And naturally slimes should have a chance of leaving slime trails on floors where they walk (it would only make sense, after all).

I like this. It makes sense. Though only the largest kind of slime could do this, and they would need at least 4 slime puddles in a square to spawn, this way we don't get huge numbers of them in exponential amounts.

I think it's quite obvious why he said to use gold: Gold has always been kinda useless, and one thing that would make it more useful would be to make it give a higher chance of returning block-based drops.

Or alternatively, caves could be generated with mossy cobblestone on their floors and walls in some sections.

    ...

Right, because that solves the "Not enough slime" problem.

A while back, Notch messed around with making torches and fire produce smoke blocks, requiring the use of chimneys.

This didn't work for the same reason that finite water is difficult.

I like the idea of having different music based on your environment, but I love C418's music so much, so I think he should be used as the artist for this project. After all, he did the current damn music :tongue.gif:

posted a message on Slimy Caves
As it stands, slimes are boring. They're easy to fight, and they have a spawn pattern that doesn't make them stand out much.

My suggestion is that we have caves sometimes have areas covered in slime, much like snow covers snow biomes. You can get slime balls from the slime that covers the floor, and slimes only spawn in areas covered by slime, similarly to a dungeon mob spawner.

This would make it easier to get more slime for sticky pistons, as well as make acquiring slime a more targeted, but difficult task, so you aren't just randomly wandering around.

posted a message on different way to get slimeballs
I think slimes should spawn in slime-floored caves. You'd find layers of slime on the floors of some caves, kinda like snow, and slimes would spawn there until you got rid of all the slime on the floor.

    Water would wash it away.

posted a message on Gay and Lesbian character creation....
How does this even make sense? STRAIGHT marriage isn't even in the game.

So tell me, lets say that when making a map you have the option to make your character male or female, gay or straight.

And you make it a gay male.

HOW THE HELL WOULD THIS EFFECT THE GAME?

Would your character go "Oh, no, stop hitting me you big brute" with a stereotypical gay male voice every time it got hit?

    This is ****ing stupid.

posted a message on freezer! Freeze meat to not get moldy!
This was actually suggested as far back as Indev, and it still suffers from the same problems:

    A) keeping track of how long the porkchop has until it goes bad will add to the data it has to store.

:cool.gif: Agriculture is already more productive than hunting pigs, this would make that even more true. Now there would be absolutely no reason to keep pork around.

    C) It adds another layer of complication to the game's survival aspect. While I don't mind this and it might make the game a bit more survivaly, this is just TOO much for a lot of the members.
