    I fix this by logging in to a server now and then and witnessing the griefers. Then I go back to my SSP game with a big smile and awesome builds.

    I'm currently building a mega tree house on an island in the middle of a lake in a jungle near 0,64,0 of a world. From there I'll branch out with nether tunnels to sub stations in the overworld every 4000 blocks. Tree house is looking really snazy.

    If it were someone other than Microsoft I could care less about the sale. If it was a company that does a lot of cross platform software sales even happier. Sadly it went to Microsoft and that is the only real source for my displeasure of this event. Anyone else I could have almost cared less, unless it was Ubisoft (drm hell corporation) but they're about the same or less so then MS.

    I think this pretty well sums up peoples feelings about Microsoft taking over Mojang.

    Also I saw the future update plans for 1.8.5:

    * Removed Creeper
    * Added Clippy and Bob
    * Equipment bar now a ribbon

    I still hope, that someone will fork it and before this happens, so minecraft get continued by community

    Minecraft isn't an open game and can't legally be forked by anyone but the IP owner. If Notch sells it out then that is that unlike what happened with OpenOffice and MySQL when they got sold to Oracle. Those got forked because the licensing let them be forked. Your best bet is clones that don't get sued in to the ground by the legions of lawyers Microsoft has.

    I get the feeling that there is a lot of overreaction going on here. People seem to think if this goes through that Mojang will be brought in-house and that it'll be Microsoft coders working on Minecraft, and that somehow it'll drastically change. I think they just want the IP and what has made it succeed. Granted, it sounds like Notch will leave if this goes through, but I would be shocked if the agreement didn't include some level of autonomy for Jeb and company and that they would mostly all stay on and continue to run things, with some business oversight from Microsoft.

    It's not overreacting it's genuine fear of a large corporation taking over something smaller yet successful and ruining it. Mojang on it's own isn't very big and reacts pretty well to things with developing Minecraft. The other games aside, it's been really good and the Java platform they use while doesn't mean it's open for plugins like most people want, make it easier to mod which has helped their sales quite a bit I'm guessing.

    Microsoft has a history of taking things in and turning them in to products that are only supported on their own platform. There is no real incentive to keep supporting Minecraft on anything that isn't X-Box, Windows, or Windows phone. Android, Linux, and Mac could see their support disappear rather quickly.

    Microsoft produces software for Macs, iPhone/iPad, Android and their own platform. They have been cross-platform for decades.

    I don't trust them to handle it as such. I see Minecraft getting locked away on their platforms only and everything else getting the shaft for support. They've got one heck of a ruthless history.

    As I get older in life, aunts, uncles, grand parents, parents, dogs, cats, the old ice cream store down the road from my old house, my old house, and other things. Stuff I like to think I didn't take for granted but no matter how much I try I always feel like I missed out on something more and appreciate it even more when it's gone. At least I have the memories to keep me company as I walk to the grave eventually.
