posted a message on [V1.2.5]Formivore's Mods - City, Wall & Ruin Generators
I always had a soft spot for this mod. I didnt use it much, mostly due to th e feeling that finding a giant city was almost like cheating , due to the volume of materials like ladders and such.. I know, I m weird that way. But with the addition of NPC villages and mineshafts and strongholds, having these seems less cheating, especially if I set the city sizes to small or something. However! What really sold it for me? UNDERGROND CITIES.

    I love you formivore!

I've been eyeing this mod (CC) for awhile, but havn't used it yet (and won't be until it updates to 1.8!). I do however have a question! With the terrain generation in Cubic Chunks, does it also adjust the spread of where ores can be found? Is that configurable? Would suck to dig a mine at, say, Y=-500 and never find even coal :\

    Make them Weeping Angels.

    Nuff' said.

Oooh, nice. The weeping angels are terrifying. MAybe while they are paralyzed by looking at them, they are immune to damage. :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif:

I especially like the second idea. The zombie sounds are lame, and a horrific, evil scream would be awesome. Another idea might be to make them so they are NOT paralyzed by looking at them when within like.. 4-5 blocks. So you can freeze em at long range, but if they get close, you're screwed. I am a bit dissapointed that they are burned by the sunlight, but their dark/black nature I guess it makes sense.

Like some of the other posters I tend to have the opposite problem; tons of sheeep and not much else. On my latest map (started this morning while my net connection was down) sheep were the only passive mob I saw for my entire first minecraft day... I went out to dig up some pigs/cows for meat and took awhile to find em. But I've got tons of wool.

    Quote from alexanderyou

im pretty sure there is already a mod that doubles the map height, not positive though

I remmeber seeing one for 1.7.x a long while back, but I didnt use it because it changed the way the game saves apparently, much like what minecraft extended did. Now that its moddable, I'm waiting to see if someone puts a configurable hieght mod out <3

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned ,and I honestly don't feel like going through 81 pages to find out: it appears that you cannot starve to death. I've been at 0 food and 0.5 hearts for 10 minutes without dying. Woo! Unless this is a bug, then boo!

I knew oceans were wide, but I never realized just how deep they could be. I just loaded up a new 1.8pre2 game and hit up an ocean after coming across a river that was 22 blocks deep.. this ocean area was nearly 60 blocks deep. I actually died of drowning before getting to the bottom @[email protected]

Yeah, my understanding is that it will allow select modders (wether by Mojang picking them, or them signing up for something, I have no idea) easier access to code to make modding for them easier and quicker.

I hope they leave in the world height code... Im not a modder, but Id love to see a mod that allows you to customize the world height!

posted a message on First thing you did in the pre-release of 1.8.
Went looking for a ravine.. fortunately I didn't have to go too far! It was rather neat in that it started and ended inside hills, but the bulk of it was on a plain. Within the ravine was the entrance to a giant abandoned mine shaft as well that I'm still exploring @[email protected]

posted a message on My Rant
I realize the OP has been edited to remove the rant, but I wanted to toss in a couple of pennies here. To address your comment about cooked pork looking weird cause its yellow.. well, first off its more of a dark off-white/very-light-beige than yellow, but I am not arguing color. What I *am* going to say is, "Have you ever actually COOKED a pork chop?"

As a white meat, cooked pork chops do come out that color IRL.. they're only d ark if cooked with some sort of sauce or if charred >.>

Leave the pork chops alone! They're finally the right color!

posted a message on Hunger doesn't need to go, but something needs to be done.
    Quote from redawgts

Not only is it stackable, but you can now hold more food in one slot than you ever could in your whole inventory before. That being said, they do need to come up with some sort of healing potion or something that you can make or find.

Im down with this suggestion. Cure poison potions too. If they don't get put in, I guess I'll find a mod that does it... I seem to remember their being some sort of alchemy/potions mod. Id rather not have to though, heh. With how brutal the poison can be, we really need some way to insta-heal, even if its on a cool-down or something.

Edit: I'll note that I do like the hunger feature (I used to play with the Survivability mod) but do agree that it should be toggleable. If Mojang doesnt, im sure there will be a mod that does, though.

Editedit: With food no longer insta-healing, it kind of makes golden apples a whole lot less useful. I'm also unsure of the usefulness of cake now that food stacks.

posted a message on Pre Releases...
    Quote from Aux13

I partial think it is answer number two, it saddens me to see so many "1.8 IS RUINING MY MINECRAFT EXPERIENCE I HATE YOU NOTCH" threads, while I think it does nothing but diversify Minecraft further, even though I have my own reservations on a couple things. The most major reason I believe though would be number 3. The truth is we have never had an update even close to the size or overhaul of this one (some my argue the Halloween update was, but 1,8 sill beats it in features). So the need for a big testing base was nerve really needed before now. That said, whether this leak was an accident or on purpose I believe our behavior here will influence if we get another pre-release, as of right now I give our reception of it a D, so sadly our odds of another are not looking so good.

I definitely agree with this. People need to smarten up and quit whining, dive into the pre-release, find some bugs and send em off to Mojang. Lets make the best of this unprecedented pre-release to make the game all the more awesome. Seriously people, grow up.
