Hi! I am making a new mod (1.7.10) with swords. I am using MCreator, and I have some issues with Wither effect on my sword (I can't apply this effect) and I don't know how to use the "codes". I would realy like if you could help me! I am making just mod for me and my friends to play. THX for help!
I don't really remember how to use MCreator, but here's the line I use for the wither effect and any other potion effect on the swords. Hope you can find the .java archives of your mod and modify it:
(par2EntityLivingBase is the entity that will be hit, 1200 is the time in ticks the effect will be applied, 4 is the intensity the effect has. Test and modify at your own)
I'm sorry that I came off as accusatory and you thought I blamed you. I only noticed this and I'm far from the only one to comment on that issue. But I am glad to see you have indeed fixed the problem.
I know that it does take a lot of time and effort to maintain a mod; I've seen mods come and go that never really addressed certain issues, and some of them die off due to loss of interest or other tragic factors. (After what happened to BicBiomeCraft, I pretty much gave up on ever seeing it in 1.7.10, at least the original anyway.) Still I hope you can keep your enthusiasm to keep this mod alive and I wish you the best of luck. God Bless.
Thanks man, I should apologize too for my comment cause I've seen this issue for too long and I didn't exactly knew why they were still complaining for it when I spent for too long fixing the port from 1.6.4 to 1.7.10. There are certain things that an author shouldn't say to their public, and that was one of them.
So I would somehow compensate my fault telling you something that I should tell:
On the next update (which will be ready in some months) I'll make a new keybind for habilities and I'll make an hability for the Cyan Sword, that's the main content. If I figure out some kind of hability for a third upgrade (which are always the most difficult to figure out) I'll make them. Same (but less) happens to the mixtures (mixtures in fact can be easier to figure, because normally I only have to mix code and there you go, a new sword).
When I finally release this update, the next step will be porting tothe next minecraft version (1.8 or so).
Then, when all the 3rd upgrades are ready, I may get focused at releasing the mixings people request me (or I figure out) till i make all the possible mixings the mod has to offer.
When I get tired of this mod, I'll may just upgrade it to further versions or try to work on some other mods I just abandoned.
Aaaand that's all! Thanks for being tuned to further updates! (If you have any suggerence I'm all ears )

Well, this is a serious bug, and no, I wasn't concerned at all about it. Next time if you find this sort of things go to the github of this mod and report it.

Hmm...Can these weapons be enchanted? If they can, that's a bit OP as they already are more powerful then diamond swords and have special powers. I'd recommend not making them enchantable for having special powers already. (Like for instance, Zelda Sword Skills has a sword that does 15 damage but you cannot enchant it for balance reasons.)
They are enchantable, but just for the fun it makes to have in your inventory a water sword with fire aspect. I could remove it, but it's kinda easter egg for anyone who wants to try it out.
Basically right clicking with the water/nature swords will drop water/cacti.
I need a way to prevent players from messing up the building that new players start at.
The building is worldguard protected if that helps.
Any help appreciated on this one
You can try to block them to right-click on construction zones with those swords in hand, but I don't know exactly how does your server work.

I fail to see how this is game breaking or overpowered. Even if you downloaded it by itself, the highest damage a sword does is 12, besides cyan. The sword handles require diamonds and blaze rods. This means you have to have made it to the nether, found a nether fortress, and killed blazes for you to have a chance to wield one. What else is there left for you to do besides fight the ender dragon unless you did have mods? And I mainly use bows to fight the dragon.
If anything, I'd offer a cooldown period, but to use hunger, when so many other mods have even more powerful abilities and weapons with infinite durability and insanely powerful bosses... It would be a disservice to the mod.
Maybe instead of adding hunger you could just add a "Mana" meter above the hunger one. It either automatically regens or you have to collect a resource/build something to restock it. Idk just an idea
Both of your ideas are correct paths to follow, but also both of your ideas would take me a time that I don't have (more the mana idea than the cooldown one), so I propose you the idea to add the hunger idea as a temporal solution, then apply the cooldown idea, and finally a well-implemented mana system with energy and cooldown, agree?
