Do you really think that the Mod API is still coming? and anytime soon?! That's been promised since beta.

Just for arguments sake, say the API showed up tomorrow. You still need people who will port their Bukkit plugins over and Bukkit is abandoned so who is going to do that? Nobody.

A significant proportion of the modding community has already moved on. People have stopped playing Minecraft in record numbers. Not to mention the fact that most people who haven't played or modded in a year or more would be forced to learn how to code for an entirely new API. I highly doubt that everyone is going to invest their time into that transition.

1.8 has killed Minecraft and it's dying a very slow and painful death.

    I don't understand what you're saying anymore.

I took a bit of time to ingest the opposing viewpoint, and they have you cornered; no, captured. It's time to stop flailing and struggling against the iron bonds to make things easier for everyone.

Is this trainwreck really still rolling?

Well, no. This has been a large coil. That is to say, it has been going in circles, and getting longer each time.

I give up. This debate is endless.

    Check this out;

Compare this to this. Each amounts to about one year of work. Notice how many more features are in one than the other. Notice how one is eight major versions, while the other is only one. Notice that creative was added and survival was totally rebalanced in the one with more content. This isn't being ungrateful, this is a fact; there has been less content this year than any other year before it.

well, if I dont have an issue personally that means something is wrong with the other guy, not the game itself, right? if it was the game we all should have exactly the same problem. can you comprehend basic logic?

"i'm not enslaved therefore something must be wrong with the slaves therefore it's the slaves fault they are enslaved"

Am I getting this right? Because that's not basic logic, that's broken logic.

not really. inability to install 64bit java is. oh and allocating more memory. that seems to be a barrier too.

"I didn't need to do these things before the update and ran at a constant 60fps. Now my game struggles to run at two when I'm at my underwater base." The fact that 'optimizations' can produce such a staggering drop in framerate cannot be excused by partial solutions like these. Performance use is supposed to increase gradually, not all at once like this, and when and if it does (re; it has, and it is now) it's a huge sign that it's not an issue with your hardware.

I have all useless laggy things turned off, like clouds, and render distance 5 chunks, fast graphics, and i have no lags.

This is exactly what I was making a point about; people who think they represent everyone ever. I don't have the issue either, but at least I can acknowledge that other people do, especially if they can argue about it for sixty pages with people like you.

Quote from crazycreeper49 »How can you say that? 1.8 is the biggest update ever! I like the summon command and other stuff!

Quote from MineLabsMC»It looks like it's turned into a bunch of whining kids that just complain about all the stuff in the update cause their computer is to slow.

    Quote from Mister_Mystery_»
That's the thing. There are no 'problems' with this update being addresses here. this is just people complaining about the time that it took and they don't like armor stands and rabbits. If there were genuine problems being brought up here, then fine, be grateful is and awful solution. But this is just people complaining. The ONLY way to get rid of your problems IS to dismiss them, because there are no problems being brought up here to fix. And mojang DOESN'T have to keep making updates. You have stated the reason that they do, but there is no reason for them not to stop tomorrow, that's the point. When we all bought the came, it's because we liked it. All of the updates have been a free bonus on top of what we had originally.

You folk cannot seem to comprehend that this issue is computer-specific, and believe that it isn't real, because you're not having it personally. The lag is a undeniable problem that over half of the userbase is having, and Mojang, as well as others who aren't having it, panning it as an opinion or the quality of your computer, is extremely irritating, and it will cost them. African Americans did not escape enslavement by ignoring it; they took action. You, being a metaphorical white man, do not see the problems yourself and seem to think that antagonizing those with legitimate problems is going to make the problems go away; however, the world does not run on perception, it runs on fact, and the fact is that these blacks are "enslaved" and the blacks are outweighing the whites in numbers. This magnitude of dismissal is unacceptable behavior from a professional company of any scale, especially with a team of twenty coders of any professional adequacy on the job. The fact that anyone can ignore it to such a degree is inexplicable; the quality of mental gymnastics that must take is beyond my scope of imagination. It is not working as intended if anyone can run the previous version at 100 FPS but struggle to run this one at a tenth of that. Mojang may as well have destroyed the computers of two thirds of their playerbase. Now they aren't offering refunds when people are demanding them.

What's especially horrific about all this is the realms servers that became unusable due to the lag, and a lack of consolation or reimbursement for such an event. People paid real money for something they can't use; that, surely, must be a crime! If Mojang were held in America, they would definitely have received at least one lawsuit for this already, likely more.

posted a message on Did slime spawning change in 1.8?
Fact: Slimes randomly despawn if they're not within 32 blocks of a player.

For better rates, I would suggest lighting up the caves so that other mobs aren't stealing those important monster slots.

posted a message on Gold and Iron Drop Items: Now with a mod!
Iron is used in too many things NOT to make it fortune-able; and, really, how often do you actually use the iron ore as a block? The answer is never. You don't, because you don't build caves. People who downvote this because it's "been in the game for a while" or because the change "doesn't effect them" probably should rethink their philosophies before returning to the Help section. Tradition and the current way not actively doing harm are two of the worst reasons to keep status quo, especially when better options are readily available.
