Play on a server without shops or kits. Factions once had nice builds but nowadays since obsidian and TNT is distributed for free or for little work by shops, raiding has become way too easy. Factions today sucks with all the kits and hackers. Too many owners and players have bad taste. Even then you won't get as good factions experience as there was in the past, because players have in large part lost their sensitivity and creativity. At this point it's not really Minecraft Factions, Factions servers are like a completely different game, like a poorer version of Clash of Clans with purple obsidian boxes coated in water everywhere.

Honestly if you can't find a good server then just play single player or play with your friends, or stop playing minecraft for a while and do something else with your time.

We've always had TNT turned off on our maps & no donor kits... because bleh. idk, I guess word of mouth doesn't go as far as flashy advertisements and BUY YOUR VICTORY NOW. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Funny you should mention emeralds. We based our economy on emeralds for some time. You could sell them or use them for portals/cannons, but not buy them. So with a limited map, you had a finite supply. But it kept the economy money equal only to the amount of emeralds found.

Emeralds don't generate naturally in our PvP map. Not the right biomes (small map, connected to a mining world. Well, the map we're working on atm at least. Not the live one.). So players can sell their goods (a lot of goods) for emeralds. Slow start, inefficient... unless you mine a lot. Anything powerful is expensive. Most things sold are cosmetic.

    Still balancing numbers here, personally.

Edit: I feel like you and I would get along. lol.

For economy, I typically delete all villagers on the map & just use emeralds. Set up a sell shop for them to sell their goods for emeralds. I typically only allow purchase of things that are impossible to obtain (as I'm not going to link ANOTHER end & nether to a separate map).

Simple, works. Sure, players can cure zombie villagers for easier emeralds... but you already need to have traded through to get quite a few emeralds in the first place.

    I dunno, I like it.

Why do you want to play on our server?: Admining for a bunch of kiddos gets a bit tiring. I like my age group, and usually above honestly.

Whereabouts in the world?: East Coast

How active will you be?: Occasional. I play a number of games.

Favorite thing to do in Minecraft: Beat the crap outta things. New combat rocks.

How long have you played Minecraft?: Feb. 2010

What other stuff do you like to play?: MMORPGs, straight-up RPGs, Tabletop Simulator, occasional MOBA...

In a couple sentences, tell us about yourself: I'm a crazy dragon lady. Can be lewd as hell. Can take a harsh joke. Do have thick skin. Do have mic. Hack n' slash is my preferred cup of tea (I seriously suck at building, at least I think so..)

    Discord ID? ("Name"#0000): NazzyDragon#8350

Curious if you guys will ever do spigot/plugins. Lots of good stuff in that area honestly (I DO admin a server, and I have since mid-late 2010 as well.)

what I detest is the pay to play atmosphere where donators end up with weapons so powerful no one playing legitimately can compete. Most servers cater to donators just to stay afloat, others do it to make profit. Unfortunately, like with most games, when you give players exactly what they want you end up ruining the game itself.

Hate to toot toot & sound like I'm advertising, but I'm vehemently against P2W in PvP for MC... though our factions map is in the process of a complete revamp, so it's non-existent atm.

I've ALWAYS hated this probably just as much as you. Kinda been my mission to say no to it.

As for your level of defense, that's meta as all get-out ಠ_ಠ

    (QC!)

    (1.11.2)

Welcome to the thread for Pigcraft QC! A quaint little server that's been hosted on the edges of the internet since 2010. We've been through a lot as a server, and have learned a lot about what's fun in the process! And yes, some of our members can totally speak French. I'm just terrible at it... admittedly. Don't be afraid to hop on and say hi, even if a lot of us are speaking English. We <3 QC!

Our survival map has changed and started anew several times over the years. We're on #3, and our spawn is looking better than ever! Cute, quaint, charming.. just like the faces on this server. Our regulars won't flinch to help you out with questions you have. They're great, and I mean it. Our survival map features all of our plugins, like mcMMO, our lottery system, DiscoSheep (wool parties are great!), and many more. Players can set up custom shops, and even play MobArenas with friends on our player-designed arena!

Spoiler: It's freakin' cool. There's another as well, but I'll just show you this one for now!

We have a unique, low-maintenance way for players to protect their own buildings. We use the GriefPrevention plugin that allows players to claim their own land with the more time they spend online. No more bothering staff to get a claim, so your stuff stays safe, even if we aren't online!
You can find our little thread on GriefPrevention in the getting started section of our forums here. We use a wooden shovel as the marker tool.
Did I mention we have Skyblock?

    Creative
Our creative world is mostly automated, and anyone can get in on the fun! We use the PlotSquared plugin to help players get started with their own plot! Even guests can get their own (temporary) plot to build on, so there's no need to wait for a membership to build & have fun! You can only build and edit your own plot unless you are invited to another player's plot, so there's 0 stress about your builds being griefed! Players make some really awesome stuff, and you can request more than 1 plot if you do end up running out of room (this is handled by staff, not the plugin itself). Some of our members have several plots with fantastic builds! Here's a few:

There's a ton more, but this post is already long enough!

    Factions PvP
This section is... unfortunately a bit of a work-in-progress. We're working on getting a solid, permanent PvP map down here in the next 2-4 weeks. For now, it's a temporary map. It's a bit.. directionless, but the new map will be worth it, so stay tuned! Pigcraft QC has always been unique with its PvP maps in that we tolerate ZERO pay-to-win mechanics. Donor perks? They do NOT carry over to our PvP map; it's all even and fair (the best kind). There are NO packages you can purchase with real $ of any sort, and this is unfortunately lacking in the Minecraft PvP world. I suppose making a quick buck off of people is more important than a fun, long-lasting & balanced PvP experience, but alas. We here do not believe in pay-to-win whatsoever. There will NEVER be any pay to win on this server (we have the awesome luxury of being hosted for FREE, so don't worry about that!), and that ensures a fun experience.

mcMMO will be disabled on our upcoming PvP map to decrease the gap between new joiner and veteran player. We'll be keeping it on our survival world, but it's gotta go here. We are also currently in the process of rebalancing our Factions configuration to ensure a balanced playing field when our new map finally arrives. Expect a fun map made by an actual PvP player, for actual PvP players. No over-the-top crazy plugins, and straight-to-the-point, fun gameplay.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading our post. Vote for us if you like us!

Not to mention, how often are you usually putting up paintings? Maybe a couple at a time very rarely? The flow of gameplay would be broken more often by many other things before having to place a painting.

The flow of gameplay is broken to me when I have to smash 30 paintings to get the one I want. LOL.

I also agree that a GUI would be much better. Wouldn't really break any flow in my book. Especially since it would likely be incredibly small (there's not a HUGE number of paintings) and a lot faster to pick said painting.

posted a message on How much FPS will I get with this specs?

    Windows:
Hit your start button, type in "dxdiag".

    Run it.

    System tab:

Go down to "Processor" in the system information. Just type out the whole line for us.

Go down to "Memory" in the system information. How many MB of ram is it?

Go over to the Display tab:

    Give us the "Approx.Total Memory".

That's all the information we should need. Given the base hardware though, you'd probably run well over 100 FPS.

The problem is that depending on the configuration of the server, anyone can become your enemy and then raid your faction.

Find a server with a rockin' factions config that doesn't suck! :P

Are you kidding? The combat update had me back here in a jiffy. I love it.

It's natural for an update time on servers, resource packs, mods, etc. If you play with those, you deal with it. Perhaps bigger, less frequent updates, sure... buuuut, I'm loving the content the updates have lately.
