I don't doubt the good and helpful intentions behind this update. I am, however, still unconvinced of the competence.
You asked us to beta test the new format for you, but when we notify you of problems with it which we have found (which is the entire point of beta testing) you casually dismissed us, painting us as shallow caricatures who were attempting to "demonize" you. This is, as you point out, a bad way to get people to open up to your way of thinking, and the added hypocrisy certainly can't help either.
I absolutely believe that this update was for us, and done with the best and most benevolent of intentions, but there's a big difference between something intended to give us a better experience and something which actually succeeds in accomplishing that goal. A broken crappy forum is, as you say, not doing us any favors. You didn't make the old format broken and crappy deliberately, and yet it still ended up broken and crappy. And nobody here believes that you deliberately made the new one broken and crappy either. Nobody is accusing you of that. And yet, it that's how it turned out. It's a mistake. That's all it is. But the mature thing to do would be to learn from that mistake, to correct it while it was still in beta, and then publish the end result of the beta testing process rather than insisting on publishing an unfinished, broken and crappy beta version and accusing anyone who objected to that decision of being a hater.
Making things work is indeed a higher priority than making them pretty. But they were already pretty, and there was no call to change that. Making things work does not necessitate destroying the prettiness that was already present. However, making things work does necessitate making things work, and that is something that has simply not been successfully accomplished with this updated, despite the higher priority being placed on it. Perhaps if all the effort had been allotted to that task, rather than being offset by the additional task of implementing an aesthetic redesign which nobody asked for and which did nothing to further that goal, you might have succeeded.
Finish fixing the forum, and then publish the new version once it's actually ready to be published. That's all we ask.
Personally, I don't see anything massively wrong with the new software that would require a delay in deployment.

Oopsie looks like I did it again.

They mean that Discord (the platform) has replaced forums in general, which sucks because a Discord server is not a real replacement for a forum for various reasons.

Time for the near yearly check up apparently. I thought I posted a few months ago but it's apparently been 11 months.
Oops.

Could we not just let the dead rest in peace?

Blast from the past that.
I've found screenshots from when I was mod. Much cringe and too much anime avatars.
Not quite bandlist but did get in some trouble. Some rogue admin let me in for some reason.
I do miss the mod team IRC, was a good time.

Do you remember when they were going to blow up the forum?
Good times.
Should do it more often tbh, makes things exciting around here.
