It's client side only, but it involves redpower 2 and AE, basically what happens, there is something that when you set your UI to sort alphabetically it causes client to crash, and the only way to fix it is to pull out the disk in the network, get yourself off of "S A" mode and put the disk in, I haven't quite gotten to the point of figuring out which of the redpower 2 items causes it, but I haven't see anyone with this issue. I /really/ wish I could update, but I rely on redpower for just about everything else, it's a sad day Eloraam vanished... 1.4.7 FTB U will probably be my last update at this rate...Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Oct 25, 2013I'm wondering is there any way you can set the path of the actual map files elsewhere? but keep the rest of the files where they are? Reason being, I'm running my entire server in ram, and those map files eat /a lot/ of space. I don't see it in the config on where I can point them to be made anywhere else sadly, or if this is even an option. I do recall long ago someone made a video on how to take where minecraft is installed, add some sort of loop that sends the files to say, a ramdrive. If it's not possible by default, I'll have to take a look into doing it that way. I'm just wondering, cause dynmap doesn't need the speed of /ram/ to do its thing, it worked perfectly fine on the raid, and of course, it's big!Posted in: Minecraft Mods

Anyone know how to process Nether Ores? I'm using SMP Tekkit (Technic Pack for Bukkit) and Nether Ores are mineable. I have Coal, Redstone, Iron and Diamond but I can't use them! They won't smelt in a vanilla furnace, IC2 furnaces, OR Alloy/Redpower furnace. Help? Both this thread AND Tecnic say to just cook tehm in a furnace but...what am I missing? Maybe it's just a bug?
same problem here, copper and tin did however, the rest didn't, shame really I was going to set up camp in the nether, but now... meh...lava supply is about it.

So no one has a clue on why the world doesn't load at random while playing? Or at least can point me to one of the 500 pages where someone was talking about this and possibly has an explanation on why?
Seriously, this board is wonky lately, Estelyen's post wasn't there when I posted, then suddenly it is... sheesh, if it isn't one thing it's another, anyways, I'm checking into it, also I wasn't using OptiFine HD D3 Multi-Core, which is why I didn't do that step in the control panel, though I've already had vsync locked long ago(other games and I hate hate hate screen tearing in openGL games.) Going to remake a jar file with the OFHDD3MC and see if that works better, let's hope for the best cause it flaked the hell out the first time I ran it.
Jan 6, 2012Using OptiFine HD D3, I get chunks of the world not loading, is there like a setting or option to fix this? or is this just an inherent issue with it? it's annoying because when it's not forgetting the world needs loaded it runs amazingly, but soon as I start running in a direction, bits and pieces of the world will start missing all over the place.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
running java 7 that was recommended from the OP post as well as his suggestions on the command line for memory, before I was setting minecraft to 8gigs of memory(and it would eat that up like popcorn and still do this.)

So after reading the entire thread inside and out on the first page, missing the first thing saying about forge apparently the first time, I luckily had my mincraft jar backed up, however, after going into game, LOVE THE OPTIONS and the speed, it was great, but was having nasty nasty nasty flickering on anything that was forge related, after I got to a spot that didn't have anything from buildcraft or industrialcraft it was perfectly happy. But, here is the problem, I had to uninstall it. Now for some unknown reason the world loads REALLY slowly for chunk updates, does this mod screw with the save files as well? Or are their files I just didn't have backed up or a setting I missed? Because now I can fly and catch up to the edge, even vanilla+mods I couldn't do that... /sigh... was such a good map too, it had an ocean, now it's just an ocean of **** and missing chunks...
nevermind it was a setting, durp...
Hope you guys get together and make this work, **** rocked, but **** if I'm going to play without IC+BC+RP in a trio.

May 26, 2011did find an immediate problem with this, levers on switch cables glitch out, and can crash the game. Other than that, it looked great in game and I could actually SEE my wiring instead of a big chunk of wire that I could only see the outside stuff.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

it pretty much makes a chest of that color which ONLY links with OTHER chests of THAT SAME colour. Simple idea. Although this mod is already making me tingle with epicness.
wouldn't it be better to use 4 colors of cloth? that way you can have a maximum of 50625 combinations instead of 225

I totally agree with you on not wanting to step on anyone's toes, "but", why not put your own spin on it, cause you kinda already did IMHO(the your own spin, not stepping on toes) if you look at the old bridge version he did long ago before turning it into floodgate and the 1 block limit. *some* of us myself included really want a simple and effective gate/bridge that does multiple blocks across with the ability to point it where we need it, another note would be look at all the other similar mods out there, especially in the glass department and no one complains. More blocks the better ^^b
As for the texture, yeah I was prolly going to make my own 64X64 texture so it would be "fitting" for what I was going to use it for(once I can poke new block id's at it), but like I said above, would be nice to be able to stick it with what ever texture you want by putting a block in it.
But I know I will totally be using the bridge once it's ready, cause I need it to clean out about 200 miles of redstone wiring under my structures for massive amounts of floodgates when I can just pop 2 down and be done with yours, lol...

or a text file we can use to change the id's to fit in
I really wish your laser bridge was more like floodgate how you can drop in blocks to make it look how you want it(and default with no blocks in it would look like the laser bridge), cause making a bridge and death pits with floodgate = pain in my ass and an assload of redstone, and your mod would make me happy if it was similar but kept the extend till hit a block method idea.
I can't use it because it uses block id 98 which at the moment is being used.
edit: btw, I enjoyed your light tube, but the bottoms are blank so it looks funny IE they poof away depending on the angle
