Just finished Vech's Spellbound Caves super hostile map and I loved it. So I'm gonna try some of the older maps, but before I do, I have a few questions. Are the updated to contain food for hunger or brewing and enchanting? If not, how do I downgrade to pre-hunger minecraft versions? Which hostile map do you think is the best? As I just said, I played Spellbound caves, I'm looking at Legendary, Canopy Carnage, and the Sunburn Islands. I give thanks to any helpful replies and I apologize if this isn't the place for this topic.
I was just going around in the nether on creative (I was just futzing around,) and I found something off when I saw the clock and compass in the item selection menu, I'm not sure if Jeb_ confirmed this yet but it seems that the clock spins around and around in the nether. The compass, however, points I believe to spawn but the needle (for those who don't know what a compass is or how it works, it's that little needle in the middle that points north) sways back and forth, sometimes going completely around, anyone that works for mojang or anyone that knows someone that works for mojang should probably put this up so it can become more, um, public.
It's a little cOLD in this thread. Been known for a long time.

Why do you want to become a member of Kandarin?: Love vanilla servers, don't have a current one to play on.

Whats your favorite block in Minecraft?: Uh... pistons?
Tell us something about yourself: Like to build, mostly machines involving pistons, redstone, etc.
Do you accept and follow the rules of the server?: Yes.
Hey there, I was reading the wiki today and found myself on the sponge page. At the bottom I saw that when a sponge block is updated, all blocks within a 5x5x5 space of it are also updated. This got me thinking, If I were to combine a BUD with a sponge block on a sticky piston, I could make a truely wireless signal. And.... It works!
Here's what it looks like:
The picture should be pretty self explanatory. The lever is hooked up to the piston with the sponge, and the device on the right is the BUD switch. In this switch, the piston on the upper left side is the input block.
The BUD switch triggers (sends a short pulse) whenever the piston retracts, but it does not activate when the piston extends.
There is no hidden wiring, except for two redstone torches that cannot be seen that are part of the BUD switch. I used the BUD switch shown in video. Credit for the BUD switch goes to TrinkerTank (the maker of that video).
If this is already known, feel free to let me know (nicely, please) and ignore this thread. If this is a new discovery, feel free to discuss it and its implications.
Holy ****leberry fin, does this mean you can have a muiltitude of sponges in a line as a sort of wireless wire?
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Literally every reply here is wrong, except for Fred the Zombie. God I miss him.
Eggs make chickens. Chickens are persistent. Animals do not despawn in 1.8. (Check my signature thread if you don't believe me). Somehow there's another variable affecting your chickens. Are you using a 1.7 converted world? Are you using fences? Could you perhaps video or screenshot your chicken coop? (A video of the chickens actually disappearing would be better)
I agree with you, a majority of the people who commented are wrong. I've read the whole new spawning system discussion so I know what you're talking about. Sadly, I don't know how to upload photos (more of a lack of wanting to), so I can't provide you with that. What I can provide you with is the set up and some more info. Basically, 4x4 area, enclosed with 4 tall dirt walls. There is a door on the side for me to collect eggs, but there is also a door behind that for safety. There is a block of water in the ground (thought the mobs might need water to drink and stay alive, lol). It is on SMP so if you can't find anything wrong with this setup then I'll just assume its the dumbasses that I play with.
