Lunatrius, could you possibly add basic cut and paste option for creative mode? It would be extremely useful. I would love to directly paste schematics into my creative world.

Damn right you do! Speaking of which... I wanted to drop by and show you guys this, just real quick before I leave again.

The printed copies of Fallout: Equestria finally got sent out. It's a quality print and I'm very happy to have them. Once Project Horizons finishes I'll likely read it again then move on to PH. FoE is incredible and all of you should read it if you haven't.

    Have a cute comic:

It is a shadow of what it once was. The brony community here really was something special back in the day. This was where I was introduced to the show, saw wonderful art, listened to music, read incredible fanfics, and discussed poni-pone with cool people. But it's just not here anymore.

Sometimes I think I should move on, however it can be hard leaving such a nostalgic place. But maybe it is finally time. I've been over three years and I've loved every moment of it. Thanks for making my life better, guys. You all made my dark days a little brighter.

After all, an ending can also mean a new beginning.

    Quote from Zeno410

I agree with Grum about the login issues. It's a huge security issue in a game where all you've really bought is a login. But he's very wrong about modder's complaints. Mojang has no need to *change* the obfuscation with each version; that creates an enormous additional burden on modders with that policy for no benefit.

I am glad they're working on improving the code and not just dumping out release after release, each requiring a complete rework of all my mods and modpacks. It would be nice to be off that treadmill but at least it's moving slower and that's a relief.

Indeed. Many of the things Grum discussed seem to fully justify the things Mojang has done and will do.

The only thing that was bothering me about what Grum said was his argument about the API and using examples like Bukkit. Maybe I was misinterpreting things but it sounded like the Mod API will be closer to a script extender, not something like Forge or Modloader... which is highly concerning. People didn't wait for years for a client side Bukkit. We want a native mod manager.

After reading the recent discussion between Grum and some Modders, I've lost all faith in this company.Edit: http://blog.asie.pl/...iscuss-modding/

I hate Grum's condescending attitude here. Totally unprofessional.... but he is right on almost everything. The modding community has written itself into a corner and is kicking its feet at Mojang to fix it for them.

Going on vacation for a week. Gonna try to cram these three fanfics in over the time:

The Life and Times of a Winning Pony
    Background Pony
    Fallout Equestria: Pink Eyes

We'll see how I do. This is a lot of reading. I'll probably need to skip one of them. I've also ordered my printed copy of Fallout Equestria. Looking forward to getting that upon my return.

I hope the finale is good, and that some discussion happens in here. This place could use some activity, guys...

Engie_ninja is correct. Algebra is not remotely useful in day-to-day life for almost everyone. You can go your entire life and never need it once quite easily. That isn't to say algebra isn't useful though, or that an understanding of math isn't important. Just that it's really not a requirement for a normal person in any way.

Anyway, school teaches a wide range of subjects because people in general are a wide subject. Everyone has different interests and will take different paths in life. How do you then prioritize what is or isn't important? Algebra is certainly important to someone who wants to becoming a scientist or engineer. I'm a big fan of history, but many people would claim it's unimportant information. In a way they're right, because knowing about the French Revolution or the rise of Mesopotamia won't help you get out of bed any easier to go work at a regular job.

That's not the point. Keeping a rounded, educated population is the point. Maybe if we had a way to educate people more individually we'd get a more specialized and efficient curriculum, but we currently don't. There's only so many teachers for so many students.

Oh Christ, episode 25 is just awful.

The stakes suddenly and randomly get raised at the end only for things to work out conveniently for forcibly exacerbated issue to be settled. We've watched 3-4 episodes over the course of a couple years setting up the Equestrian Games only for it to be a goddman Spike episode. I was much more interested in what was going on in the background than Spike's little drama episode. Why wasn't this part of a two episode story arc where they really delve into the Equestrian games, with returning characters (Gilda and Lightning Dust?), or show magic? Where's the villain? Does this mean the finale for this season is going to be a compressed mess like S3? Ugh. There's so much wrong here.

This season has been so mediocre. I pray the final episode somehow pulls a win. This show is throwing up on itself and it just won't stop.

... Meanwhile, I'm reading Hard Reset's sequel, A Stitch in Time. Loving it so far. At least the fandom is still competent.

Edit: Finished it. Loved it, even the side story going along with it. The ending really sucker punches you too with a cliff hanger. Onwards to its sequel, You Can Fight Fate!

Any book is good for a 13 year old. Don't think your age makes you any less subjective to enjoying an excellent story. :D

I would recommend Predator Cities, also named The Hungry City Quartet, written by Phillip Reeves. It's set in a far-future apocalyptic scenario where giant, moving cities roam the Earth, and the only available resources are other cities. Larger cities catching and 'cannibalizing' smaller cities is common.

It maybe sounds silly, but it writes itself into being totally believable and practical. It's a really interesting universe with solid writing and good characters. There's an emerging mystery as the story goes along, and each book (there's four of them) becomes progressively more mature and awesome as it goes on.

    Hello peeps.

I've been reading more fanfics as usual (because seriously, fanfics in this fandom rock). I'm halfway through Hard Reset. It's basically Groundhogs Day, except with Twilight facing a horrible catastrophe over and over until she solves her way out of it. Great, great story. It's relatively short, to the point (no straying or bad pacing), and it's very much entertaining. Everyone should read it.

Also, it has a sequel, cuz yay reading!

Edit: I just finished it. Eh. The second half isn't as good as the first half. I'd still recommend it though.

There's a sequel to Dangerous Business. Really hyped to read it once completed.

I recently finished Off The Edge of The Map. It was enjoyable, but nothing special. Pacing is a bit fast, and nothing extraordinary really happened. But it's been on my 'to read' list for three years and I finally got to it. The author's other story, Apotheosis, is a better adventure.

    Quote from SSky

New characters? Nothing really. New happenings? Well, if you don't care about spoilers, Discord's a "good" guy, Twilight's an alicorn, there's a box of boxyness, and I haven't been keeping up with fanfics. Also there's a IDW comic series that people tell me is fantastic. Season 4 is 75% awesome mixed with 25% still not too bad. Oh, and canon humanized ponies in the best movie I have ever seen. that pretty much sums it up.

Go read Fallout Equestria. Right now. Please.

I never cared for it but finally broke down and read it last year. Amazing. Best fanfic there is. Better than anything I've ever read. Do yourself the honor of experiencing an incredible adventure of hope, friendship, and sacrifice.

While the shaders are beautiful, the lack of anti-aliasing really brings down the overall image quality. They look pretty up until you notice the jagged edges stabbing your eyes, especially when moving.
