Well, we have no mouth, so talking is not an option. So let's just wave at the monitor instead. That'd work, right?
And if that doesn't work, we should shake our heads. Then again though if waving doesn't work, why would shaking our heads work?

    Quote from Mackerellatorn»

Flirt with it and compliment the glass' smooth texture.

    Quote from Buttons»

Starts moving around and flailing arms all over the place; playing Charades to ask the sexy voice just what the hell is going on around here!

    Quote from JimboMcjenkins»

Ask why it's female and not male

Ask if the voice is stuck here too.

    Quote from dufhugth20»

I decide to ask the most important question.

"Where the heck am I, and what are you?"

    Quote from Jam_Jelly»

The best action for now, random box man, is to observe the monitor closely and try to find more details about it.

You have no mouth so you can't talk, but you make these actions from waving your hands, putting your face against the glass, and flirting with whoever is behind that monitor as if to say, "Hey, you have a nice voice, but why can't you be a male instead?" All this doesn't seem to be helping though.

"The guards and the scientists are on their way to deliver you more sleeping medicine, which I can clearly see has worn off." says the voice coming from the monitor.

    Sleeping medicine...??

The box in front of you has suddenly disappeared. You guess the box is an effect of that sleeping medicine wearing off. Instinctively you pull the book closer to you which to your relief, will not be disappearing anytime.

"I suggest you be quiet now, otherwise they'd take other measures for your behavior." continues the voice.

    What will you do?

Well, seeing as how we lack a mouth we can't tell it to wake up. Seeing as how we don't have a nose we can't poke it with our noses. We need to check if we have fingers. And if we do, we should repeatedly poke the screen! Either that or be amazed at the fact that we actually have fingers, that'd work too.
If we don't, then we should either freak out or tap the screen with our... hand I guess?

    Quote from Player_Miner»

Check for a keyboard, mouse, or trackpad, and if there are none, tap the screen to see if that does anything.

    Quote from NightsRemnant»

We have an empty box, a moody book, and we have a monitor. Our options are thus limited. With these... limited options at hand, I suggest the monitor is touch sensitive.

We will touch the screen. If this fails, we will place the book against the screen to see if the screen and the book are interactive components. If this however fails, and in the stringent belief that the empty box will not assist our cause, we have nothing to lose by kicking said box in frustration. Alas, if all these things do fail, I am certain another gamer will provide a more... colorful possibility.

    Quote from PepsiCola350»

    Tap the screen

    Quote from JimboMcjenkins»

    press face against screen

    Quote from Buttons»

Well, I was gonna say put the book against the monitor as well, so... err.... I guess if nothing else works, then we could even give the screen a big moon.

    *press butt against screen*

But only as a last resort, obviously.

What if it was a scanner? It might scan what I have written in this book.

You tried all sorts of weird things with that monitor, tapping it, pressing your face against the screen, and stuff. There's no keyboard or mouse around either, and kicking the box just makes your foot a lot more sore from that fall.

Pressing the book against the screen doesn't help either. Doing all that tapping made a really annoying noise. Nothing happened until...

"Hey! Would you cut it out! You are making a lot of noise there!"

Randomly, a female voice came out of the monitor. Huh, you wonder if there are other people out there.

    What will you do?

Break the box it came in, tear it into tiny strips and arrange those to write a name!
    ...
Maybe another thought in our head can come up with a swanky name, because I sure can't.

    Quote from Player_Miner»

I check what the front page says.

EDIT: I can’t see the image here, so...

I, assuming that the front page doesn’t have a contract that will greatly restrict what I can do, use my teeth to make a small puncture on my right index finger and then sign my name in blood, which I assume is Ben because that’s the first thing that comes to mind for some reason.

i rip out pieces of the book and arrange them on the place i would need to sign to say lemon

    Quote from Buttons»

As blood trickles from my finger I realize... damn, these skinny arms indicate I don't have much blood to spare, better not use too much... maybe there is a better, less 'kill myself' method....

And of course... ripping pages from a book I am going to use isn't the best idea either, in fact it kinda defeats the purpose. So I dismiss that thought. Now... ripping a box apart might work, that is if I had a way to glue the pieces in the book. But I don't. Instead, I turn my attention to the framed and mounted painting on the wall, and while I stare at it more possibilities come to mind. With these possibilities I recall other things: A friend, my neighbor, we played together.... I see an image of my friend in my mind - 0h, yes, his name is Ben. Ben and I are throwing lemons at a house across the street. But why am I remembering Ben and I throwing lemons? Oh.. wait... that's why! I see Ben turn to me and call my name just before the memory fades... He called me, Nova.

Wow.... I guess the blank line on this page provoked that memory so I could recall my name. Good thing too. I'm glad my name isn't lemon. Nova is a pretty name.

With the painting on the wall bringing new ideas to mind, and not wanting to waste my blood, I write Nova on the empty line, then I press my finger against my thumb to stop the bleeding. Once the bleeding has stopped, I take the picture off the wall. Book in one hand, painting in the other.

Well, Nova, I think to myself, how could you use this painting to writing in this book in the future? Maybe pull the frame apart, use the sharp edges to scratch words or images into the pages? Maybe I could use the paint from the painting itself in some way?"

    Continues thinking.

    ...
That was a very strange flashback. Somehow you have a weird feeling that Nova isn't your real name, but you'll stick with that for now.

You also realize that you don't have a mouth either which is making you freak out, but you try to stay calm. A papercut won't open a wound with enough blood to make it drip. So, turning over to the last option, you approach the strange painting on the wall.

...Except that's not a painting. The picture has been moving all the time since you were here. It's actually a monitor on a screensaver. You wonder if there was a way to wake the computer up.

    What will you do?

    Quote from Darthrafael»

Tell that box that it should watch where we're going, and that he has to pay for causing us to fall! That book looks like a good compensation, doesn't it? Yea, it does. We should take the book too.

    Quote from Buttons»

Since the book could possibly prove to be some sort of clue to why I am here - and therefor ignoring my completely and utterly stupid thought of tearing it to pieces - and also because I don't have a booger to peak my interest after picking my nonexistent nose... I do take the book. Yes. And hey, now that I'm hurt and on the floor, I might as well open it and see what it says, too. Surely it wouldn't hurt to have a quick sticky beak. Charming idea.

    Quote from PepsiCola350»

I open the book anyway, clearing thought of my mind to tear it.

    Quote from NightsRemnant»

Ignores dementia praecox. Opens the book indeed... at a random page.

    Quote from Player_Miner»

I resist the urge to shred the book and check what the book is about, to see if it could help.

You pick up the book. It looks pretty normal so far. Ignoring that strange voice in your head, you open the book.

There's nothing in the book, all the pages are empty. Except the front page...

There doesn't seem to be any writing materials nearby... What will you do?

    open my eyes

    Quote from Darthrafael»

nah clearly we should keep our eyes closed and try to navigate that way. We definitely won't collide with anything. No way. Anyone claiming it's a bad idea is Fake News.

    Quote from Buttons»

There seems to be a blockage... in the nose. The obstruction tickles a lot and distracts any attention from the situation. Thinks picking it out before we do anything else is the best idea.

Sticks one finger up there and removes the blockage. One eye accidentally slivers open while doing so. Keeps eye slivered open to look at booger.

You decided that it would be better if you closed your eyes instead.

You don't have a nose! So you just gently touch your face instead. Having no nose makes you freak out, but you try to stay calm.

You start walking towards, a box? Since when is was there a box? These voices just tell you weird things. You keep walking and...

You tripped over the box. That hurt, and you knocked over the box. Huh.
    Quote from PepsiCola350»

I open my eyes, and my hands begin to shake.

    the box is COLD!

I scream because I hate the cold and immediately jump out! Good thing I brought slippers.

Anyways, I try to figure out where I am.

*You cannot control your surroundings, you can only control the actions of the character.

You feel that you are sleeping in a cold hard floor, which is something that doesn't feel like your warm bed at home. You don't remember how that happened, and you are scared of opening your eyes. You try to recall what you did before... but it failed. Heck, you don't even remember your name!

"Ah, so you do not know what happened here? How strange..." The girl says, turning to the doll floating beside her as if she's asking it a question.

"Most of the people who used to live here are dead or have fled, the streets here are no longer safe, you see. Dark creatures roam around; you're lucky none have encountered you yet." The girl says, managing a smile.

"Anyway, what's your plan? Are you gonna run around without a goal, or do you have a reason for coming here?"

    "Nothin͝g ̡is̴ w̵r͏o̧n̵g͡. ̵Don'͝t t͠ell ́t͡h̡em̶ an̷yt̀hi̴n̢g̸. "

"Oh, hmm... Nothing much... I guess?" says Allie, quietly looking downwards and brushing off the mud stuck to her dress. "Anyway, do you know where the rest of the people in this place is? Maybe you can take me to them..."

The person reaches out and grabs Allie's hand, pulling her up out of the mud. The person who helps her up is a girl, probably in her early twenties, with short brown hair and a green dress. Floating beside her is a small, neatly-made wooden doll carrying a basket covered with a cloth.
"I thought everyone here left, why are you here?" The girl asks Allie, as she takes a handkerchief out of her pocket and uses it to wipe Allie's mouth clean of mud.

    "Strangé p̸eoṕle̶ ͠live͟ ҉h̡e̡r͞e."

Allie quickly notices that probably the people who live here are not what she sees normally. "Well, I was wondering where everyone was. I just came in here..." she says, quietly.

Allie runs down the street in an attempt to catch up to the figure, it's cold and wet outside, and the stones that make up the road are slippery, and the muddy bits of dirt aren't very nice to step in either. Inevitably, Allie slips and lands in a muddy puddle. Before she can get up though, she hears footsteps coming closer.
    "Need a hand?"

Allie doesn't remember why she has this weird obsession on trying to keep her shoes safe, but apparently she's fine with getting her nice white dress dirty. Allie looks back and sees someone there...

"Ah, yeah, I think I need help..." she mumbles quietly.

As Allie is looking around the empty streets of Waise, she spots movement in the distance, a figure walking down the road away from Allie.
Meanwhile, it starts to rain. Perhaps it'd be smart to seek shelter from the cold and rain, but then Allie would lose sight of the figure...

    "I̛n͡sįd͡e̕ tha͟t h͏oúse..͞.͠"

Allie notices a figure that passed by. It also started raining suddenly...
It would be best to shelter from the rain, but it would probably help to follow this figure, maybe it will lead to somewhere with people.

Allie immediately runs toward a house... an abandoned house. She doesn't know why she chose to look inside that house, it must be her instincts. Inside the house, she found... an umbrella! Old, worn, and patched up, but still useable. She for some reason also decided to leave her shoes and started running barefoot outside in the rain to catch up with the figure. Maybe she'll be able to pick up better shoes in the way...

    "Gét͞ up̕."

Allison hears a soft sound like a voice in her head, but she chose to ignore it. Something feels strange, she doesn't remember it being very cold. The ground feels rough and hard... like sand. She wonders if she's—

    "G͢ET̶͠ ̢́U҉P͏!!"

After hearing something loud in her head she immediately opened her eyes. She doesn't remember anything that happened before... how did she end up in the middle of the desert? It's dark and cold. The moon is shining bright in the starry sky. Allie brushed off the dirt on her dress and started walking forward to wherever her feet can take her.

As she was walking, she tried hard to remember how she got here in the first place. A bright light, and someone, who is that... Allie tries to remember what she saw before, but it's not working. It seems as if something or someone is trying to block a chunk of her memory.

    ---------------------------

After a walking for a while, she sees a wall in the distance. It's surrounding a city, but it doesn't seem like there's an easy way in.

    "T̴h͟ere'̸s a͞ ̶t͝r͠ee͡ o͢vȩr ͟t̢hère..̸.̡"

Somehow Allie notices a large tree, maybe she thought she would climb it to look for a way in. What she doesn't notice is that the tree is fragile, because it's a dead tree, and the branches are falling off... After falling off a tree and landing inside the walls of the city, Allie decided it's probably a good idea to take note of surroundings first before acting.

So quiet here... Allie thought. She wonders where everyone is.
