Sach, you said in the article "Here is a video of our costume contest from the last MINECON." But didn't put a video! or a link! Just thought I should remind you.

And having it in the offhand slot can put more emphasis on different players' styles of play. Like, if you like fast combat you can use swords and gloves, and if you like strength in combat, you can use an enchanted ring instead, etc.

Nifty idea! But it may be tedious to bring so many materials, especially the water buckets, to build these.
Very elaborate and well-made guide as well.

All great ideas! I like that crafting recipe a lot more than my original plan. (Makes way more sense.)

Sorry! I never cared to educate myself on these things.

Same.

That's actually a good idea, but the chestplate is your most valuable line of defense, and the gloves don't help enough to cover that. Maybe they would use up your offhand instead, so you can't hold shields or anything. Also using up the hand slot instead of the chestplate slot makes more sense to me.

That's a good point.

If you don't know what Discord is, you haven't been on the internet in a while.
FYI it's a website where people can text and voice chat.

1) The download sites for hacked clients don't look trustable at all.
2) Gloves would be part of vanilla Minecraft, thus being even easier to get, without hassle at all.
3) I never said it was balanced because everyone can get it.
4) Hacked clients are entirely different from a small piece of armor in the game.

I just said that because every other suggestion mentioning gloves didn't have actual points at all, and didn't elaborate on the idea. I never said it doesn't stop people from disproving me.
I agree with that statement.
* Well these obviously aren't boxing gloves I'm talking about.
** I think that would be the second person's fault. Gloves are so easy to make, so why hasn't he made them yet?
VolcanoBomber,
"Difference between "hate" and "constructive criticism."" Yeah, I never said you guys were hating. . _ .

I personally have never played the Aether mod but maybe.

Well really, the "console" is just chat but you start the commands with /. To just open the chat normally and say messages, press T. (That's the default at least)

I don't know if you guys realized, but gloves irl are practically weightless.
Yes, the ring does seem overpowered, I see that. But the glove? One point of protection, slightly increasing fist damage, and slightly reducing cooldown times is not overpowered.

- "They will look sort of like boots but on your hands. So squares?" Everything in the game is square. ' - '
- "You can dye them and they would be stylish. big squares on my hands aren't stylish ("they will sort of like boots")" If you dye them like I said, they could be when paired with matching leather clothes.
- "They would make weapon cooldown times a little faster. Realistically they would make cool-down times slower" That really makes no sense.
- "One point of armor protection (half a mini chestplate). Not really useful aside from just a bit of damage resistance" The damage resistance is the point.
I agree with that part. I see now the ring idea was a bit silly.

GLOVES
You would craft them with leather, in this formation:
EDIT: Ouatcheur suggested (and I like): You can also craft with normal minerals used for crafting armor, to make gauntlets. But we will need new crafting recipe. I think just the materials in an L-shape would work.
What they would do:
RINGS
You would craft them with minerals such as iron, gold, and diamonds, just by putting one of them into a crafting table.
EDIT: Better crafting recipe: Gold nuggets in a v-shape, and some mineral in the top-middle.
What they would do:
These would both be put in a new slot in the inventory, a knuckle slot.
EDIT: We have decided that a new slot was unnecessary, so putting the rings and the gloves into the offhand slot would make more sense, be more practical, and give more emphasis on strategic combat. (Like, sacrificing your ability to hold a shield or whatever to get an extra enchantment or to attack a bit faster)
