Nov 15, 2013Greetings and good tidings to everyone! With the holidays just around the corner, it looks like it's time to dust off the old decorations and spruce up your dirt house with some festive cheer! Yes, that can only mean one thing:Posted in: Minecraft Mods
ChristmasCraft for Minecraft 1.6.4!
I am currently updating the code and hope to have a beta version 3.0 out by the end of November. All of the existing features you know and love will be included (even fruitcake!), and maybe even a new surprise or two!

Question: If you remove Christmascraft from your server, will the snow start to melt, or do you HAVE to keep the mod installed in order for that to happen?
By default, snow and ice do not melt naturally in Minecraft. ChristmasCraft adds this feature in, so it must be installed. Otherwise, you would have to remove it by hand.
Also, make sure you're running the latest version (either 2.0.6 for MC 1.4.5 or 2.1.0 for MC 1.4.6), as there was a bug with melting ice in a previous version.
Dec 25, 2012I apologize to everyone who had problems downloading the mod! Despite what Mediafire said on the error page, I was never contacted about the issue. It seems that they flagged the download because of all the traffic, but it looks like they got it resolved. In future, I will try to have multiple download mirrors available.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Thank you all for your support, and have a happy holiday!

You should make a .cfg download that replaces our limited-time snow to forever.
There already is a .cfg file you can edit! Just look in your config folder for a file named ChristmasCraft.cfg and change 'forceChristmasTime' from false to true to make it snow all year round!

I have a question. If I remove this mod will the biomes get reset back to normal? The server I am adminning the player hates the weather and everything else since it screws with bee breeding.
If you remove the mod, biome temperatures will be reset to normal, but snow and ice will stay around (vanilla Minecraft doesn't automatically remove them). However, if you keep the mod installed, everything will return to normal in January, including the ice and snow melting!
Dec 21, 2012ChristmasCraft version 2.1.0 for Minecraft 1.4.6 is now out! This is only a code update, and does not add any new features. You can still download version 2.0.6 for Minecraft 1.4.5 under the "Older versions" tab in the original post. Happy Holidays!Posted in: Minecraft Mods

Okay I will say again: The weather seems to be bugged because it isnt snowing everywhere only in small little patches in my world and in other places it rains, and in other places still, there is no weather at all! Any way to fix this? Other then that the mod is great! Oh and I dont know if this is a problem with this mod or Optifine, but when I installed Optifine the weather stopped working completely, I mean it starts to snow (or rain) for like 1 second and then it disappears.
The weather isn't bugged, it just doesn't snow everywhere - places like jungles and swamps will still have rain since its hotter there, and deserts have no rain/snow at all. Not sure why Optifine would break it though, maybe you need to install things in a different order?

I hope this hasn't been reported but I read back and bit and didn't see any mention. Installed this mod on a server, everything ran fine but we eventually decided the jingle bells as it snows was too much. I didn't want to remove the mod immediately, because then the snow doesn't melt. Instead I set the clock on the server PC ahead to Jan 2014 and threw chunk loaders around to let the snow melt before pulling the mod. (no offense it's a great mod)
Anyway, when the ice melted, it didn't, the ice stayed and instead a source water block was spawned just above the ice block. Kind of made a mess.
Just thought I'd pass that along in case that needs to be fixed before the end of the month.
Thanks for the bug report! I'll have that fixed in 2.0.6! I'll also add a client configuration option to disable the snow sound.

yeah this isnt YOUR mod... christmas mod is another mod wich was earlyer then you so you dont have any rights to the name...
If you're accusing me of copying ChristmasMod (note that the name is different), I think you have it backwards. I first released ChristmasCraft in December 2011. The creator of ChristmasMod, Joost_96, tried to contact me in November 2012 so he could see the source code, but I did not reply. In fact, I don't mind someone borrowing ideas from my mod. I only request that people not use my copyrighted code, graphics, or audio. Anyway, thanks for your concern, and have a happy holiday!

Some new bugs i found :
1.You cannot open gifts in SMP ( it crashes)
2.When you try to grow a christmas tree in a christmas tree stand it crashes once again ( Multiplayer )
Hope they get fixed in 2.0.5 asap !
I haven't been able to replicate these bugs on client or server. Make sure you're running the latest version (2.0.4 as of now), and don't try to spawn gifts via inventory editors or through the console. If you're still having crashes, please message me with the full crash report. Thanks!

Love the mod! Could you add a configuration option to disable the colder temperatures? My players have been having problems with their farms being killed off. (Alternatively, if there's a way to make it snow without creating ice blocks, that would work too!) Thanks!
Preventing all of the water from freezing isn't an easy task, but if you don't want a block to freeze or have snow on it, all you have to do is place a solid block somewhere above it!
Dec 5, 2012ChristmasCraft 2.0.2 is now up! This version fixes the crashing issues with dedicated servers. Also note that block IDs have changed as well, in order to adhere to Forge's block numbering standards. Make sure to update both your client AND server with this version!Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Dec 4, 2012ChristmasCraft 2.0.0 is now available! See the first post in this thread for download and installation instructions. Minecraft Forge IS required, and the download should work for both client and server 1.4.5.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
