It'd be extremely difficult/unlikely, although at this point I can't think of much other than maybe a few newbies suddenly getting curious and deciding to sift through ten pages and finding RPs at the end of it to, suddenly out of nowhere, write an application for. Maybe the section was publicised slightly in some small part of the forums somewhere?

EDIT: Argh, ninja'd. I believe searching up things for RPs in the forums *is* possible, but... it's just strange that it could occur at such a rate of which we're currently experiencing(necroposting everywhere).

It is indeed quite peculiar, the necroposting didn't seem to happen as often back in the day. Every time I manage to find time to look around this place I seem to find at least one long dead RP brought back alive for just one post before returning back to its slumber. Quite strange indeed.

It certainly could be that for some unknown reason/coincidence, newbies have either been searching up certain specific RPs on the Minecraft Forums recently, although any ways we can really prevent any sort of backlash/bad effects from this(such as reducing visibility for other RPs on the front page) are honestly quite limited in my opinion.

posted a message on The Academy: Beginnings [Started] [Not Accepting]

((Due to my computer deciding to go on the fritz almost directly after I posted that message, I had a bit of a delay. Sorry for this. Either ways, my last post has been edited slightly to allow for the call to attract Claire's attention.))

Almost instantly however, her phone began to vibrate, a blinking circular icon on the top right of the screen which showed what looked to be an image of a phone. Tapping on it expanded it slightly, to reveal a few words which simply read: 'Prime Asset 3'.

Claire was now suffering slightly from a bit of confusion, realising that she was having a hard time remembering who the person that was calling her went by. She pondered over this for quite a few seconds, before managing to recall that the person's name was Kate, and that she was most likely now calling to ask for further orders, as per her routine a few times a week. This once again highlighted how strange the situation was. She never had problems with her speed of thinking or remembering anything. A feeling of slight anxiousness was present in her at the moment, which was also abnormal as she almost never got fumbled up with her work, the thing she had been working at efficiently for more than five years.

Noticing that this current situation was important, and that she could use this as an advantage to get away from people due to her current state of confusion, she then stood up and grabbed her items, looking back at Alana and talking once again.

"Ah, I'm afraid I have to take this call. I'll talk to you later.", she said in a calm and friendly tone before then walking off. As Claire aimed to find an elevator, most preferably an empty one, as she wasn't particularly in a mood to talk with others right now, she passed by Aquila, who was still talking about creating a railgun, which the Urbaner in this state couldn't be bothered with and ignored, simply pushing that concern to the back of her head to think about later. Upon entering an elevator alone and pressing a button for it to take her to her floor, she answered the call, quickly remembering message she needed to deliver, before speaking into the device.

"Station yourself as safe house H31. Further instructions will be located there.", she had said as she then hung the phone up and once again sighed silently to herself. She wasn't about to show signs of uneasiness to one of her main, well, you might call them workers but she addressed them coldly as assets. On the other end of the line, one would've heard each word slightly differently, as if a different person had spoken out each word. Whenever talking on a phone, there was a digital filter which would quickly pick up the words Claire was saying, before finding from its library of words to use. As such, no one ever heard her real voice through digital means, only a set of words in different tones spoken by different people. It got the point across, and allowed her to easily remain anonymous.

Strangely enough, she noted that her powers seemed to have returned upon getting far away enough from the girl dressed in a gas mask. It honestly could've been anyone or anything that caused her sudden lost of abilities as an Urbaner, but after remembering the scene down there in the lobby, the only person significant enough to really catch her attention was her. Recalling everything that had happened, probably the only unique change in her environment that caused the situation before, was most likely Claire getting close enough to that girl. She was slightly suspicious at most, but remembered to follow up on this later on. Once she was in on her floor, she entered her room and placed down her luggage. The room was particularly average in her opinion, definitely not what one would have expected from the exterior looks of the hotel. But then again, she lived in an abandoned metro. She could pretty much make do with anything.

Claire enjoyed the feeling of acquiring her abilities once again. It felt natural, and losing something natural wasn't exactly the most pleasant thing to experience. She didn't bother unpacking most of her items, simply placing them close to a table as she sat down next to it and booted up her laptop, deciding to use her spare time to continue writing up more plans and conducting secret operations. Unlike others, she didn't exactly need to sleep as often, if not at all in all honesty. Complete control of her brain gave her this opportunity. And now that she thought of it as she typed endlessly onto her laptop, she absolutely loathed the necessity of sleep as a normal human behaviour. Wasting seven to eight hours everyday simply doing nothing was anything but productive. Luckily, as this brought a slight smile to Claire's face, she wasn't normal. Her fingers did a quick swipe on her phones to activate her wireless headphones, and with that, Claire very quickly got into a calm state of mind.

It was midnight and all the lights in her room were switched off, except for a certain laptop. The screen of her computer had been split into four parts, one completely black with white lines being written on it continuously, almost as if done by a machine. Another was split into further parts, showing what appeared to be security feeds of the surrounding area. The last two displayed different websites, as the user scanned through them quickly and switched to the other, only to very swiftly repeat the process. Wearing her hoodie on with her slightly wrapped bandana wrapped around her face, Claire appeared to be extremely occupied. But to her, everything was just perfect. One might've defined it as being 'in the zone', but she would've even described it as a state of euphoria in all honesty. It was just her and the digital world, the only thing that was capable of satisfying her mind's thirst for knowledge.

It was then when the Urbaner noticed something out of the corner of her eye. On the set of security feeds, she noticed what looked like a building shaking, being notably pushed by a woman and a huge hulk of a monster. It wasn't long before it collapsed onto the road. From her view, it didn't appear to hurt anyone, due to how late it was, it was likely not many people were going down the streets. Unlike others which might've immediately jumped up or examined the windows, she kept her eyes glued to the screen. She watched everything from here. She expanded the set of security feeds, to completely overlap and take over the other three segments. There were now dozens upon dozens of boxes providing views from around the nearby area. With her ability along with surveillance cameras, she was capable of watching and examining everything around her with a million eyes.

Deciding not to jump to conclusions so quickly, she calmly watched everyone from a safe angle for now. It ensured safety, and would make sure she made a right decision to combat the current situation after assessing all the variables. Claire, possibly being the only person capable of being so calm in this kind of situation, ignored all the noise outside coming from people exiting their rooms and rushing out. She simply paid attention to the screens and the music blaring out from her headphones. As Claire did this, she brought out possibly the fifth bar of chocolate she had eaten since she entered her room, tearing open the wrappers and quietly eating in a very relaxed manner.

Shotgun, could you please post as to Joey opening the back door and exiting the bank? The basics like cars parked next to the streets, things like that should be described. After that, I will move the plot on.))

((Joey has yet to open the door yet, so just edit it and say you're ready or something.))

Sam now gave of the appearance of a very serious person, as she looked back slightly to see the chaos that was unfolding behind them. It only took a quick glance, but it was enough to fully describe the gunfight that was going on. The guards were currently losing the battle against the more prepared, trained, and better armed mercenaries. The men dressed in suits outside seemed to fire very accurately, and from that quick examination, it was almost as if none of them were even hurt. She could tell that they were much more adapted and experienced in these sort of situations. The amount of dying security personnel helped to support that conclusion.

Sounds of bullets being continuously blasted out of firearms rang throughout the bank, along with the blaring alarms of course. She watched as what looked like a young teenager seemed to attempt to find a place to hide and cower behind. 'The shouting of fear makes it clear that he shouldn't be here...' "Leaving the kid behind will kill him. Keep him close to the team for now.", the message being given to everyone in the team except for Brett. Sam sighed slightly, and noticed that it was a bit strange that Nerve predicted exactly when that thought had ran through her head and how to respond to it, before holding her gun up with her right hand, already attached to a silencer, prepared to fire at any sort of enemies that might come their way. She would use her left hand at this moment to hold another gun to put it to use, but it was currently occupied with a briefcase. 'What is in this thing anyways...'.

The thought didn't go far, before she got back to the situation at hand. Noticing the man with the briefcase from before, now prepared with his own firearms as well. As the group approached the door, he spoke very quickly to them, asking them to get ready.

"As ready as I'll ever be.", she said in a somewhat surprisingly calm but loud tone to be heard over the gunfire. To people like Brett, it would've come off as strange that she didn't appear frightened or even afraid at all. One might even describe her as stoic, but she seemed to keep a bit of a smile when she had responded to Joey.

Once all of the group had entered the room, the employee's facial expression changed to one of dead seriousness. He handed out two of the three guns to Kaj and Quinn, and while despite not knowing any of the people's names, knew exactly who to provide them to. Sam watched very quietly with her right hand still in her jacket's pocket, holding onto the pistol and ready to bring it out at any moment. 'Looks like this Nerve knows exactly who needs some firearms.', she pondered this fact to herself for a few times, as the staff member had only prepared three guns, which seemed to indicate that the anonymous messenger knew exactly who needed weapons. And she wasn't part of that list.

The air was surprisingly very tense, and yet deafeningly silent. The somewhat tall and brown haired man seemed to look at the person in confusion, asking questions as to what is going on and why Uzi SMGs are being given out. And it was almost as if by instinct, but the employee seemed to know how to answer every question the group members would provide. He brought his attention to another of the safety deposit boxes, and as he quickly unlocked it, he replied.

"Everything will be explained through the earpieces." Upon hearing this, Sam brought her attention to the box now left on the table. There was only one firearm left in it, presumably for another person who hasn't arrived yet, and five wireless transmitters one would place in their ears. She cautiously took one up, bringing it up close to examine it quietly for a while, before putting it on. The woman gave off the appearance of a very serious person currently, and all expressions of friendliness seemed to have all faded away. She knew better than to ask questions as of now. The employee who had given them access to these items attempted to remain calm, but she could read him. He was afraid. Something was about to happen, and it will be beneficial if one simply took the man's advice as of now. Upon placing it inside one's ear, the earpiece would immediately read out a message right on time.

"Collect the box and exit through the back door. They are coming.", each word was read out by a different person in different tones with different genders. 'Looks like the person who brought us here wishes to remain unknown...', she said as she once again looked at the employee to see him bringing out a black briefcase, placing it on the table before doing one single gesture to them and leaving them alone. Once everyone had armed themselves with the guns and earpieces, Sam decided to quickly get things going.

"Well, we heard Nerve. Let's head out of here.", she said as she quickly concluded that these people were most likely in on the anonymous person as well, before quickly grabbing the briefcase by the handle and getting ready to leave, only to be interrupted by what seemed to be gunfire outside the bank. Noticing this, she swiftly attached the silencer to her now revealed pistol, nodding her head at the direction of the back door to the group.

A black SUV had drifted very abruptly and parked itself right in front of the Crowford Bank, along with four other motorcycles which followed behind it. The leader of the team, which sat in the front seat of the vehicle, pressed his finger onto a device fitted into his ear, before quickly commanding his team with some new information.

"Storm has confirmed that five Primary Threats are inside. Shoot to kill.", upon saying this, the other nine men brought their weapons out. As the guards in the building simply watched somewhat confoundedly, the four men grabbed pistols out of their pockets, and with still their motorcycle helmets on, began to fire at the guards through the glass doors and windows. The security were caught off guard, some of them even getting hit, before they quickly recovered and hit behind some pieces of furniture, taking their own guns out and beginning a gun fight in the middle of the district. Men, women, and children in the area immediately left the area, some even screaming in fear as they escaped. The team didn't seem fazed by this at all.

The remaining six men in the vehicle, excluding the driver, opened up the windows and doors of the car, holding what appeared to be assault rifles and firing them at the guards inside the building. Staff members inside immediately retreated to the higher floors, hoping to find some sort of safety there. Little did they know that they weren't here for money; they were here for the new recruits.

In regards to how I think this always inevitable effect can be stopped(in terms of how I think the combination of the two problems I mentioned can be solved), more roleplays might need to present summaries of recent events in the OP so newcomers don't have to read through ten pages of IC posts to find out the current situation. As for the decay effect, I currently have no idea how to solve it. I have seen one roleplayer in an RP of eight cause the thing to simply die off/go to sleep for an indefinite period of time due to simply being absent for a few days, and as such I believe this is quite the conundrum indeed...
