theres such thing as constructive criticism, bro... not every critic has to make someone mad.
I'm not a modder, myself, but I think this would be really cool According to what these peeps are saying about how hard it would be to mod, though, I would say it wouldn't be worth the time. Love the idea, though Keep thinking up some stuff! I'm sure you'll come up with something else awesome that someone will mod for you I've come up with several ideas that peeps are making for me right now and, believe me when I say that, some ideas will need to be scraped in order for that to happen ... but it will
It's more dependent on how people handle that kind of thing. Some people take criticism better than others.
Constructive criticism isn't all 'rainbows and friendship'. Someone always gets hurt.
You can have your opinion, I'll have mine. Best not to continue like this or else it'll be like the forum version of the Vietnam war.
I though that making portals instantly loading would be a nice addition.
My description of the mod's features would be:
-instantly teleporting through the portal, no downloading terrain screen
-can see through portal as if the dimensions were connected
-compatible with other mods, can apply to their portals
If you like the idea, want to make it, or want to add future suggestions, please reply.
1. Coupled with the insane lag, you can't teleport to another dimension without it being loaded. Seriously. It's impossible.
2. Also not possible, would require the other dimension to be loaded.
3. Why does no one understand that this kind of 'compatibility' with other mods is impossible? I thought it'd be common sense. Guess not..
So, you can wait for smelting, you can wait for brewing but you can't wait for crafting?
If you assemble something in real life, you don't have to wait 10 seconds after assembling it for it to fuse together with magic or some stupid crap like that.
If you smelt or brew something in real life, THAT takes time.
So no, I won't wait for crafting. The 'you can wait for smelting, and brewing but not crafting' phrase makes literally no sense whatsoever.
Well, I don't know about any mods that add other people/players to the world that you can discover, but you could try a server.
People are out there, ready to be found on servers. Entire cities and communities are built by players that add life to any server. You have a really good idea Creepers, but it may not be possible to add using a mod/plugin. Servers and the few mods I listed earlier may be the closest thing you will get to add "life" to the pixelated world we all know and love.
I'm pretty sure he meant the sense of life, like there are other humans out there, somewhere, rather than have players running around left and right. It's just not the same thing.
Being alone, but seeing the odd hint of human life out there, is not the same as joining a server and seeing/interacting with other players.
He never said 'add' life, just simulate it. It's a very possible thing.
Okay, so I know what you're thinking, and no, this is NOT an obsidian tools and armor thread. Instead, this is an idea for a mod. The reason I didn't suggest this in the suggestions section is because it seemed more like a mod. Now then, the blocks and items would have their own durability and power. Dirt, for example, wouldn't make a great sword, Dirt swords wouldn't be very durable or powerful, and dirt armor wouldn't protect you from much. Food tools can be eaten, and stone armor would take X 2 damage from pickaxes. I think this would be a great mod, and yes, it will be hard to code, so very experienced modders and coders with lots of time and patience would be perfect for this! Ciao! -Minor107
I wouldn't call it 'hard'. Tools, armor etc. aren't very complex and are generally pretty easy.
The real problem lies with the concept of 'everything'. There are pickaxes, axes, shovels, swords, and hoes, which sums up to 5 tools. Then we have booties, leggings, chestplates, and helmets, which sums up to 4 pieces of armor.
That's 9 different items, each with their own aspects and strengths.
There are roughly about 314 blocks and items in Minecraft.
For every 1 of these blocks/items, that's 9 items.
You are essentially asking to create 2826 items.
I've been a modder for three years, and even I'm not willing to do that.
Heck, I don't think anyone would be willing to do that.
And if they are, they're plain lying. That would take weeks, months even.
For making the series that gave you the great idea for this great mod. For all you know, they might do a mod spotlight on this, so all their fans can see what its like to fight israphel. If mods didn't crash my minecraft, I would try this mod too.
Hmph. Perhaps you are right.
I guess I was being naive. You'll have to forgive me.
I know you didn't, but it sounds like your going around saying that Simon and Lewis are just using your mod to make the series without giving credit to you
Simon and Lewis don't use this. If they did, I'm sure they would at least put up a link to it. But I know they dont. They do everything with their friends and have fun with it. They have a script and everything. It's not done with this. Its just another fan-made mod. Shadow of Israphel was planned even before this came out. Sorry but if your saying that they are taking the idea from them well I'm sorry but check the dates before you go saying stuff about others.
What?
I'm sorry, I honestly don't know what you mean. Are you saying I started that series?
I didn't >_>
Wow Bethesda, I used to LOVE your Fallout series that you created/worked on, but come on, out of all the games that use the word "Scrolls", you choose this one?

That wasn't complaining. It was a simple observation and criticism.
Someone has to be the critical *****. Guess that's me, huh?

I agree up until the 'sue' thing.
You cannot and will not be sued for releasing a mod for minecraft based on and/or using ingame sounds/assets from this particular game.
You CAN be sued if you monetise it .eg. adfly.

If you are going to be an ass about it, I can't say I will miss you at all.

I may remake this mod.
And you were so damn confusing.
You made everything a cryptic message.

That guy up there told me I should be thanking them.
For what exactly?

W-what?
Huh?
When did I do that?
