    I have HD5770 and I5 760 2.80 GHz but i got only 10-21 FPS!
What`s wrong? On wiki it says: HD5770-No probelm works fine on 40-50 FPS?

I thinks cpu bottle neck. Maybe try turn off any unnecessary post processing in the final.fsh. You can find it in your minecraft.jar/shaders folder, open the jar with winrar or similar software. You can also try tweak the shadows settings in composite.fsh in the same folder. Open the fsh files with wordpad

LOL. I'm using a GTX480 1.5GB - 2 if I could SLI on java but yeah. So I should have some pretty crisp shadows there....

You can edit shadow resolution and view distance in composite.fsh. Personally I like high view distance. Got it on 2000 resolution and 140 view distance, almost covers the entire render distance :biggrin.gif: But my 470 can only barely handle it without mouse latency crap. Soon, when I get the 580 up and running, MWAHAHAHA, no stupid sunlight in ma caves anymore :biggrin.gif:

I experimented some. Setting blur to some low number like 0.2 will give you much more crispy shadows, but also more blocky... Setting resolution to 8192 and view distance to 60 gave some really neat results, but my card can't handle that, 30 fps and LOUD fan sounds from tower, I think I'll stick to 4096 ress and 100 view distance. I tried 200 view distance, omg it looks awesome with the whole landscape shadowed :biggrin.gif: But resolution takes a big hit..

    Redpower 2 doesn't like the shadows :sad.gif:
Something is wrong with rubber tree leaves. With "fancy trees" option on it crashes the game... Can you fix this on your end somehow? Eloraam is too busy to even notice my comments :sad.gif:

I'm running an i7-2600 with 10 gigs of RAM and an Nvidia GT 550 Ti with 1GB dedicated and my Minecraft lags like hell...

    Quote from LegateLanius

Yeh I should be able to run this mod no problem as well, but I think it's just Minecraft's poor optimization that makes it lag like ****.

It's the shaders. Download the newest ones v1.1.02. They run better, and that even with double resolution on shadows! Try setting shadows to the lower quality ones for even better performance, there isn't much difference between the high and low, it is arguable what looks best lol. Also turning off most of the unnecessary post processing (besides crossprocessing and brightnessmulti) can give you some more fps and more responsive mouse, setting minecraft to fullscreen (f11) also improves mouse responsiveness. All this can be done in the composite.fsh and final.fsh files, open them with wordpad.

I can't get godrays to work!!! I have turned off almost all the other post processing for max performance. (glare or bloom causes my fps to drop from 60-90 to 35-60, it's harder on my system than the freakin shadows, bug? :S) My system is i7 950, gtx 470, Vista. Don't tell me it doesn't support godrays. Are there any other post processing needed for the rays to work?

Blakmagik addresses this on Page 290. Short of it is... make sure there are no pipes on the same level or below your airship controller block.

I know, I read that. That's why I'm wondering if the next update will support buildcraft pipes :tongue.gif:

As it is now I can only build tankers, which is cool, but there is always a chance of crashing and losing the entire craft if I get sloppy with removing all pipes attached to the craft :S

Will the next version support buildcraft pipes? And when do you think it will be released? I know it is hard/impossible to give an exact date, but all I want to know is if it's coming soon, can't wait lol! I love this mod! The first mod to let you build your own vehicles out of blocks, and it fits so well with buildcraft giving the vehicles more purposes than just a means of getting around faster!

Anyone else having performance issues? I got a killer pc with i7, and I only get 20-40 fps. Its in forest areas it will get as low as 20, this is unacceptable. Using sdk's gun mod with this isn't much fun when it's hard to aim because of the lag.

Ummm, did you even turn on fancy? lol

That is the point of the cloud mod, it changes the renderer to use 2d clouds with fancy graphics...... so you can use and HD texture without the bugs. If not you're going to get those bugs, I could try to change the 3d cloud renderer to render the HD 3d clouds but that would increase the on screen geometry by a lot, and hurt performance, so this is why I came up with this fix.

And everyone should be using a 64 bit os and a 64bit java if you have 4 gigs of ram there is no reason not to, Like I said before it will and should be standard by the end of the year, a 32bit os simply doesn't cut it for a 4 gig system, I imagine there are a lot of you out there with 4 gigs of memory and a 1gig graphics card, and in reality your computer is only addressing 3 gigs of that ram with a 32bit os because it counts both types of memory in that limit.

Also are the chunks not appearing in Single player or multiplayer, please respond, I'd like to know.

Oh, well, I feel kinda stupid now. I see that I forgot to install the cloud textures! That might be the issue. Guess I was just too excited about trying the mod out lol. Ok, so I tested the mod now with textures, only with +50% render distance though, and it seems to work fine. I'll use this from now on, since the double view distance eats all my ram. I got 6gb of ram and it chews through it all like it was nothing, I guess my vista is being an ass about that too, since javaw process only shows as using 2gb of ram, not 4gb as it would have to considering how much ram my computer uses when idle.
Anyways, when using double view distance with cloud mod (without the textures) the rendering of new chunks stop after a while. (I have not tested this in multiplayer yet) It's similar to the old render bug in minecraft that notch half fixed, only that all new chunks that load or are generated doesn't render (they are there, just no textures so you can't really see the chunks at all). What more, notches half ass fix was forcing the chunks to render as you got close, this works very well in vanilla minecraft, with this bug however I can walk for minutes on top of unrendered chunks and none of them will be forced to reload their textures or whatever. But I guess this isn't that huge an issue if it's because I forgot to install those cloud textures, haven't tried double view distance with clouds though, there might be an issue with Java 7 since it's in beta still and wont be released before July.

What java are you running? Run minecraft and open your task manager, check processes, if javaw has *32 behind it then you are running java 32bit. This might happen if you install java while on a 32bit browser, manually download 64bit and see if that fixes your crashes (it did for me). http://filehippo.com/download_jre_64/

Thank you for this. Really helped improve my performance.

Yeah, it does that too xD. I ran minecraft with 32bit for months, only able to play with normal render distance. Was quite amazed when I found this fix, especially since I was really annoyed with the performance and crashes even tho I had a gaming computer. I advice everyone with a 64bit system to check that they have the right java version!

Glad I could be of help!

After struggling with instant crashes (starting a map = crash) I figured out the mod was actually for 1.4_1, I had installed java 7 64bit before figuring that out so this might have helped with any other crashes I might have had that I see other people complaining about. So, it runs fine on a i7 3 ghz, I've overclocked it to 3.2ghz (to run crysis 2 smoother) but it barely uses over half a core when generating new chunks so you'll run this mod fine if you have a i7 3ghz and a gtx 470, could probably even handle a little more view distance.

There is one bug I find annoying tho, the rendering of chunks will frequently stop (chunks are there, but are not rendered). When this bug occurs, all new loaded or generated chunks will not be rendered, so I have to hit F a couple of times for them to render as normal. (I'm not sure if this have anything to do with java 7, I'll update this post if I find the bug occurring without this mod...) This is slightly annoying, the mod would be perfect without that though. Besides that it doesn't support optimine, but that should be ok if you got a gaming computer.

edit: Wait, I realize I used the version with the cloud mod on fancy, that might have been the problem. Tried without that mod now, and it seems to work better. Only ran around for a few minutes tho. The cloud mod looks really cool, any chance you could make it compatible with fancy graphics? I like seeing through leaves...
