1st Attempt> started off decently, had a little area set up as a base. Was having issues growing wheat. A super-sniper skeleton managed to kill me while bobbing in a waterfall. >.> I didn't keep track of my score, but it was sub-20. Game lasted maybe 30-35 minutes.
2nd Attempt> Took a lot of damage on my way down, and was blown into a fine red mist by a surprise creeper attack. Game lasted roughly 12 minutes.
3rd Attempt> Had a great little base set up: working wheat farm, lots of lava-based lighting. Was working on expanding a bit, when I made a critical mistake: I took my eyes off the screen for like, 30 seconds while standing next to my killin' window, and a creeper blew a gaping hole in my house; somehow the spider that was right there failed to die, and took a chunk outta me while I was fighitng it. To make matters worse, while I was patching up the big hole another creeper dropped in and vaped me. That entire sequence lasted about 25 seconds >.> Got to about 24 pts, give or take a 1 or 2, and game lasted about 2 hours

Attempt 4 will commence later today, I may or may not make a video of it

I know, another LP series! Woo! This is my first ever LP Series, Ive been wanting to do one for months, but only recently got my hands on a headset with a mic. I'll be using a number of mods for my LP, including "Better than Wolves", "More Trees", "Mo'Creatures", "Nature Overhaul" and "Buildcraft". Please check it out, I'll admit the sound quality isn't that great (I will try and fix that for episode two!). Comments and suggests are welcome! I also take comments and suggestions on my twitter, @coyotesquest.

    Thank you!

posted a message on [1.1] Minerraria - The Terraria Mod [V0.9.9.9] [SMP] [Forge] [Bosses! Demon Eyes! Merchants! Eater Of Souls!] [Updating!]
First off, I apologize in advance if you feel offended by my post, I'm not seeking to offend anyone, merely offer a suggestion in hopes of establishing better communication and co-operation in the modding community.

There are at least 2 other people also doing minecraft/terraria cross-over mods, that all do more or less the same sort of thing. Why dont the three of you get together and collaborate on one big terraria/minecraft mod rather than duplicating efforts?

posted a message on [1.7.3] Achievements+ v2.0 [NOW WITH MORE ACHIEVEMENTS] [UPDATES!]
I'm having a problem, and I believe its because of this mod, strangely. I've tested my various backups (I do a backup of my .jar file every couple of mods, or after major mods are added, so I have a history of my modding) and it only happens when I add Achievements+. The game will load fine, I will be able to load my save-file ok as well. But somewhere between 30 to 180 seconds (seems random) it will go to a loading screen, which reads "Saving Chunks" and then crash out.

I dont ever seem to get an error report (regardless of what causes the crash *shakes fist at minecraft launcher*) so I can't post one. I have the following mods installed, in order:

Modloader, audiomod, guiAPI, modoptionsAPI, guiAPI patch, prop reader, crystal clear waters, nature overhaul, better than wolves, more stackables, recipe book, sign tags.

I ran with this setup for about 12 hours with no troubles.

    Later I added:
scotTools, mo'trees, modloaderMP, buildcraft (base and transport only), then achievements+.

As I said, I tried various combinations of those last 5 and only had problems when I installed Achievements+.

Anyone have *any* idea of what the trouble might be? Im at a total loss.

I take it no one else believes that this sort of cross-compatibility is good?

Has anyone made a map generator (for SSP) that would create a world that was mostly underground? Or even fully underground? Perhaps having some way to modify the distribution of ores would be useful for this as well.

posted a message on [REQ] Compatibility patches?
    Heyo all

I enjoy using mods, I use a fair number of them, but I've noticed a lot of problems when it comes to duplicating ideas, so I'm hoping there are people out there willing to either co-operate/exchange information when making mods, or people willing to make patches to help bring things together a little bit. I realize this seems a little vague, so I will provide some examples, based on my own mod usage.

Specifically, I am referring to a partial handful of mods I use, but I am certain there are other cross-overs that could be dealt with in some manner!

I use Better than Wolves, Metalworks, Buildcraft (among numerous others).

Buildcraft and Better than Wolves both have recipes for, and recipes that use, gears. But the gears have different recipes, even though they essentially do the same thing. Similarly, Buildcraft and.. one of those other two (can't remember which, I think its Metalworks) also make use of pipes. Again, recipes could be combined or made compatible with each other!

Metalworks makes use of Steel, combining iron ore and coal dust, then smelting it. There is a mod for Trains/Zeppelins (forget the name, or who made it) that also makes use of steel, but with a totally different recipe. If things were made cross-compatible through a patch or through mod-author co-operation, it could cut down on things like texture use and/or item ID#s as well as making recipes easier/less frustrating to work with.

Other examples include the various food and farming type mods; there has been some cross-cooperation here in a few cases already, but there could always be more.

Anyways, I think I'm done rambling. Its a request of sorts, either for more communication between mod writers, or some sort of series of compatiblity patches.

I have no java programming capabilities, otherwise I'd volunteer to do it myself!

I also want to impress on everyone that I am not criticizing, only trying to offer a suggestion. I very, very much appreciate the work everyone puts into making these mods!
