Okay, I like the way the top is made, and the middle section is okay, but it's filled with pointless caves, secret entrances, hidden windows, etc.
Also, why is there a floating wooden tram in the lake? Please, save the game and THEN make other contraptions.
Also, the fact that there is no exit kills it.

Dec 22, 2009This is thermite:Posted in: Server Support and Administration
A thermite reaction is basically iron oxide (rust) reacting with aluminum to produce molten iron. The reaction is initiated by the heat from burning magnesium ribbon which is placed in the iron oxide/aluminum mixture, this is the fuse! (Any heat source can be used to start the reaction but it needs to be very hot as magnesium burns at about 650°C (1200°F) A sparkler may work but I have not tried this.)
Because it is spectacular and simple this my favorite reaction!
This reaction is highly exothermic and produces molten metal at about 3000°c.
Water should not be used to extinguish the reaction, since addition of water to hot iron produces potentially explosive hydrogen gas.
Thermite in action.

Heh, thanks. You can actually order all the ingredients on eBay.

Wouldn't the game lag after a while from all the huge buildings?
I mean, i'm no game designer, just asking if thousands of blocks arranged in a complex pattern would create a bit of a problem for the server.
Dec 22, 2009Today, my server was griefed.Posted in: Server Support and Administration
Not just a regular grief. This guy knew what he was doing.
At about 5:00 I was playing Minecraft with a couple buddies. Then, some guy with a name resembling 231583rgffy13743geg373h3fg logs on to my server. I was curious about his name, but I wasn't alarmed. He just proceded to build a mine, and mind his own business.
Then, he started acting wierd.
He went over to my tower, and said, in caps, "WHAT GON RA UN MO LE KJ" and proceeded to flip out, smashing every block in sight (Luckily, my tower was not harmed.). This upset another player, because he had broke some of the blocks where he was planning to place a base. This made Mr. Gibberish Name angry, and he destroyed the lower levels of my tower. I warned him that he would be banned, but he just kept smashing away, so I banned him.
A few seconds later, I get:
Devan Disorderly disconnected. Connection forcibly closed by remote IP.
231583rgffy13743geg373h3fg: "HAHAHA YOU CANT EVER STOP ME"
Basically, he hijacked one of my friend's account and logged on using him. Kind of like an insect putting botfly eggs onto a mosquitoe's back so they can be transfered to a host body.
After a few minutes of incredibly vulgar and racist language and failed attempted bannings, I was forced to close my server.
2 hours later, I log back on to my computer, and I notice it's acting strange. Browser windows close suddendly and then come back with completely different content, usually really gross stuff. My Internet Explorer icon is replaced with a bagel and it's named "Bill Gates makes shitty computers!".
After a while, I realize that he somehow put a virus onto my computer, so I run a virus check. After half an hour, it's finished. I check the results, and there is a Trojan in my Win32 folder. The virus-detection program identifies it as a high-level threat, and says it should be removed immediatley. So, I try to. It doesn't work.
Then I had an idea: Put the virus on a writable disk, then destroy it.
I tried that, and it worked. Luckily, the virus's effects were temporary; the strange happenings stopped after I removed the virus. And by "removed" I mean creating thermite using copper powder, iron oxide, and magnesium rods, and melting it in my backyard. Thermite is a volatile flammable that can create a fire of up to 1500 degrees Celsius when ignited.
tl;dr guy hacks my computer and I burn the virus.
Dec 22, 2009I made a bunker that was dug into a small hill. It's supposed to resemble those WW2 bunkers that were filled with ammunition and explosives. It even has a small dirt trench making a path to it. It's filled with TNT and Coal blocks. I would post pics, but Screencap expired. :sad.gif:Posted in: Classic - Creative Mode
