Welcome to Tekkit Town!

Hello Minecrafters! My name is NetBlitzer, a Let's Player of Minecraft.

My main series is called Tekkit Town, a place where I, NetBlitzer, as well as my friend Frostcrag64, help to build a town from a quaint little place into a thriving city, while also competing with each other to be the best engineer in the land. The town in question is controlled by another friend of mine, who helps us in return for helping him by giving us some power, and also giving us quests and competitions to go complete.

Here's a YouTube preview of the most recent episode of Tekkit Town!

However, the town with just us three players isn't very fun. As the creator of the series, I decided to make the executive decision to allow the community to join with us, and possibly even make their own Let's Plays out of the Tekkit Town idea!

Some things you'll need to know:
• If you are a normal player, and you get accepted, you'll likely only have a few days on the server. This is to allow other players to get onto the server and also enjoy it.
• If we are experiencing fewer players asking to join, your time will likely be extended.
• When you are on the server, your progress and personality will constantly be monitored. How you act and what you do will determine how long you stay on the server.
• While you are on the server, if Rsd1012, the town mayor, asks you to do something, it is highly recommended that you comply.
• If Rsd1012 hasn't asked you to do something, you are allowed to construct your house in the town. We will likely show you where to build; otherwise, be sensible on where you build your house.
• Your house will be constructed by materials you partially collect. However, you can ask Rsd for some town materials.
• The server is griefing protected. If you attempt to grief, you will instantly be banned and removed from ever coming back on this server, or any future server that NetBlitzer may create.
• Also, if you grief, you may ruin the chances for other players to join on the server.
If you follow all of that, and you understand what is expected of you, and you still would like to join, then there are some things that you must have to be able to play.
1. First and foremost, you must have a legal copy of Minecraft.
2. You must have the latest recommended build of Tekkit from the Technic Launcher (www.technicpack.net/tekkit)
3. You must have either Steam or Skype to be able to join the server.
That's about all the things that you need to know and have to be able to join the server! An example application would look something like this:

Minecraft Name:
Age:
Steam Name:
Skype Name:
Time Zone:
Reasons for wanting to join:
What will you do:
Will you Let's Play:

And that's about it! If you want to include more stuff, then go right ahead! The better your application, the higher the chances are of you getting on.

Hope you guys enjoy the series as much as I've enjoyed making it!

If you want to Let's Play on the server, there's a few extra things you need to know:
1. You must have both Skype and Steam.
2. You must have a YouTube account and add the name of your account to your application.
3. You will be monitored even more than normal.
4. You must PM me with your YouTube name, Skype name, and Steam name. You must also tell me what time zone you're in.
5. I will likely do an extra little interview with you so that I know you better.
And that's it guys! If you want to join, just write out a short little application as a reply. I will be reading them all and making a list of possible players to join. If you are accepted, I will then PM you or add you on Steam to tell you the news!

Q&A:

Q: NetBlitzer, why all the formalities?
A: I'm adding all the rules and everything just so you guys know what to expect. They are not to get you angry or afraid in any way. In fact, they're partly there to save this Let's Play from any rage or complaints about not telling everything.

Q: Why do I need Hamachi?
A: You don't anymore! We've removed that limitation!

You've all been added to the list of soon and probable people to join the server! When you'll be joining has yet to be determined, but we may soon have a dedicated server for Tekkit Town!

P.S Know any good free game video things for recording?

Free? No. I think there's a couple out there that are only a few dollars though. If you want the real best though, you're probably going to have to go with Fraps, which is 37 dollars. That's what I use, and what most of the YouTube gaming community uses.

What will you do: I will do what I am told to do and avoid what I'm told not to do.
Will you Let's Play: I am hoping to try doing tekkit let's plays and would really like to do it on your server and I know there is almost no chance I will stay permanently but I would just like to do a let's play regardless on the server with people I can trust will not "troll" around.

P.S. I am not getting my replacement computer until possibly Wednesday and the best way to contact me will be Skype. Thank you regardless of your choice and good luck with tekkit town! (sorry about rambling :/ )

You've both been added to the list of people to join, and seeing as not many others have added their own applications, there's a good chance you'll be on for awhile.

By the way Taylerlrox, can you tell me what your YouTube account name is? Just another thing I need to know if you're going to be a Let's Player.

posted a message on Minecraft Revamped | Abandoned for Good
Edit: This mod has been abandoned. I explain better in my post about it. I'm sorry guys.

Hello, everyone. Some of you may know my last mod, the 4x4 crafting grid. Well... let's just say this blows it out of the water...

(Want to talk to me directly? Am I not on the Live stream? Well then try my public server! The IP is 75.199.1.30:25566 ! It's a legit server, so don't expect to get every little thing! The admins and mods are friendly, and will help you out if you need help.) NOTICE: Server is currently down.

Minecraft Revamped!

What is it?
Minecraft Revamped is a mod encompassing all aspects of Minecraft and making them better. Let's just list out some of the main features it will add.
Note: This will be the biggest mod in all of Minecraft history.

At the very heart of it all...
Is the terrain generator. Many people have felt that it needs to be, well, revamped. What I'm aiming to do is a bit more than what most people expect from any mod, and thus, you can already tell that this will be the biggest mod in all of Minecraft history. That is because, the main aspect of this entire mod is to rewrite the terrain generator and make it create vertically. We already have infinite worlds in 2 axis, why not all three? This will rewrite how maps are created to make chunks 32x32x32 cubes that can stack in any direction, thus providing a truly infinite world. Of course with that comes with some other things, which I will speak of later in this post.

Raindrops keep falling on my head...
Oh yes. If you got what that meant you will already be jumping up and down with glee. Minecraft is getting weather. And not boring rain or snow, but full on dynamic weather, that changes constantly to environmental factors. Getting bored of constant sunshine? Why not have thunderstorms, blizzards, dust clouds, tornadoes, hurricanes, and much, much more. There will be so much to affect weather, it will be as random as your own world.

Since when was 128 the limit?
Other than changing 128 to infinite in map size, I will also be changing the limit on blocks. Expect something like, oh, I don't know, 1000 or so new blocks? 2000+ items? Hundreds of new mobs? (Note: This doesn't mean that I will make this many blocks, just that there will be the possibility for this many blocks.) Tens of new DISTINCT biomes? The list will go on and on, as this is truly an infinite world.

Can't go over it, can't go under...
What does this mean? It means that there will be huge changes to how terrain is actually made. Want a mountain taller than Everest? You could get that. Want a canyon that stretches for miles? Well that could happen too. Want a salt flat where it never rains and water dries up extremely fast? While that may be far fetched, that is on the plans. No more will you have 60 block mountains, 10 to 20 block "super trees", or 10 block deep "oceans". This will allow for things to actually create as they would in life. Imagine, staring up at 50 to 100 block canopies. Or jumping off a protrusion of rock for 10 or 15 seconds of free fall. Or being able to dive to the depths of the ocean, thousands of blocks below. This was the main thing I was setting out to do, though I am taking much more with me.

Tl;dr
While you may have been lazy, I'll give a brief summary.
This will edit most of the way Minecraft functions. It will allow for 32x32x32 chunks to be made, that can be stacked in all 3 directions. This will allow for infinite possibilities in worlds and more. Also, weather will be added to create a new, dynamic feel to Minecraft. From clouds blocking sunlight, to flash floods and more.

Better Life
Because life can always be better!
Better Life is my newly announced mod, in which I will work to create, well, a better life! Really, it's an attempt to create a much better environment in the world. This will be the content hungry version of my mods, including hunger, thirst, mobs, and more. Of course everything in this mod will be entirely optional, and I will work to make it as user friendly as possible. Currently, this is what Better Trees is moving into.

Want to talk to me, or watch me code?
Guess what everyone! You can now watch me code at my livestream! And if you want to just look at pictures, you can also see my Tumblr page]/url]!

I will be creating the terrain generator first. Then weather. Then content. Side projects are SIDE projects, not the main thing. I will do them when I'm tired, or when the main mod is done.

The ideas will flesh out as I get closer to releases and such. I'm open to any new things that any one wants to add. Thinking up hundreds of things takes a toll on the mind. All ideas will be credited.

Better Trees:
Better trees is a side project in which I add many new types of trees and plants to the Minecraft world. Currently, there is only 2 new trees. The Ultra tree, and the Mother tree. Both are big, with the Mother tree being around 30 to 50 blocks in diameter. They both have 2x2 trunks.
Here's a video, done by Jupperify! Thanks!

You guys do know that light is added to a block when the block is first called. So when you make the block, you add a new variable to the block that allows it to emit light. Not sure what the variable is right now, especially with modloader. Also, to make blocks look like torches and what not, just edit the render mode. Again, not sure of the exact variable, but it's also very simple.

Quote from Garbanas

Entirely possible.
Currently you can have 2^31 chunks in X and Z axis. So 2^31 * 16 blocks = 34'359'738'368 blocks = 34'359'738 km = 1/4 the distance to the sun.
Although I'd suggest to NetBlitzer to cap the maximum of blocks in each direction to 2^31 blocks = 67'108'864 32-block-chunks, because of item positions and such that would start to act weird beyond that limit.
Going below 50km from the sea level you'd be in the Upper Mantle of the earth. Counting from there to the surface of the moon, you could still go 1'756'749.648 km further into space. But still - you'd need 52'465'175 km MORE to get to Mars :wink.gif:

edit: but seriously - who would want that? these are HUGE distances. Now with multiworld (the Nether being our first), I'd go for that option. Who digs down 50km or builds higher than 1km - on a mountaintop?! I agree that the heightlimit has to be increased and it's good to know that crazy things would be possible, but don't get overly excited. You won't EVER use all of the possibilities that come with this. Not with the current walking speed anyway :biggrin.gif:

edit2: Average walking speed according to the wiki is 15.372 km per hour. Going from one end of the world to the other would take you ~139701 hours = ~5821 days = ~16 years. Have fun! :wink.gif:

edit3: Fun idea: Why not allow us to limit how many chunks are being generated in each direction. When we reach the last chunk(s) change the way how terrain is generated to generate an ocean, so that water falls over the edges of the last chunk(s) (creating THE RIMFALLS :biggrin.gif: ). So the Minecraft world is a cube after all and not a "sphere" like all those non-believers were claiming :tongue.gif:

Woah there. Seems like you are excited about all this talk of the farlands. To tell you the truth, I've only thought about them once or twice for the mod. Mainly because it would take far too long to get there...
Anyways, space has been tossed around before in my head. Mainly, it would involve some sort of propulsion (obviously) and some sort of container. I was thinking ships that could be self-designable? That would give people the satisfaction of building a unique ship AND going into space. Unless their ship explodes or breaks apart, of course.
And about the distance problems. Why not make it so that when you exit the atmosphere, it loads a new "world"? And maybe every step you go further into space does this? That would remove the idea of chunks bugging out at large distances, would it not?

I dunno, people. We'll just have to wait until the source code comes out. Hopefully I can get it and be one of the few people.

Yes, I'm working on it right now. The random seed portion is leading to some bugs, but I'm working it out. I may have the chunks resized as fast as tomorrow!

Currently, the only help truly needed is ideas. I can let you test things as I finish, though you must expect a few bugs as I work it all out. Hopefully, Notch won't make an update that ruins my progress again. That's what happened with this. Was nearly done resizing chunks to work and stuff, when Notch decided to change how worlds were created. Effectively ruined all my progress :| So, I'll continue working on this. Expect chunks resized by mid next week possibly. Vertical chunks should come out around 5 days to 2 weeks after that. I need to rewrite how layers are formed/stored :|

posted a message on [MOD] 4x4 Crafting V1.2 | (1.2_02)
I AM RELEASING INFO ON MY NEXT MOD! I HAVE ALREADY GIVEN AWAY THE NAME OF MINECRAFT REVAMPED. I WILL GIVE AWAY INFO TO WHAT IT IS WHEN SOMEONE ANSWERS THE RIDDLES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST!

Hello, everyone! Now many of you have probably seen Spike's request thread for a 4x4 crafting grid and have seen my progress. But, after many challenges and PMs with another modder who was having trouble, I have gotten it to work! Now the variety of recipes and what not are so much larger! And I know, some people will probably complain that it's a stupid idea and that you can do everything in a 3x3. But if you think about it for some time, it's really reasonable. Why should you be able to make things like cars and stuff in the first thing you make in the game? Well of course you shouldn't! So, look no further for some proof! Here are the pictures!

The current texture. Doesn't require a new texture file!

Craft grid.

See! It works!

To craft it, use this:
:Iron: :Iron: :Iron:
:cobblestone: :Bench: :cobblestone:
:wood: [] :wood:
(Suggested by NiTR0)

Powder Keg:

:GP: :tnt: :tnt: :GP:
:GP: :tnt: :tnt: :GP:
:Logs^: :GP: :GP: :Logs^:
Has 2.5 times the blast radius of TNT. The fuse lasts 10 seconds. Suggested by terra_ff6.

Future Concepts:
Longbow:
Will shoot farther than a regular bow. May also do more damage and use a new arrow. Handle being needed is also an option.
[] :|: ]" title="-<->" />
:|: [] ]" title="-<->" />
:|: [] ]" title="-<->" />
[] :|: ]" title="-<->" />

]" title="-<->" /> = string

Crossbow:
Shoots roughly same distance as long bow (maybe farther, or straighter). May pierce/go through enemies. Does more damage. Needs a bolt to fire. Takes longer to reload.
:Frame: :|: :|: :|:
:|: :wood: ]" title="-<->" /> []
:|: ]" title="-<->" /> :wood: []

:Frame: = bow

Bolt:
:Iron:
:Iron:
:|:
]" title="-<->" />

Trains are also a future idea, but information will be withheld until further notice.

Currently, I'm taking suggestions for what I can do with this. I know there is a lot, I'm just kind of tired right now and need to sleep or something.
