posted a message on Horses poll
I stand with a majority of the people who think Saddles should still be dungeon drops only. It incourages exploration and the actual playing of Minecraft.

As far as armor, I think Iron armor should be craftable (and tradable), but maybe a rarer armor such as Diamond or the Crystal armor from Mo Creatures should only be found in Dungeons.

    posted a message on Seasons?
If they do implement more features from Mo' Creatures I could see them adding more unique mobs to specific biomes during specific seasons.
It would be an interesting idea, even if they do implement it as a simple visual change at first and add more specialized content down the road.

What im trying to say is Horses should have mutualy exclusive saddles. You cant tell me that a saddle used for riding a pig (which is actualy a sport i belive) could be put on a horse. And multiple types of Horse saddles could be used for different things. Like a Hunter-Jumper saddle could make jumping easyer, and a Western saddle could make the horse more mobile in strafing, The normal saddle is just your basic saddle, and finally the sprinter's saddle would make the horse go faster but be less jump able and less mobile when strafing.

I like where you are going with the multiple saddle trait idea. But, I think that sounds like room for more specific enchantments for saddles or for the horse armor itself instead of item clutter. maybe just jump related enchantments in general you can apply to the player and mounts?

    posted a message on Orange!
Possibly added to be a food item like the OP suggested. Could also be added as a natural source of Orange dye, no crafting of flowers nesscesary. Could be used as an ingredient for new potions or its pips (seeds) could be used as projectiles from a Slingshot or Blowgun?

posted a message on Tropical Biome?
Tropical coastal biomes should have a place in Minecraft, and I think they should be added along with new content for oceans.
Palm trees which drop coconuts, fish, sharks, jellies, coral blocks (and item, could be used as a dye, or used as a poison for a "dart gun" weapon), new and improved fishing mechanics. Return of sponges as a block that would have to be crafted into usable form to remove alot of water quickly, similar to in beta.

Many of these things we associate with the ocean are also tropical. I sugest an all in one ocean update to add them.

posted a message on New Mob: Mimic Chest
    Quote from Mordikins

It's like saying there should be a mob that looks like regular stone, but explodes when you mine it.

A slight variant of this, though, that would be kinda cool, is if a Silverfish popped out of a chest once you opened it for the first time. Once the Silverfish popped out, though, it would just be a normal chest.

You did just describe what Silverfish are, exploding blocks that attack you. I think a new passive/hostile mob is a better idea than an editional Silverfish spawner. Minecraft is a fantasy RPG of sorts, and although both are plausible... I would take the new edition to the mob pool than a new block spawn for the Silverfish.

I personally enjoy playing the vanilla game and enjoy seeing new content come out for it. You can always play an older version of the game to play the mods you want, you don't ever have to play the current version of minecraft.

posted a message on Rope Bridges, Horse carts....etc
I think that a horse cart would be a defunct feature, seeing as mule's can carry chests and you could simply lead a mule on a leash. Rope bridges would be cool, but the idea of it "swaying" kind of clashes with Minecrafts simplistic and retro art direction.

posted a message on Reqest of Dinnerbone: Coal Block..THANK YOU DINNERBONE!
The minecraft commuity is genius. I agree with multiple points in this thread, but with a few exceptions.

    1. Coal and Charcoal blocks should be crafted by 4 material oposed to 9, which wastes one material, and 8 in the craft menu is odd for crafting a block. This would allow it to be crafted in the inventory without a crafting table.

    2. Coal Block's should be mate black in color, Charcoal a dark mated grey.

    3. When used as fuel a single block smelts 32 items (half a stack).

    4. When placed and lit with a flint and steel, should burn indefinatly like neather rack. And I agree with Justhereforthemods' idea that they should emit a bellowing partcle cloud that could be used for multiple estetic effects.

    5. I think that the blocks placed aside and in conjunction with T.N.T. should be capable of expanding the explosive area 'fueling' the explosion.
