Yesterday I bought an entry level gaming computer. It has like 16GB RAM, good graphics card, etc... Runs Minecraft super smoothly. The only problem is, when I change big texture packs (256x256) or change the language of the game, it crashes and says it ran out of memory.
How can I allocate more memory? And how can I allocate more memory to it when playing with optifine as well?
I have tried downloading the newest launcher and it automatically selects Minecraft's files on my computer was the destination folder which is in like my C drive, but when I click next it informs me that it must be on a local disk... And I have no idea what this means or where to install it to.
Can someone please explain for me how to install the new launcher? Thanks!
Hi, almost all player at Minetology(my Server) don't speak english, it might be difficult to communicate. I try very best at english. Iam happy if everybody understand my threads.
But if anybody likes to take a look, very happy
Haha kein Problem, ich lerne seit 4 Jahre Deutsch und 2 Monaten Niederländisch.
Hi. Yesterday i updated my server to spigot 1.8 build 1958. I use dynmap 2.1 alpha 1 . but if someone move on the already explored map it looks like this: MyLivemap
it seems that dynmap isn't able to create correct surface.
Can i fix that, or do i have to wait für the next update. sometimes my browser send a message like web files has to be on version 2.1 or something like that. if i press f5, it loads perfect.
help please.
edit:
my presumption is: the changes of the designation of the blocks. in terms of the irem ID's. these were not abolished?
Is your server primarily German-speaking? I'd like to join.
The server has been very active recently, always 3-7 people on at a time, which has been very nice! If you're interested in joining, get on when you see some other people on and we can help you get set up!
Also we're working on an end farm currently, which will make it easy to get good on the server. You will be able to get 30xp is less than one minute by punching endermen!
There's plugins you can get for particle effects, like hearts and stuff. You can offer pets, nicknames, joining when the server's full. I'd suggest just jumping around the larger servers and seeing what they've got in store for their donors.
Yeah true. But people can easily buy pets and stuff... And I already have rank titles on my server. I'd give out a special rank (no special perms) for donors I guess.
I run a small server and have been paying out of pocket and not taking donations for over a year, but at $15 per week I find it annoying.
I have 3 donation options, $5 $10 and $25, all of which currently have no donor perks because I just don't know what to get. Is there something that everyone loves as a donor perk? Anything people really enjoy having, that is purely cosmetic and doesn't change the game? I'm kinda lost, other than particle effects, but that's kind of a lame perk.
My goal isn't to make money, my goal is to fund my server. I pay $15 out of pocket every week, which is okay, but I'd really rather not. It might force me to cut my RAM back or eventually close the server -- I use it for playing with online friends, many of them which I've made through Minecraft. It's small and I've actually never asked for donations before, but I've had a few people ask if they could donate and what the perks were, so I set up a donation system... I just need to find some perks that people won't think are totally lame.
Thanks in adance!
PS: For the record, I think donating for perks is stupid. I donate to things that I find helpful or that I'm thankful for -- not just to get particle effects. But I guess donor "perks" are a good way to say "thank-you" for supporting the server. Just don't know what to do.
Latest Development Builds: (use at your own risk!)
Bukkit/Spigot v1.6.4-v1.8.0: Dynmap v2.1-alpha-1: [Direct]
Minecraft v1.8.0 with Forge v11.14.0: Dynmap v2.1-alpha-1: [Direct]
These aren't released - just available. I'm hoping to drop an alpha release in the next day or so, at least for Spigot 1.8 and for Forge 1.8
I do have one issue that wasn't fixed in this version. Whenever I do /dynmap fullrender it renders 100 chunks and stops and says it can't find any chunks. It's on a custom map, but more than 100 chunks from spawn have been explored. It's also very spotty with black chunks on the map that don't go away unless you stand in the area for like 10 minutes -- you can't just fly through it.
We're still getting things sorted out with Spigot 1.8, but most plugins are working and the game is playable. Much more fun than vanilla 1.8 was! I'm online right now so I can promote you to member if you're interesting in joining our friendly fun community!
SERVER IS NOW PUBLIC AGAIN, RUNNING SPIGOT 1.8...ANYONE CAN JOIN!
You'll now need to be promoted to member by an online moderator/admin in order to keep our community safe. When it was public to everyone, we had lots of hackers and extremely rude individuals. If you want to play with a small community that never changes, log on and get promoted today! It's not hard, we'll just ask you a couple questions to gauge your personality.
TBH the only logical thing they could do about this is to do what YouTube did... Let you change your name as it appears to everyone as you wish, but regardless, your channel link will use the username you signed up with.
So if I wanted to change my name, I would show up as MuffinMan5000 to everyone else, while my Mojang username would still be Nepenthesis, the name with which I would log into Minecraft and be whitelisted/opped with.

Yeah my server doesn't have any um... beta testing stuff. I usually just put things on the server and if they don't work then bleh. XD

Oh hey that's genius... Is there some sort of plugin for that? If not I know a bukkit programmer that could probably help me.
