I tried regenerating mine once. I deleted the files pertaining to the Nether in my .minecraft folder (backed them up first just incase). All it did was reset the Nether, giving me the same layout, but replacing all of the blocks that I had mined.
Well, I died while building my first mob trap. It used water currents to push mobs into lava. Not thinking about the order in which I should place the lava and water for safety reasons, I place the water first, then place the lava..with no way to get back out of the pit. Tried placing a block under me, but ended up slipping into that lava anyways.
I learned my lesson, or so I thought. While building my "Pyramid of Light", I decided a surrounding water current/lava pit trap would work nicely. All of the items would run under the pyramid to be collected. After correctly placing the lava and water, I climbed back out. In my attempt to fix the spot I climbed out at, I fell into the current, which pushed me into the lava, killing myself yet again, on the same type of trap.
Guys, you're missing the real problem here. The war has already started. Read this, it's from the Minepedia:
"On the 6th of December 2010, Notch stated on his twitter that eggs would be throwable and that when they hit something they have a 1/8 chance of spawning a chicken."
See that? They're going to start spreading even faster. All of those eggs that were laid, destroy them!
I don't think Notch would give into this plan so easily...do you think that...maybe...he's being held against his will?

They aren't really sad. They try to lull you into a false sense of pity, and the moment you let your guard down...ssSSSS
