Jan 28, 2011Come on guys, he made a challenge(I never cared for paulsoaresjr's challenge either :/), and while I will admit it does seem pretty crappy, you all dont have to be complete and utter dicks about it.Posted in: Survival Mode
Im pretty sure he did not copy it, he may have gotten a inspiration from it. And by the looks of his post count, he is most likely somewhat new here. So stop being assholes, and be nice children.

Nice way to troll, dumbass!

All your components seem good, the Gigabyte UltraCool boards really do make a difference in the temperature, and lengthen life of your other components. However, I would get a Antec PSU instead, ive had kinda a bad experience with thermaltake....
Dec 9, 2010Ahh, good ole AGP cards, heh.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
If you just wanna run simple games like minecraft, CSS, HL2, ect. Then an ATI 4600 will be fine, but if you want to run games more like L4D2, Black Ops, MW2, Crysis, ect. Then you would be better off buying a new motherboard, you can get a single PCI Express LGA775 DDR2 Motherboard for about 90 bucks, and can get a 800 Whatt PSU for about 80 - 100 dollars off of newegg.
Just make sure that anything you aren't replacing is still going to be compatible with what you are replacing.
Dec 9, 2010I have like an 8 year old gaming machine with an ATI 9800, 1 gig of RAM, 100 gig HDD, Intel P4 3.2GHz. Runs minecraft at 30 - 40 FPS with no fog. Hell, it runs gmod, HL2, CSS, and TF2 just fine as well.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Dec 9, 2010I would never buy from sony simply on the fact that they produced a movie about raping little girls. Dont believe me? Google it, its there.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Anyways, Asus makes GREAT laptops for an affordable price, since she does photoshop work, you would probably want to get something with a half way decent GPU, and a Quad core CPU of some sort(preferably a Core I7).
My mom does similar work in adobe lightroom, her laptop gets the job done with an ATI 4000 GPU, 4 gigs of RAM, and a core I7.
Dec 9, 2010My dad had one of those alienware m15x's, he got it new with a core I7, GTX260, and 8Gigs of ram, costs 4k. Owned it for 6 months, then sold it, then went to best buy and bought a Asus with very similar specs for 1k.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
My point is, that there is nothing truly special about alienwares other than the bragging rights that come with them.
Now, the best most cost efficient way to go is to build yourself a desktop. I managed to build myself a machine with a GTX 260, 8 Gigs of DDR2 800MHz RAM, and a Intel Core 2 Quad CPU for about 1k, and this was when the GTX 260 cards were BRAND new, nowdays you could probably build a machine with that specs for around 700 - 800 dollars.
Now then, im not going to tell you the exact stuff to buy, but I will give you some brand names that I have used for a while, and seem to be very reliable:
Gigbyte, their motherboards are some of the best, I have had my UltraCool 3 board for about 3 years now, its peak temperature when benchmarking on crysis was 45C, and the backup BIOS has come in handy a time or two.
Evga, makes long lasting products that have had a good name in the business since day one, I had my SLI 8800 GTs forever before I replaced them, and they still work to this day, I keep them as backups. However, they can be a little overpriced.
Intel, their CPU's are excellent for overclocking, I can have my 2.5GHz intel core 2 quad CPU running stable at 3.0GHz, peak temperature was 46 - 47C when benchmarking crysis.
BFG, they too make great GPU's, and have a incredibly helpful customer service support line, no indian operators, all were educated techs that spoke clear english and helped me fix my problems. Peak temperature was 44C when benchmarking crysis.
Western Digital, they make very nice hard drives, my 500 GB WD 7200 RPM drive has lasted me years, whereas seagate drives have failed me in a little over a year.
Antec, they make excellent cases, that a very well ventilated, and keep all of your components cool. Their PSU's are very good as well, I use a 800 Watt Antec PSU to power my machine, has not failed on me to this day, owned it for probably 5 years.
All of these temperatures were taken with a temperature reader, and it ran crysis at around 30 - 40 FPS with maximum settings(High quality textures, 1900x1200, 16x AA), soo im going to assume that it will eat call of duty black ops like a piece of candy.

That is not at all wierd here.
Furrys are a majority population population here.
It might be weird I am 100 % straight, and am not a furry.
Lol, im straight too, thats the weird part O_o
Dec 8, 2010Heh, I just stick to good ole rock, alternative rock, heavy metal, classic rock, not to much of a fan of death metal. It seems to emo for me(no offense to anyone).Posted in: General Off Topic
Don't get me wrong, but I have not found to this day a pop/mainstream song that I like. Seriously.
However, I greatly agree with your rant, 90% of the songs I hear from other people/friends these days is about sex, drugs, alcohol, violence, or all of them together. What I have realized though is pop culture changes as society changes, for example listen to some 80's pop, then listen to kesha or lady gaga. There is a huge difference to me. I feel that this generation of pop will die out eventually. Just not soon enough :sad.gif:
Anyways, the bands I listen to are pretty mainstream(Disturbed, Evanescence, Skillet, Disciple, Flyleaf Decyfer Down), but in my opinion, its music that has taste, talent, meaning. Whereas lady gaga and kesha seem to have nothing special, their voices dont sound horrible, but their music sounds like ****.
Now then, with my bashing of kesha and lady gaga, some of you may be thinking that I hate female singers. Hell no!
Female singers can have an amazing voice, Amy Lee is a perfect example, you can not listen to one of her songs and say her voice is not beautiful. Flyleaf is another example, Lacey has a beautiful voice as well, and when you combine it with rock, you get a pretty good sounding song. Now then, Lady Gaga in my opinion has a somewhat okay sounding voice, I don't see whats soo special about it. Kesha has a pretty good voice, but her music is complete ****, dont believe me? Listen to blah, blah, blah, then tell me her music is not shitty.
Just my opinion.
Pop may change, but metal will live on forever.
