So, I was wondering what this second fps bar represents and how it is related to my stuttering.

    Quote from avisphlox»

As I understand it, it's showing what you're averaging.

Why are there two FPS's here? I believe Optifine has this thing, as there only one FPS counter on others.

The first number is the average of the framerate from the last second. The second number is the minimum framerate over the last second. Both numbers refresh every second.

The first number will always be higher or equal to the second number, and neither are wholly representative of your framerate. The average will be brought up or down by anomalies, and in a scenario can say your FPS is 60 when in reality your game is spending 25% of the time at 195FPS and 75% of the time at 15FPS, not a smooth experience by any means. The second number will show 15FPS in this scenario.

I have experienced some annoying stuttering when loading chunks even though my FPS is pretty high and usually stays above 200 with fancy settings on, smooth lighting maxed and 10 chunks render distance.

You'll want to enable the lagometer under the other settings. It'll show you all the frametimes for each frame over the last few seconds. Read the tooltip for the setting to see what each color means. The larger the bar, the longer it took to render that frame, and the bar is colored by how much of the frame was spent doing something.

You can also enable the debug profiler in the same page and it'll show you a pie chart with information on what is taking up the most execution time.

You never told us what your system specifications are, or what settings you're using with Optifine so nobody can really tell you what is wrong. Is the JVM constantly having to run garbage collection because you have a very small amount of RAM? Is chunk loading slow because you're running an old 5400RPM hard drive? Is chunk generation slow because the game is running single threaded or you have a CPU that runs at less than 2GHz?

Take a look around the performance page in the settings and try out the fast renderer and fast math along with lazy chunk loading and the smooth world setting. You can also drop the chunk updates down to 1. It'll mean you can only load 1 chunk per frame, but it'll reduce the impact of chunk loading for each frame as it'll only be loading just one.

I can't get bump mapping to work in 1.13. Neither in your enhanced default pack nor in your vibrant one nor any other shaderpack

All I get is those weird textures:

    I'm using this ressource pack : https://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/monsterley-3772676/

Did you managed to get a working texture pack with normal maps in 1.13 ?

You might need to enable mipmapping. I was getting the missing texture on blocks like cobblestone and dirt until I enabled mipmapping.

posted a message on The Quandary Texture Pack (v5.0 for 1.2.5!)
I don't know about this but on the website version 5.1 was uploaded. I am not sure when but I think this is new.

    http://www.retributiongames.com/quandary/

The modification dates say 2012-12-06 so this was actually pretty recently updated.

It is made for 1.4.5, however it is not updated for 1.4.6, which now has new stuff but most importantly you will have to stick with vanilla firework textures and vanilla netherbrick slabs. I am unsure of whether enchanted books have new textures or not.

posted a message on Why Are Some People so Upset About Minecraft on the iOS/Android/360?
Some people just got pissy because they didn't stay informed about M:PE.
They had expectations of M:PE being EXACTLY like Minecraft on PC.
    Should have stayed informed.

ALSO SURVIVAL IS BEING ADDED SOON.

How about multi-colored sheep? The sheep could have up to 3 visible different colors and will drop those 3 colors. Or have 2 colors.

Did you know that in vanilla Minecraft if all people sleep in a bed in Multiplayer, the time does change. Maybe that can be the starting point for making the SMP Somnia.

I suggest you get a new graphics card. The one you have is extremely old. I suggest you get a Geforce GT 430. You can buy them for around $60-80. I found one from Galaxy that is $60: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814162067

The GT 430 needs a power supply that is 300W or above. You have a FX 5500 so you probably have a 250W power supply, I would check by looking at any information on the power supply itself.

If you have a higher budget, you could go for something higher, like the 500 series.

You should also get some more RAM. You are running 32-bit Vista so the maximum your machine can use is 3GB, so getting another RAM stick shouldn't hurt, but instead help.

You may not have sufficient RAM to use Minecraft. Vista will use around ~250-500MB for itself and JVM is set to use 1GB

To fix this download the Minecraft.jar launcher (it has less problems)

Then create a .bat file and put these contents in it:
    java -Xmx512M -Xms512M -cp minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame

You make a .bat file by creating a text document and renaming it's extension to .bat

MINECRAFT.JAR HAS TO BE IN THE SAME FOLDER AS THE .BAT

You also may need to change the amount of RAM allocated by JVM depending on how much Vista is a hog.

You are still using my texture for the camping equipment? Geez. Never realized it was that bad of a texture. Guess I need to make a new one...

FYI: I haven't been able to play Minecraft or connect to the forums for over 3 months.

Like that. Just add 1 more on each side.

They have to be of the same material. No Snow patch and Desert patch can be used in the same recipe.
