I'm really not sure how texture packs are supposed to interact with mods. I knew they could, which is why I released that tool(and I'm glad someone used it), but I don't know how to configure it. It should be like any other texture pack for a mod, as far as I know.
It looks like picking a double slab in creative or breaking it in survival is dropping the wrong item, which is confused as to whether it is a double slab or single slab and makes everything explode when used.
The workaround is to not use items obtained in those ways; if you make a fresh set of slabs they should work, and you can discard the ones that crash the game. I'll fix the issue so it won't arise again.
Hmmm. It looks like it is trying to tell a double slab whether it should be on the top or bottom of the block, which should only happen for half slabs. I'll dig into it more tonight.
It wasn't nessecary for my long-term goals. I needed colored version of naturally generated blocks, like dirt, stone, logs, and I wanted them to make colored variations of their derivative blocks, which lead to the set of colored blocks I have implemented. Quartz all comes from a single ore, so I didn't need colored versions.
blocks work extremely differently between 1.7.10 and 1.8, so backporting is not very feasible. I have plans to build off of this base, and I am going to put my efforts there, rather than trying to backport this.

Sorry, 1.8 and 1.7 are substantially different for this.

No, its 1.8 only

It requires permission, but I'll generally grant it. go ahead and include it.
This mod is a stepping stone to a grander mod I am working on, so the selection of blocks was picked to meet the needs of that mod.

I made the fix, but I have some additions in the pipeline which are not finished, so I will post it when those are ready

Sorry this is taking so long, I've been busy

Just put the jar in your .minecraft/mods folder
I am using Forge11.14.0.1289-1.8
You can't mix the colors, but you can use any dye color you want, including dyes made by mixing colors.

Its not a server, its just a self-enforced ruleset
