posted a message on Need Plot Help for my Adventure Map!
Ok I am making a Christmas-themed adventure map that my goal is to have done by Christmas and I need people's help with the plot.

So it starts out with you waking up on Christmas morning and you going to open your presents downstairs. And in one of the gift boxes, there is a ransom note saying that (evil villain name) is holding Santa hostage and demands a ransom of a lot of money. And this is where I need you guys' help. Also whoever gets me a good idea will get featured in the credits! :D

    Thanks everyone for the help!

Firstly, you need to put some pictures up if you're providing a download link.

Anyway, your architecture is very beautiful!

Here are some bugs I found:

    - The nether portal doesn't put you in the right place (the one you constructed in the nether is broken)

    - I'm pretty sure 24 divided by 9 is 2 and 2/3, not 1/3

Also, I'm not sure what the challenge after the nether is, unless you haven't gotten that far yet.

    - Thanks!

    - Yeah I did all that in my head and I guess put 1 instead of 2.

    - Nether portal, it worked for me yesterday but I don't know how to fix it.

Hello everyone, I have been working on an adventure map for the past two weeks and I understand it isn't finished but I need people to test my map and leave a reply telling me what I should add, should remove, or should edit.

Try time travel. I don't think a time travel map has been created yet.

    Awesome idea! Thanks! :D

Very true :P Plus, we don't need deceleration saddles for horses right?

But...they are horses and not minecarts.

    1. Find Dropbox files location.
    2. Make a folder in dropbox ( this is where your worlds/resources etc will be)
    3. In mc launcher: edit profile/game directory. Set it to the location of the folder you made earlier.

If you have trouble, Google is your friend.

    no support.

Google is a great friend to have.

I honestly didn't even know you could put the .minecraft folder to dropbox or a flash drive. That's why I though this would be a really cool idea. Welp, I guess you learn something new every day.

http://www.guidingtech.com/11612/run-dropbox-from-portable-usb-drive/ Use dropbox and set it up to your .minecraft folder and wham saves on the go. I use this and haven't had any issues. Best part, its free!

Not a bad idea! That's actually pretty convenient. But I do think this would be much better for people who aren't so tech-savvy.

So, if you are like me. Sometimes you play Minecraft on your home computer, and sometimes on another computer. well, have you ever been working on a project in a singleplayer world and wished you had it on your other computer so you could finish it up. Well that is why I think MineCloud should be a thing. And I think it should automatically backup your "saves" folder to the MineCloud website. I also think that you shouldn't have to pay for it. Maybe a default of 5 GB and extra storage would cost money. Please leave feedback! Thanks! :D

I'm going to have to ask both of you to calm down and stop bickering. It is clear we have a disagreement and KILLERCOOKIE123 doesn't like the idea, and they have the right to do so. But sniping at each other solves nothing and detracts from the discussion. If you've both stated your opinions and they contrast each other then you need to agree to disagree like gentlemen (or ladies, depending on your gender).

I think a good addition to this idea, or possibly even replacing the idea, would be a way to simply set the speed of a cart going through it. Like if you set up a Comparator right next to the rail you can run signal in the side of the Comparator and use that to dictate how fast the rail will go, speeding up or slowing down the cart as needed. That could even be rolled directly into Powered Rails, which would render this rail type obsolete in a way (this would still be useful for compact slowdowns).

Thanks you for calming this down! Also, not a bad idea! :)

In what case will this be used for? Players in multi player servers and single player will want a FAST way to travel around there world, all this really is fore is atheistic looks. Honestly, there would need to be some reason for players to use this or else it will end up like the dead bush, useless and decorative. I just feel like there is absolutely no need for these at all, especially considering players want to make things fast. Also, the recipe is quite UP considering how unlikely it will be used in survival if the recipe is that, you need 12 lava/obsidian and a diamond pick (Unless you're smart.) I feel like this would be a waste of resources and just an annoyance in general.

If you are saying this is useless and only for aesthetics, aren't you implying that all rails are only for aesthetics and have no functionality? And things don't always have to be fast, just like TheqoreeZ said, it could be used for creepy maps.

Very vague, useless and in general a waste of resources. No support

    How exactly is it useless?
