes, there will probably be another Heaven with a different map.

If you wish to be a builder or staff, please add me on Skype. My Skype is Zamorak789. I won't be using applications for the most part, however, expect questions when you add me. If you want staff please specify a position (This could be anything from moderator to administrator, someone who is really good with IC2/BC/Et cetera, to someone who wishes to just answer whitelist applications.)

If you have ANY suggestions or ideas, please leave them below. I will make sure to respond. I enjoy constructive criticism.

posted a message on The Twenty Artifacts of Chaos

In a world which has lost all hope, what other choice do we have? Our world was born from two massively powerful entities, a God and Goddess, who represented the two sides of existence. Although they were opposites they loved each other, unable to touch. The God of Chaos and Goddess of Order. They existed in the empty void, struggling forever to have some influence on each other. Our planet was created by Order and humanity was constructed from Chaos. The fundamental laws of nature were born and our world sprung to life.

At this time our world was beautiful, wonderful in every way. Our people practiced arcane arts, created great works of art, and constructed mighty castles and buildings. Magic was our downfall. We were constructed by Chaos, it was inevitable that certain people would fall to it. One man was consumed with greed and lust. His name is lost to the winds, forgotten forever. It is said that he used magic to do unspeakable and horrible things, sacrificing people for their souls in order to live forever. He existed for a thousand years, gathering power. He eventually set his sights on becoming a God himself - caring not for the balance of the world. After consuming the souls of ten thousand people he found himself with great power. His attempt to become God shook the very world to it's core, driving pain into the lives of everything. In the singular moment that he completed the ritual to become God, he managed to break the laws of our existence.

The ritual failed, to save some time. His attempt had consequences - the God of Chaos was destroyed, his existence spread among our planet. The Goddess was sent into a horrible depression over the loss of the one thing she ever knew, the one person she loved. Order itself began to break down, the only remnants of Chaos being us, people. Without the Goddess to keep us in check we began to fight constantly, falling to madness and seeking power.

Chaos's existence was split into twenty artifacts, each one containing a part of his power. They took form of mortal instruments - weaponry, armor, utilities, et cetera. The great mages warned the people that using these artifacts could cause great destruction which would only add to our problems. But the original mage who attempted to become God is very much alive, and has begun his experiments again.. It is assumed that he has one of the aritfacts of Chaos, which is amplifying his already near God like power. This has allowed him to do things we cannot imagine - such as create life.

We cannot defeat him without artifacts of our own. We have begun sending our people out to find these artifacts, to use them. We can only hope the people who succeed in finding them use them to help us, and not for their own goals.

You are someone who has managed to find an artifact, what that artifact does or is, is up to you. You recently received a letter with a purple wax seal which summons you to the altar of the Goddess, located in what was once the capitol of the country. It tells you that you've received the letter because of your artifact, and that others are gathering in order to fight for our world.

"It's nothing crazy like human or anything. It's freeze dried corn and some other vegetables. Doesn't taste good but it's enough vitamines and nutrients to survive, and it doesn't spoil. I grabbed a massive crate of the stuff before I left the US." Jackie said. He looked around for a bit, every now and then standing and patrolling. "They'll be making their move soon. I've seen at least five people moving around us." He said after a while.

After the camp area was sufficiently circled by knives embedded in sand Jackie sat down, rummaging through his bag. "Hold on..." He said, moving things around and searching. Eventually he pulled out ten rectangular packets made of a paper like material, which had the word "Rations" on them. He tossed the pile onto the ground. "There you guys go. Also some water." He said as he pulled a metal container from his bag. It was a cylinder with various rings on it. On the side was a glass display of some kind which was simply lit up blue. "Gathers moisture in the air or from actual water sources to create liquid water. Feel free to fill any cups or something you may have. Make sure everybody gets some." Jackie said.

Jackie smirked before pulling his coat open a little. The inside is covered with various holstered knives - twenty, maybe thirty, or more small bladed knives. Made of magnetized metal, of course. "I will try to talk out of a fight, of course. I have more supplies than I could ever use and most of these thieves will take what they can rather than resort to violence. Just be on guard." He said calmly. He began taking a knife at a time and tossing them blade first into the sand at various places around where he planed to set up the camp.

Jackie smiled. "There. We should be good to go for a while. If anyone needs anything just ask, I probably have it." He said, packing everything back up and slipping the massive bag onto his back. The dunes got larger and sand flew across the barren and empty landscape. Jackie trudged on, having already crossed miles of desert and expecting to be assaulted at some point soon. The desert was full of vultures who would attack anything alive - and cannibalism had become a very real thing out here. The sun was trailing across the sky turning it various shades of pink and red when Jackie suddenly stopped, dropping his pack. "We're going to set up camp for now. Oh, and look over there." Jackie raised his head, looking up over a dune. Part of a rifle and an arm, maybe a head depending on the angle, visible to those with good eye sight. "They've been tracking us for an hour or so. I expect they'll attack at some point soon. Keep all your weapons hidden. I want them to think they have the advantage." Jackie says in a sort of hushed tone.

The only issue I have is the restriction that only certain kingdoms do exact things - restricts the creativity of abilities. Essentially play something generic or not at all. What's the purpose in magic if it's not unique?

That said, I'm still interested in the idea. I've tried to do similar things on my own so good luck.

"Well, we're heading to the red desert. Beijing. There's something there, something I know could change the world. And I'm certain it's worth enough money for me to supply this trip." Jackie says, looking back. The sun was full and blazing - temperatures rising. Jackie wiped sweat from his brow before uncorking another green flask and downing it in one go, continuing his stride. After a while he stopped and turned. "So I mentioned I would supply this trip.. And I'm certain now you're all feeling the heat. There is one thing I can do to definitely speed this up. I will mention that if I'm wrong about what we're after I will be extremely pissed." He says before pulling a metal cylinder from his bag which is roughly the size of a tray. He pulls the lid off revealing a circular rack of sorts which contains eight vials full of the green liquid. "Everybody gets one. If you want to know what it is - it is a severely powerful drug which will allow you to travel longer distances in heat. It will cause you to feel much more energetic as well as cooler. I'm not a scientist so I couldn't tell you what is in it, and I also will not tell you where I got them. Know that these effects aren't entirely real - wear a jacket out here and you will die feeling cold. You also shouldn't do as I do, drinking this entire vial now will probably be a waste. Each of these vials are worth approximately twenty thousand US pre-war dollars. Be... Conservative." Jackie says, making sure to give each person a look.

It's beginning to really get on my nerves that people will apply for a RP, they'll say they are interested in the idea, but then they won't do anything with it. They'll make the creator sit there and think up the world, the universe, they'll create an entire existence solely for the person to enjoy then they'll drop it because the most effort they put into it was a backstory. People just don't respond anymore.

And it's starting to make me angry.))

Jackie said before finishing off the vile and tucking it back into his pack. He pulled it up onto his back, facing the gate. "Let's go." He said, smiling as he began walking into the vast expanse of desert.
